Was Bodo/Glimt goal 'the key moment'?
Former England goalkeeper Robert Green was impressed by Tottenham's performance but feels the late Bodo/Glimt goal put a hint of doubt into next week's Europa League semi-final second leg in Norway. He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "The key moment in this tie was the Bodo/Glimt goal. Spurs looked to be running away with it and cruising. And that one attack, the one shot on target changes everything."This is still in the balance."Everything changed by the end of the game. It was really muted applause here, muted celebrations apart from in the yellow corner and they know they've got a real chance."It's the old adage of don't be 2-0 up at half-time because that's a horrible team talk. It's going to be a tough one. If Ange Postecoglou can get his team out, I think they'll be all right because they can see it through and they've got enough."The drop off is that big from Dominic Solanke, from James Maddison. It's just not the same side."Ex-Spurs winger Andros Townsend was more bullish on Tottenham's chances, arguing the hard work has been done by Postecoglou's side: "Spurs now go there, to the artificial pitch, with a two-goal buffer and they know what they need to do."They can sit behind the ball - they showed they can do that against Frankfurt a few weeks ago. They can use the pace on the counter like they did tonight. The front three were unbelievable."I think it's easier going there in the second leg rather than the first leg."

Tottenham set sights on ex-Man Utd transfer target after Bryan Mbeumo hijack
Tottenham and Manchester United are both trying to convince Bryan Mbeumo to sign for them this summer and now Spurs are weighing up a move for another star admired by their rivals Tottenham are said to be eyeing up a deal for long-term Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite as they continue to map out their plans for the summer transfer window under Thomas Frank. Spurs are anticipating a busy summer after choosing to replace Ange Postecoglou with Frank. And the Dane will be backed in the transfer market after the north London outfit booked their spot in the Champions League with victory in last month's Europa League final. Mirror Football revealed last week how Spurs have already sprung into action to try and rival Manchester United for Brentford talisman, Bryan Mbeumo. And a new report now claims that Tottenham have their sights set on another player admired by United in Branthwaite. The Everton defender, 22, was the subject of a £50million bid from United last summer but is now on Spurs' radar, according to The Mail. It's said that Tottenham could even formalise their interest later this week, although Everton are thought to consider Branthwaite as not for sale this summer. David Moyes is eager to keep the highly-rated centre half as the club ramp up their own preparations for the 2025-26 campaign, where they will officially grace their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock for the first time. But Branthwaite is understood to be keen to step up to the next level with Spurs able to offer the former Carlisle United man Champions League football. While it remains to be seen if United have plans to revisit a deal for Branthwaite, they are very keen on bringing Mbeumo to Old Trafford after already wrapping up the capture of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Brentford star refused to be drawn on his future during an impromptu interview at the Canadian Grand Prix but he did tip his old Bees boss, Frank, to do well at Spurs. "He's done so much for me," Mbeumo told Sky Sports. "He literally trusted me from the start [at Brentford] and he developed the team so well. He developed me as a human and a player so much as well. I can only wish him all the best and I'm sure he's going to do well." He added: "He knows everything; he's really smart and knows what he wants to bring the team, how he wants them to play. He's been fantastic for Brentford." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Tottenham star and his new wife are stranded in Israel after their wedding with flights blocked amid all-our war with Iran and WW3 apocalypse threat
Tottenham forward Manor Solomon is reportedly stuck in Israel after flying home for his wedding, amid the escalating conflict with Iran. Solomon, who spent last season on loan with Leeds United, tied the knot with his girlfriend of seven years Dana Voshina last week. The couple shared a series of photos and videos from their wedding day on social media. Solomon and Voshina had been joined by friends and family at the Kahi Events Resort in Israel, where the newlyweds had thrown a extravagant party. According to the Sun, Solomon and his new wife are now stranded in Israel with flights having been blocked out of the country. Israel's airspace remains closed to all civilian flights after two nights of bombardment by deadly Iranian missiles and drones. Officials have admitted an evacuation from Israel is currently impossible amid the conflict. The UK Foreign Office on Sunday issued an urgent warning against all travel to Israel following the bombardments from Iran. The Foreign Office warned anyone looking to flee the country that Israeli airspace 'remains closed' and that the conflict with