Keri Russell admits she's ‘still not sure' she wants to be an actress but ‘really loves' her job right now
But that doesn't mean she's too tethered to the job title actress. In fact, Russell, 49, recently revealed how she views her career in Hollywood.
'I didn't grow up desperate to be an actress,' the star said while at the Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable. 'I'm still not sure I want to be. But I really love my job right now. There are a lot of things that are still embarrassing to me. I'm not a performer at ease.'

However, when it comes to Russell's partner of nine years, Matthew Rhys, he's all in for his craft.

'[With] Matthew, for instance, I'll say, 'What are you doing this week?' And he'll go, 'Oh, I'm just going to do this play reading. I haven't done a German or Russian accent in a while and I just want to try it out,'' she revealed. 'That's my nightmare! I would f–king die. I don't want to f–king do that in front of strangers! For me, there's a real push-pull. I still have to overcome the obstacle of being nervous, but this version of TV that we're in works for me.'

On the show, the actress played Felicity Porter, who discovers what life is really like after graduating high school, opposite Scott Speedman and Scott Foley. When the series wrapped, Russell left Los Angeles for New York and never moved back.
'I like my regular life,' she confessed at the roundtable. 'It's always such a funny thing when you see any big, super famous movie star. We've all worked with those people. I think [about how] they can't even go outside. They don't know what it's like to be a real person. They don't get their own coffee. They don't do their own laundry.'
'How do they play a real person? I don't want to talk shit too much about acting. I am completely married to the adventure of it, and that's what I'm in it for,' Russell added. 'I love to [shoot] in some strange city — it could be Paris or some little Southern town — and learn the city, meet new people and find my little thing.'

'Felicity' went on to win her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in 1999.
Over the years, the 'Waitress' alum has had a slew of iconic roles. From 2013 to 2018, Russell played KGB spy Elizabeth Jennings opposite Rhys, 50, as her on-screen husband and fellow KGB spy, Phillip on the FX series 'The Americans.'
It was also on that drama, that her romance with the 'Burnt' actor began.

Now Russell stars on Netflix's 'The Diplomat,' with its third season set to premiere in the fall.
Although she's worked in a variety of genres over the years, the Hollywood vet can't help but look back at typecasting that went on in the early days.
As she put it, 'I went through a phase where it was just a nice pregnant mom. That was a Keri Russell type.'

According to a source, it was especially important for them to remain cordial so they could be around their daughter, Daisy, 4, "separately or together." "Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando," one source said. "He's the father of their daughter and that will always come first for her." The source added, "They've been through a lot together and while they've decided to go their separate ways, there's still a mutual respect between them. They're still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together. For the sake of their daughter, they're committed to keeping things amicable." "I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren's home and Occult Museum, including being the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years, of the entire haunted collection including THE ANNABELLE DOLL, with my good friend @eltoncastee!!" Rife posted on Instagram, along with a photo of him and Castee posing with the supposedly demonic doll and other photos of the Warrens at home. "If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. You also may know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I'm incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history. The Hollywood Reporter said the house had been open to the public until Lorraine's death, but closed afterwards due to zoning issues.

Mom Recalls Heartbreak After One Kid Shows Up for Son's Birthday Party

A mom on TikTok recently shared a series of emotionally charged photographs from her son's birthday party in 2010, which was attended by just one other child. Joanna DeRose from Dallas took to the social media platform posting as @joderose76, to revisit the party she organized for her son Russell's birthday at a Chuck E. Cheese, while heavily pregnant, in December 2010. The TikTok video, which was posted in June, currently has 1.2 million views and over 172,000 likes. "The only child that attended was a year old," DeRose told Newsweek. "We were friends with his parents." Organizing a child's birthday party can be a stressful experience, with everything from the entertainment to the cake to consider. It's also a task that's not taken lightly by moms and dads either. A 2023 survey of 2,000 parents with kids aged between 3 and 12 conducted by Talker Research on behalf of Kinder Joy, revealed 78 percent of respondents put pressure on themselves to make their kid's birthday parties as amazing as possible. DeRose certainly put work into making Russell's birthday as memorable as possible. Unfortunately, her memories of it are tinged with sadness. "I was so sad when none of his friends showed up," DeRose said. "It took me back to when I had a birthday party in 6th grade. I invited a lot of friends, and only two people showed up." How "mom had a headache" or "the grandparents came over, and they wanted to spend time with their grandchild instead of the child going to the party." The fact Russell's birthday is in December was also a factor for some of the non-attendees, with one telling DeRose: "They were going to come, but they got busy with Christmas shopping." But despite feeling a sense of personal frustration at what happened, Russell ended up having the best time. "My son didn't have a care in the world," she said. "He was just happy to be at Chuck E. Cheese. I'll never forget how excited he got when he was Chuck E and his cake. That kept me going that day." The pictures on TikTok certainly suggest Russell had a great time. That's partly why his mom decided to share them online, more than a decade later. "My experiences might help someone feel less alone who had the same experience," she said. "I wish I had focused more on enjoying the moment with my son instead of worrying about people not showing up." DeRose said the family decided to take a different approach to birthdays after what happened that year. "We didn't do birthday parties after this," she said. "We did experiences instead. As he got older, he would invite a couple of friends." Though the memory of what happened still stings for DeRose, the good news is that it didn't leave much of an impression on Russell at all. "He doesn't remember that day," she added. "He's a teenager now and is always with his friends."
