CID's Shreya Says ‘Daya Sir Is Everyone's Favourite'; Fans Have Major Meltdown

News18a day ago
CID's Shreya calls Daya Sir 'everyone's favourite' in a new video, leaving fans emotional and nostalgic. Internet reacts with love and sweet comments.
CID, India's longest-running crime drama show, is still ruling hearts. The return of Inspector Shreya (aka Janvi Chheda) earlier last month left the internet buzzing, and now Sony TV has released the cutest question-and-answer video featuring Daya (aka Dayanand Shetty) and Shreya. In the clip, Shreya can be seen agreeing that Daya Sir is everyone's favourite — and fans couldn't agree more.
In the video, actress Janvi and Dayanand were asked who is ACP sir's favourite. To this, Janvi didn't hesitate and quickly said, 'Daya sir," while Shetty replied, 'Dr. Salunkhe." Janvi then promptly added, 'Daya sir is everyone's favourite." As soon as Sony TV dropped the video, fans started posting sweet comments for the on-screen pair.
One wrote, 'Haaye dono kitne pyaare lag rahe hain ❤️❤️."'How cute they are 🙈😭🧿❤️," another fan wrote. A third commented, 'Yes… he is everyone's favourite, and @janvicg too." Another user added, 'My both cuties 😍😍😍😍." 'Aap dono ko dekh ke jitni khushi hoti h bta nhi sakte," a comment reads.
While sharing the video, Sony TV wrote, 'Daya humare bhi favourite hai 🤭 Dekhiye #CID Sat-Sun raat 10 baje, sirf #SonyEntertainmentTelevision par."
Meanwhile, when the promo of the CID episode featuring Daya and Shreya's reunion was released, fans were thrilled to see them together again. Fans, who still reminisce about Shreya and Daya's subtle romantic arc, were delighted by the reunion. A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a clip from CID Season 2 that shows the duo's reunion, captioning the post:
'Why are you crying? It's just a reunion." They added, 'The reunion."

The clip shows Inspector Shreya arriving at the CID office with her daughter. She and Daya briefly meet each other's gaze, their unspoken emotions thickening the tension. It further shows Daya approaching the little girl and playing with her. The clip ends with Shreya and Daya — holding the young girl in his arms — in one frame. The fan edit of the reunion plays to a sentimental romantic song.
Some hailed the reunion as the 'best" thing. A third user commented, 'It (the reunion) was perfect." Yet another added, 'Best scene to date in Season 2 and the best episode of Season 2 so far."

Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 In The Works? Kabir Khan Confirms Talks With Salman Khan Are On

Last Updated: Kabir also shared that both he and Salman are aligned on not rushing into a sequel just to capitalise on the legacy of the original. Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the 2015 blockbuster starring Salman Khan, holds a special place in the hearts of Bollywood fans. Directed by Kabir Khan, the emotional tale of a man's journey to reunite a mute Pakistani girl with her family across the border became a massive box office success and earned critical acclaim. Naturally, fans have long waited for a sequel, and now, there's renewed hope that Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 may actually happen. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, director Kabir Khan revealed that he and Salman Khan are indeed in discussions about reuniting for the sequel. While confirming that talks are ongoing, Kabir stressed that they're being cautious and waiting for the right story. 'We have definitely spoken about Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. In today's day and age, when all franchises are doing well, we are being careful about Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, as we don't want to make a sequel to the most popular film of the last two decades for the sake of it," he explained. Kabir also shared that both he and Salman are aligned on not rushing into a sequel just to capitalise on the legacy of the original. 'We don't want to spoil the legacy of a beautiful film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. If and when a story hits us – maybe now, or a year later – we will definitely bring Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2," he added. The filmmaker further clarified that while he has never been inclined to follow the sequel route in his career, this particular story holds a special place. 'I would love to direct Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 but for the right reasons and not the wrong ones. I don't want to do it for the sake of box office numbers, but to do justice to the legacy of a cult like Bajrangi Bhaijaan," he concluded. Kabir Khan's last outing, Chandu Champion starring Kartik Aaryan, performed moderately at the box office. He is now reportedly working on his next film, while fans eagerly wait for confirmation on whether Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 will become a reality. view comments First Published: July 15, 2025, 21:10 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. This Mumbai Area Only Wants ‘Rich With Class': No ‘Nuisance' Bollywood, No Club For Jhunjhunwala

