Cyber fraud accused nabbed by Hyderabad police at Mumbai airport
The accused, Aludasu Sudhaker, was nabbed based on a Look Out Circular earlier issued by Hyderabad police.
An officer from the cyber crime wing said that Sudhaker, a resident of Saroornagar here, is allegedly part of a racket that orchestrated a sophisticated scam targeting a 48-year-old woman under the pretext of a legal investigation. 'Several others linked to the same racket had already been arrested in December last year. They include Dharavath Rajkumar, a dancer, Kaluvala Abhilash Reddy and Alladi Tharun, both private sector employees, and Gattu Pavan, also working in Hyderabad. All were identified as account suppliers or holders,' said the officer.
The case came to light when the victim, a woman, received an automated call on November 12 last year, claiming that her Airtel services would be suspended. She was then transferred through a chain of fraudsters posing as various officials, a woman operator, a DCP and a CBI officer named Rajesh Mishra. They accused her of involvement in a money laundering case linked to Naresh Goyal and claimed that she held illicit bank accounts in Mumbai.
The victim, after realising she had been duped, approached the Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad, prompting the registration of the case under serious sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The group's modus operandi was to impersonate enforcement agencies like the CBI, ED or Customs, allege fictitious criminal cases such as terrorism or narcotics trafficking, and then psychologically corner the victims into draining their financial reserves. Victims were told the money was to be 'deposited with the Supreme Court' to prove their innocence.
Police seized a smartphone used in the crime and a Visa Platinum debit card belonging to an absconding Dubai-based accused, Ashok Kumar Javvaji, reportedly running a digital marketing outfit.

A terror recruitment and financing module operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander Abdullah Ghazi, alias Shaukat Ali, from Rawalpindi, Pakistan, has been busted. Ten individuals have been detained for questioning. The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) traced suspicious technical signatures through a specific encrypted messaging application widely used by terrorists and their handlers for coordinating, financing, and executing terror activities during today's raids. The investigation revealed that Ghazi was in continuous contact with local Kashmiri youth, attempting to radicalise them for recruitment into JeM and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Raids were conducted at 10 locations with a focus on disrupting a terrorist sleeper cell and recruitment module. Sleeper cells consist of individuals who blend into society, often without the knowledge of family or friends and engage in covert activities such as target killings, grenade attacks, or distributing terrorist propaganda. During the raids, several documents and digital devices, including mobile phones, were seized, providing critical evidence to unravel the terror network. Ten suspects were detained for allegedly using encrypted apps to coordinate with handlers across the border. The operation highlighted a shift in terror strategy toward 'Cyber Jihad,' where Pakistan-based operatives use encrypted apps, proxy numbers (including Indian ones), and virtual identities to radicalize youth. The process involves identifying vulnerable individuals on public platforms, then shifting to encrypted apps for mission assignments such as surveillance, arms transport, target selection and luring them with promises of financial rewards and religious justification. This is the fifth major digital terror module dismantled by CIK, following similar operations against Pakistan-based terrorist handlers. With declining local recruitment, Pakistan-based terror groups like JeM and LeT have increasingly relied on digital platforms for radicalising and recruiting Kashmiri youth into terror organisations.

Theft at Sangeeta Bijlani's bungalow: Cops probing two suspicious finger prints, FIR lodged
A team of Pune Rural Police investigating the theft at Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani's bungalow has zeroed in on two suspicious fingerprints found at the crime scene. Unidentified persons burgled and vandalised Bijlani's bungalow located at Tikona Peth near Pawana dam in Maval taluka of Pune district. Mohammad Mujif Khan (54), who is a personal assistant (PA) of her ex-husband and former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin, lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at Lonavala Rural Police Station on Saturday. Police inspector Ganesh Tayade on Saturday said, 'The forensic team visited the crime scene today and has found two suspicious fingerprints at the bungalow. We are probing the two fingerprints.' 'Two teams have been formed for investigation. CCTVs at the bungalow damaged. But we are checking the DVR. Theft took place sometime between 4 pm of March and 9.30 am of July 18,' Tayade said. Police said the theft came to light when Bijlani visited the bungalow on Friday morning and was shocked to see its condition. The window grills and main door were broken, while some of the furniture, electronic gadgets and the CCTV cameras were damaged. Bijlani then submitted a complaint application to Sandeep Singh Gill, the superintendent of Pune rural police. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against the unidentified accused persons under sections 331 (3), 331(4), 305(a), 324(4), 324(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. As per the FIR, the burglars entered the bungalow by breaking the wall compound mesh on the rear side. Police suspect the burglars then broke into the bungalow by tampering with the window grills on the first floor and stole Rs 50,000 in cash and an old television worth Rs 7,000. Another television set along with beds and other items in the bungalow were damaged, police said. According to police, there was no watchman or security guard at the spot. Police said Bijlani had earlier visited the bungalow on March 7. She told the police that she could visit the place later for about four months due to her father's health problems.

Agra: Six people, including five members of a Delhi-based family, were killed and at least 20 were injured, some critically, in two separate road crashes -- one involving a car and the other a bus, within a span of 30 minutes and a few kilometres apart -- on the busy Yamuna Expressway in Mathura early on Saturday. In both incidents, police said prima facie, it seemed that the drivers dozed off at the wheel. I n the first incident, a car with eight people travelling from Delhi to Agra collided with a heavy vehicle, possibly a truck, near milestone 140 close to Sarai Salwan around 3:30am, leaving six occupants dead on the spot. Two women were critically injured, police said, adding the impact left the vehicle completely mangled. Police said Dharmveer Singh (55), who was involved in the catering business, his sons Rohit Singh (20) and Aryan Singh (16), and nephews Dalveer Singh Tomar (26) and Paras Singh Tomar (22) died in the crash while Rohit's friend Dushyant Singh (22) was the sixth fatality. Dharmveer's wife, Soni Singh (51) and daughter Payal Singh (24) are in critical condition at a private hospital in Agra. The second road crash occurred around 4am near milestone 131 when a private bus on way from Delhi to Bhind, MP, overturned. The bus was ferrying around 65 people, mostly regular commuters. At least 25 suffered injuries, police said. SSP (Mathura) Shlok Kumar said, "We're making arrangements for the return journey of bus passengers. Investigation is on in the case of the fatal car crash."