Iran 'may disrupt road links'. Israel has been the subject of heightened travel advice since the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas. The Foreign Office has advised against non-essential travel to most parts of the country for much of the intervening period. This was upgraded to advise against all travel to parts of the country on Saturday, with the red alert extended to cover the whole country on Sunday. Solomon and Voshina had previously been evacuated from Ukraine in 2022, when the winger played for Shakhtar Donetsk. The Israel international then joined Fulham on a loan deal, before signing for Tottenham on a permanent basis in 2023. Solomon spent last season on loan at Leeds and scored the goal which secured the club the Championship title. The conflict has also seen Iranian forward Mehdi Taremi be stranded in Tehran. He had flown back to his homeland to accept Iran's Footballer of the Year award, with the intention of then joining up with his team-mates in the United States for the Club World Cup. A top Iranian official claimed on Monday that Pakistan has threatened to drop a nuclear warhead on Israel if Benjamin Netanyahu uses nuclear weapons against Iran. General Mohsen Rezaee, a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a member of Iran's National Security Council, said in an interview: 'Pakistan has assured us that if Israel uses a nuclear bomb on Iran, they will attack Israel with a nuclear bomb.' Pakistan and Israel are two of the nine countries that currently possess nuclear weapons, according to experts. Rezaee claimed that Pakistan has vowed to 'stand behind Iran', and called on the Islamic world to unite against Israel. Today, Pakistan's defence minister Khwaja Asif denied Rezaee's claims, reportedly saying: 'Pakistan is signatory to all international nuclear disciplines; our nuclear capability is for our people's benefit and defence against hostile designs.' Last night, he noted that the world appears to be teetering on the edge of conflict as a result of the escalating attacks in the Middle East. '[The] Western world must worry about conflicts generated by Israel. 'It will engulf the whole region and beyond; their patronage of Israel, a rogue state, can have catastrophic consequences.' On Monday, a spokesperson for Israel's military said that Israel has 'achieved full aerial control above Tehran'. Israeli media have reported that 24 people have been killed by Iranian attacks since Friday, while Iran has said 224 people have died following Israeli attacks.

Rangers have told interested clubs they will demand a 'high price' for star striker Hamza Igamane this summer, according to reports in France. The Moroccan international has courted interest from the English Premier League for a number of months, with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton both linked to the 22-year-old during the January transfer window. That interest does not appear to have subsided in the post-season either, with reports in Europe claiming clubs are circling for the Rangers hitman. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad A £2million signing from AS Far last summer, Igamane had an impressive debut campaign in Glasgow, scoring 16 goals in all competitions - including a memorable late winner in a 3-2 win over rivals Celtic in March. Capable of playing as a main striker, or on the left-hand side of a front three, the youngster had adapted well to the Scottish Premiership, and has shown his goal scoring instincts in Europe too, scoring four times during the club's Europa League campaign last season. Rangers striker Hamza Igamane has transfer interest from the English Premier League. | SNS Group His form has led to a trio of English top flight clubs being linked to a potential transfer ahead of the new season, though Rangers hold all the cards due to Igamane still having four years to run on his current deal at Ibrox. As interest in the player grows, new reports claim it will take a 'high price' for the club to even considering selling the Moroccan. 'Three teams looking for a number 9 are very interested in Igamane,' claim Footmercato. 'West Ham, who are eyeing a striker, have set their sights on Lucas Stassin (ASSE) as well as the Moroccan striker (Igamane), who the Hammers are very fond of. The same goes for Everton, who are looking to bring fresh blood to their attack, as neither Beto, nor Armando Broja, nor Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose contract expires in June 2025, have been satisfactory. 'As for Brentford, the situation is similar, with their attack too reliant on the Wissa-Mbeumo duo. The latter is reportedly leaving for Manchester United or Arsenal. However, for all suitors, it will be necessary to pay a high price to convince Rangers to sell Igamane.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad However, one potential option that could tempt Rangers to sell would be if Everton included ex-Ibrox academy product Nathan Patterson in a swap deal, according to a new report. LiverpoolWorld say that Patterson 'would relish the chance to return to Rangers and the club he supports but this time as the first choice with [James] Tavernier as his back up.' The Toffees have also been linked to Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande.