Societies in Pedder Road do not welcome Bollywood celebrities, as they believe famous people could be a nuisance. Mumbai is known as the city of dreams because many people come here for a better life. But some places in the city are still out of reach for many, even for locals, because living there is very expensive. One such area is Pedder Road, where many societies do not welcome Bollywood celebrities, as they believe famous people could be a 'nuisance." Journalist Vishal Bhargava explained that the area is mostly for the very rich, but not for celebrities, who face unofficial barriers when trying to buy a house. While appearing on the latest episode of Mumbai, Munch and Market with Chintan Vasani️ on Instagram, Bhargava said, 'Pedder Road, you have the rich and the super rich. In one building where the TATA chairman stays, next to that is Antilia, where Mukesh Ambani stays. So Bandra has celebrities, here celebrities struggle to buy a home. Many societies don't want Bollywood actors. They think of them as a nuisance. So if any Bollywood actor decides to buy a home here, many societies place informal restrictions on actors." 'So there are two or three big clubs. The most famous club is the Willingdon Club. They do not like Bollywood actors, but do not like anybody who they think is not sophisticated and refined. So, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the billionaire stock investor, tried to get membership into the Willington club three times, all three times they rejected him. So it's not that you have money, it's that money is not enough in Peddar Road, you need to have something more than money. The rich and famous can be a disqualification, rich and super rich give you a chance, but rich and sophisticated have better odds than rich and famous good one," Vishal Bhargava added. Pedder Road History: According to an X Page, 'Peddar Road is named after Mr. W. G. Pedder, Municipal Commissioner of Bombay in 1879. He was in the Bombay Civil Service from 1855-1879." Peddar Road is named after Mr. W. G. Pedder, Municipal Commissioner of #Bombay in was in Bombay Civil Service from 1855-1879 #Mumbai — Mumbai Heritage (@mumbaiheritage) October 17, 2013 Although most people still call it Pedder Road, the road now has a sign that says Dr Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg, the founder of the Indian Medical Association and the first mayor of Bombay after Independence. The road begins right after the city's first flyover at Kemps Corner, then goes uphill through a posh residential zone, until it reaches Haji Ali Square. view comments First Published: July 15, 2025, 10:30 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Sonam Kapoor Reacts To Viral Post About ‘Desification' Of Wimbledon: ‘Indians Everywhere'

Published By : IANS Diet Sabya posted about 'desification' of Wimbledon 2025, noting the presence of several Indian celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Urvashi Rautela, and more. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who was last seen in the streaming film 'Blind', is coming out in support of the 'desification" of Wimbledon. A recent post by an Instagram handle showed pictures of Indian celebs attending Wimbledon. The post in question spoke about how there has been an uptick in influential people flocking to Wimbledon from India. Sonam took to the comments section of the post, as she wrote, 'Love the captions! Indians everywhere! So good na?". View this post on Instagram A post shared by DietSabya® (@dietsabya) Celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Urvashi Rautela, Neena Gupta and her designer-actor daughter Masaba, Janhvi Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Anushka Sharma and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli turned up at the Wimbledon. On Monday, Wimbledon paid tribute to Indian cinema for the very first time during finals. Wimbledon's official social media handle dropped a surprise post that sent fans into a frenzy. The visual mirrored the Republic Day poster of the upcoming movie 'Jana Nayagan'. Sinner struck a powerful selfie pose with his trophy, echoing Vijay's own image in the film's teaser art. The post was aptly captioned 'The First Roar", inspired by the thunderous BGM composed by Anirudh Ravichander. This marks the first time Wimbledon has saluted an Indian actor and film — making 'Jana Nayagan' the first Indian cinematic reference to be immortalized by the historic sports institution. Looking at the recent trends, Wimbledon has been chasing viewership similar to more popular sports in India like cricket given India's colossal human capital, and the advertisement revenues wired to it. The recent Wimbledon finals saw Jannik Sinner emerging victorious in an electrifying clash against Carlos Alcaraz. Jannik became the first Italian Wimbledon singles champion in the Open Era. The Women's singles defending champion was Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic, but she lost in the third round to Emma Navarro. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
