Emmy-winning Detroit TV reporter's home searched by authorities amid sexual harassment probe

New York Post19-06-2025
The investigator becomes the investigated.
Authorities in Detroit searched the home of an Emmy-winning television reporter who co-hosts a podcast with a Los Angeles Rams player's wife following alleged sexual misconduct.
3 Television reporter Hank Winchester's home was searched by authorities following reports of alleged unwanted sexual advances with a man during a massage.

Hank Winchester, an investigative reporter at the NBC-affiliated WDIV Local 4 station and host of HelpMeHank, is married to Oakland County Circuit Judge Jacob Cunningham, according to Winchester's Instagram. The two also share a young daughter.
Beverly Hills Police searched his home alongside the Oakland County Sheriff's Office while executing a search warrant related to alleged unwanted sexual advances Winchester made toward a man during a massage, as reported by Fox 2.
Winchester also co-hosts 'The Morning After' podcast with Kelly Stafford, who is married to LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The show occasionally features high-profile guests employed by media powerhouses like Access Hollywood and ESPN.

Before joining the Rams, Matthew Stafford played for the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2020. Winchester has been close with the entire family for years, he wrote in a farewell to the Staffords when they moved to LA in 2021.
Winchester was also placed on administrative leave as a result of the 'external investigation,' WDIV Vice President Bob Ellis wrote in a statement.

Todd Flood, Winchester's attorney, is confident the probe will flop.
'Hank has spent decades bringing truth to our community and fighting for our citizens. Because he holds a high-profile position in our community, that can at times generate false accusations. This investigation will end where it began – nowhere,' he wrote.
No charges have been filed. The investigation is still ongoing.
Winchester isn't the only media figure to find himself facing similar allegations in recent months.
In April, a disgraced weatherman in Virginia was arrested after allegedly making a sex tape and using it to extort his victims.
Last year, a Louisiana television anchor resigned after he was caught sexting who he thought was a 15-year-old girl but was in reality a vigilante trio dubbed the 'predator hunters.'

Dodgers regain NL West lead from Padres as Snell shuts down his former team in 6-0 win

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Blake Snell limited his former team to five hits in six innings, and the Los Angeles Dodgers regained the NL West lead with a 6-0 victory over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night. The Dodgers drew six walks over the first two innings against Padres right-hander Dylan Cease, when they scored five runs on just one hit. Teoscar Hernandez hit his 20th homer of the season in the fifth inning. Michael Conforto had a two-run single in the first inning for Los Angeles (70-53), which pulled even with San Diego (69-54) by winning the opener Friday. The Padres had taken sole possession of first place in the division Wednesday. Snell (3-1) was making his first start against the Padres after leaving the club following the 2023 season, when he won the NL Cy Young Award. He walked two and struck out three. Cease (5-11) gave up two hits but walked six in 3 1/3 innings. He allowed five runs — three earned. The first three Dodgers batters of the game – Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Will Smith – all walked and scored in the first inning. Ohtani and Smith also walked in the second and scored when Padres center fielder Jackson Merrill dropped Freddie Freeman's flyball at the warning track in right-center field. Key stat San Diego made three of its first four outs of the game on stolen-base attempts, as Smith threw out Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and Xander Bogaerts at second base in the first two innings. Up next Padres RHP Yu Darvish (2-3, 5.61 ERA) and Dodgers RHP Tyler Glasnow (1-1, 3.08) will face off Sunday afternoon in the finale of the three-game series. ___

Stetson Bennett rallies Rams to 23-22 preseason win over Chargers, overcoming D-line interception

Stetson Bennett rebounded from throwing a fourth-quarter interception to 305-pound defensive tackle TeRah Edwards, hitting Tru Edwards with an 8-yard touchdown pass with 5 seconds left while leading the Los Angeles Rams to a 23-22 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night. Bennett passed for 324 yards and three scores in his second straight sharp preseason performance — even if he failed to anticipate the ball-hawking skill and silky lateral movement of the hulking Edwards, who never had an interception in five seasons split between Northwestern and Illinois. The rookie picked off Bennett's throw, thundered downfield and even threw a head fake before plowing over Bennett and finally tripping at midfield to end his 29-yard return with 6:35 to play, setting off an unsurprisingly unhinged celebration on the Bolts' sideline. But Bennett shook it off with the poise of a two-time national champion and drove the Rams (2-0) downfield in the final seconds. Brennan Presley made an acrobatic 40-yard catch between two defenders with 11 seconds to play, setting up Edwards' winning catch on the next play. Justin Herbert went 2 of 5 for 46 yards while playing the opening series in his first-ever preseason game for the Chargers (2-1), who were the visiting team at the clubs' shared stadium. Luke Grimm returned a punt 66 yards for the Bolts' go-ahead touchdown with 12:36 left. Trey Lance passed for 121 yards, and second-round pick Tre Harris had six catches for 85 yards. Herbert never played in an exhibition game before his first five NFL seasons, but the Chargers' $262.5-million quarterback asked for some limited action in this outing to get some work with the Bolts' revamped offense, which is now missing starting left tackle Rashawn Slater. Herbert's only series was interrupted when receiver Quentin Johnston went down hard and left the field on a cart. Herbert also took a sack two plays before the Chargers kicked a field goal. Raheim Sanders rushed for a 1-yard TD in the third quarter set up by Lance's exceptional 34-yard completion to Harris. Bennett hit Mario Williams for a 38-yard touchdown on the final play of the third, putting an exceptional downfield throw directly in the hands of the former USC receiver. The two-time national champion quarterback at the University of Georgia also threw a 2-yard TD pass to rookie Konata Mumpfield in the first half. Grimm, an undrafted rookie receiver who only returned five punts in five seasons at Kansas, broke through the Rams' coverage unit and got down the Chargers' sideline for a score. Aubrey Pleasant served as the Rams' head coach for the game, with Sean McVay handing the reins to his assistant head coach and passing game coordinator. The Chargers finish the preseason in Santa Clara against the 49ers on Aug. 23. The Rams travel nearly 2,400 miles to face the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 23.
