Now, police have arrested Raymond Boodarian, 22, although the nature of his arrest is not yet clear.
Family members had called for a welfare check for the couple on Monday, July 14, after they hadn't been heard from in four days, police said.
When cops arrived at their home in L.A.'s swanky Encino neighborhood, they found blood at the front entrance of the house, TMZ first reported.
Officers smashed a window to get inside, where they discovered the couple's bodies.
They were both declared dead at the scene at around 2:30 pm.
Footage obtained by ABC affiliate KABC showed the home's sliding glass door was shattered.
Neighbor Hannah Massachi, a local realtor, told The U.S. Sun locals are 'very shaken' and desperate for answers.
'They were a lovely couple, I saw them a few months ago," she said, adding, "Why would somebody do this?"
'I've lived here for over 30 years. Everyone is proud to live in Encino and all the celebrities are here, all the movie stars. I've sold many homes here," she said.
Police had been called to the couple's $5 million home just days earlier.
EERIE SCARE
On Thursday, a suspect tried to get into Kaye and Deluca's house while possibly carrying a gun, residents told NBC affiliate KTLA.
The couple's neighbors said they called police after someone saw a person hopping the fence.
"We didn't see or hear anything. My renter called 911 on Thursday because she saw somebody hopping the fence," neighbor Amee Faggen told KABC before the victims were identified.
"And I have no idea if that was related or not. They came and left, the helicopters and police came."
It's unclear if the two incidents are related.
POOL CLEANER SPEAKS OUT
Kaye and Deluca's pool cleaner, Mauro Quintero, turned up at their home on Tuesday to get paid like usual, he told The U.S. Sun.
Instead, he found crime scene tape and learned they had been murdered.
He said Deluca recently told him about another attempted break-in over a month ago.
'Tom told me about a month ago that people tried to break in in the middle of the night," Quintero, 55, said, adding that the intruders were scared off by the couple's two small dogs barking.
"But they have little dogs and they woke him up and they ran off."
He said the couple put up security cameras after the scare. There were also spikes on the fence surrounding the home.
"They were really nice people, the lady especially," Quintero recalled.
"I only ever saw the two of them at the house.'
Law enforcement sources said they believe the shooting happened Thursday during a possible burglary at the house, reports NBC4 Washington.
Following their tragic deaths, a spokesperson for American Idol said: "We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom's, passing.
"Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.
"Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time."

Livvy Dunne sizzles in new beach snaps after reigniting her feud with the New York Times

Olivia Dunne and her MLB boyfriend Paul Skenes made the most of some brief downtime this week by soaking up the sun in Montauk. Dunne, 22, had some precious time with her boyfriend during a break in the MLB season for the All-Star game. The former LSU gymnast shared several pictures of herself with Skenes and their dog, Roux - who appeared to be getting more attention from Dunne than Skenes was. The MLB pitcher, who plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates, is widely considered to be one of the most talented stars in the game, even at the age of 23. But this week, it has been Dunne making the headlines as Skenes enjoys some needed downtime at the midway point of the 2025 baseball campaign. In an interview on the 'What's Your Story?' podcast Dunne repeated a long-standing grievance with the New York Times after posing for a photoshoot with them back in 2022. Recapping her journey to becoming a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Dunne explained: 'It all started because of a hit piece [that] the New York Times wrote about me. 'They came to our gymnastics facility at LSU, took pictures of me. They said, "wear your team-issued attire, put on a leotard," and they took a picture of me standing in front of the beam like any gymnast would and then they blew it up on the screen and put the headline, "Sex Sells". 'Okay well, you just came into the facility and took pictures of me in our team-issued attire and blew it up on a screen. So I was like, well this is crazy. And there was obviously a lot of backlash to the New York Times because of that. 'I decided I was going to put that same picture that they posted and captioned "Sex Sells" on my Instagram story and write "@ The New York Times, is this too much?" Because, come on, you know what you're doing. You just put a picture of me in a leotard for clicks and then caption it "Sex Sells." 'And then people loved that. They were like this is so great because no, it's not too much. You're in your team-issued attire, which is a leotard for gymnasts." [...] There was a lot of positive feedback from that. 'So, Sports Illustrated reached out to my agent. I was so excited about that. That was always a dream of mine. There's some legends and some amazing athletes that have been in Sports Illustrated.' In May, Dunne, who called time on her athletics career last month, was named as one of four cover stars for SI Swimsuit's 2025 edition after appearing in two previous issues. In five years at LSU, Dunne became the most-followed and highest-paid female college athlete with over 13 million combined TikTok and Instagram followers and a NIL (name, image and likeness) valuation of $4.1million. With more time on her hands, Dunne has been at plenty of Pittsburgh Pirates games to cheer on Skenes. But while he has been a sensation in baseball, his team are struggling and have a 29-59 record so far, which leaves them last by 12 wins in the National League Central.

Pam Bondi ‘could have tried Epstein' while Florida AG, law professor says

Pam Bondi 'could have tried' Jeffrey Epstein while she was Florida Attorney General between 2011 and 2019, according to a law professor. President Donald Trump's embattled Attorney General has been mired in controversy over the release of the Epstein files, which she claimed were sitting on her desk in February. The Department of Justice announced on July 6 that no more evidence in the case would be released and that the disgraced financier did not have a 'client list.' Following widespread outrage from MAGA, Trump ordered Bondi to release certain Epstein files and relevant grand jury testimony 'subject to court approval.' Before joining the Trump administration, Bondi, who represented Trump during his first impeachment proceedings in 2019, served as Florida's first female attorney general. The Palm Beach Post asked the question: 'Should Bondi have looked into Epstein's crimes between the time of his jail release in 2009 and the filing of the criminal charges in 2019, when many have alleged that he sexually assaulted hundreds more?' Theoretically, she could have, said Nova Southeastern University law professor Robert Jarvis. 'The federal government and the state government, of course, are two different political entities, and both have the power to try the same person for the same crime, using their respective laws,' Jarvis told the Post. 'Thus, Pam Bondi could have tried Epstein.' The Independent has contacted Bondi's office for comment. Jarvis, however, added that Bondi would not necessarily have had cause to initiate a new investigation unless someone had specifically brought a case to her attention. 'I would not criticize her for not doing anything for what seem[s] to be a case that had already been adjudicated and dealt with and punishment handed out,' Jarvis told the outlet. Authorities in Palm Beach started investigating Epstein in Florida in 2005. A grand jury charged him with one count of solicitation of prostitution in 2006 as accounts of sexual abuse from his island mansion began to come to light. In 2008, despite an overwhelming amount of evidence, Epstein was given the 'deal of the century' that saw him serve 13 months out of an 18-month sentence for only two prostitution-related felonies. He was released in July 2009. Federal prosecutors in New York brought sex trafficking charges against Epstein a decade later. Bondi said a motion to release grand jury testimony in the Epstein case was filed on Friday in a post on X.
