WWE Legend Randy Orton's Female Rapper Mount Rushmore Includes Cardi B, GloRilla, And More

Yahoo09-05-2025
Between his viral photo with Migos and having a song named after him by Key Glock, WWE legend Randy Orton is one of the most popular wrestlers within the Hip-Hop space. He is equally a fan of the genre, and recently revealed his female rapper Mount Rushmore, which included Cardi B, GloRilla, and more.
The 45-year-old wrestler first revealed his love for the women lyricists in the game back in October on an episode of Celtic Warrior Workouts with fellow WWE superstar Sheamus. In his interview with Billboard this week, he dove a bit deeper as to why they've made his playlist. 'These women can f**king rap,' he said. 'It's a little risqué, and I'm bumping it loud. I have a nice system in my home gym and when I'm working out, I'm playing Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, GloRilla, KenTheMan, every one I name [from the Sheamus workout video], Baby Tate, Nicki Minaj, BIA.'
Billboard Senior Director of Hip-Hop & R&B Carl Lamarre put Orton on the spot, asking him to name what four rappers would go on his Mount Rushmore. 'I think [Cardi B] and [Nicki Minaj] have to be up there,' he said. 'F**k. [Megan Thee Stallion] and GloRilla.' Though many would likely agree with these picks for the modern era of Hip-Hop, Lamarre suggested he be careful that fellow St. Louis native Sexyy Red didn't find out that she missed his initial list, especially after they bonded at an NXT show last year.
'Ah, man. You know what? I get in trouble with my wife if I play her songs in the gym,' Randy Orton said with a laugh. 'I got to meet Sexyy at an NXT show in October and my wife and kids were there. She was great, and of course she's from St. Louis. I don't know who I'd take off, but maybe we'll do a top five [and] throw Sexyy in there, too.'
Perhaps the 14-time world champion will get the chance to hang out with Cardi B as well, as she will host WWE SummerSlam in August. This year marks the first time that the annual event will take place over two nights, Aug. 2-3, and will also be WWE's return to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for the first time in over a decade. It is also special for the Bronx rapper, as her 2021 hit 'Up' was synced for that year's SummerSlam event in Las Vegas and this will be her first official WWE appearance after years of teases.
There are currently no matches booked for the event, however, one can easily assume that current WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena will make the card as he is on his retirement tour that will end in December. He won his record-breaking 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas last month, defeating Cody Rhodes with the help of Travis Scott. Cena defends that title against Orton this weekend at WWE Backlash, in Randy's hometown of St. Louis.

Tomorrow X Together Joins BTS With A New Bestseller

There are several names in the K-pop space that regularly beat and then tie one another by releasing new albums and EPs, all of which become hugely successful in the United States. These groups are known for their prolific output, and some acts manage more than one set per year, breaking into the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart over and over again. It seems like every few weeks, someone's record is matched with a new project — which Tomorrow X Together manages this time around with its new bestseller, The Star Chapter: Together. The Star Chapter: Together Debuts on the Billboard 200 Tomorrow X Together launches The Star Chapter: Together at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 this frame. The project earns the K-pop favorites a seventh appearance inside the top 10 on the all-encompassing ranking of the most consumed albums in America. As it arrives, the boy band matches several other names for a highly coveted spot in Billboard chart history. TXT Joins BTS, Ateez, Seventeen and Twice With seven top 10s in its discography, Tomorrow X Together is now on the same level as Ateez, BTS, Seventeen, and Twice. All five acts have sent the same number of projects into the highest tier, and several have managed a seventh just in the past few weeks. Both BTS and Twice recently collected new top 10 wins in America, and all five are expected to deliver additional material, if not before the end of 2025, then in early 2026. TXT Beats Stray Kids Before The Star Chapter: Together, Tomorrow X Together was tied with Stray Kids at six top 10s apiece on the Billboard 200. That meant the two groups were matched for fifth place on this all-time list. Now, Tomorrow X Together jumps into a tie for first while Stray Kids decline to sixth. Stray Kids are also known for their frequent releases, so a seventh top 10 could be coming soon. First-Week Sales Propel TXT to No. 1 Luminate reports that in its first full tracking week, The Star Chapter: Together shifted 65,000 equivalent units in the U.S. Of that sum, 62,000 were pure sales – enough to send the K-pop act to No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Most No. 1s on the Top Album Sales Chart Tomorrow X Together also moves up on several historic lists connected to the Top Album Sales ranking. The group breaks its tie with Seventeen and now claims the most No. 1s ever among K-pop stars, while also advancing to 10 top 10s. In doing so, the boy band becomes just the second South Korean act to rack up double-digit appearances in the top 10 on the purchase-only tally, joining BTS, as that group has done so 11 times.

Lisa Matches Her Bandmate On Billboard's Radio Chart

Blackpink's comeback has begun as the South Korean girl group's new single "Jump" continues to live on multiple Billboard charts and remains a huge smash all around the world. Several of the four women who make up the globe-dominating band are also present on tallies in the United States as soloists, as all of them focused on their own careers in between Blackpink eras. Lisa is having a great week, in particular, as she claims two radio wins in the U.S., and both manage to move up on important all-time rankings. Lisa's 'Priceless' Climbs At the moment, "Priceless," Lisa's collaboration with Maroon 5, is her biggest hit. That track lives on four rankings and climbs on one of them, the Adult Contemporary chart, where it hits a new high of No. 17. The tune simultaneously reaches a lucky 13 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart, the main list of the biggest singles at top 40 radio. As it reaches that milestone, "Priceless" becomes a historic win among K-pop acts. Fourth-Longest-Running Hit by a Female K-Pop Soloist "Priceless" now ranks as the fourth-longest-running song by any female K-pop soloist in the history of the Pop Airplay chart. In this instance, musicians are classified as K-pop acts if they are primarily known for their output in that style. Lisa does not originally hail from South Korea, and she has produced work that can be labeled under other genres, such as pop and hip-hop, but since she got her start as one-fourth of Blackpink, she will forever be known — at least in some circles — as a K-pop star. Last week, "Priceless" was on the same level as "Toxic Till the End" by fellow Blackpink member Rosé. Both tunes managed an even dozen frames on the Pop Airplay ranking, but now "Priceless" has advanced beyond Rosé's single. Rosé Holds the All-Time Record Rosé still owns the record for the longest stay on the Pop Airplay tally among female K-pop soloists. She and Bruno Mars kept "Apt." on the list for 28 weeks. Lisa comes in second place with "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)," the only other tune by a K-pop female solo musician to live on the list for 20 frames or more, as it held on for exactly 20 turns. Jennie, one of the other two members of Blackpink, hit big with "One of the Girls" alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp. That R&B tune racked up 15 stays on the roster. 'Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)' Ties a Different Record While "Priceless" can be found on the Radio Songs, Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary, and Adult Pop Airplay charts, "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)" is only still going on the Adult Contemporary tally. Lisa's solo cut hits its milestone twentieth frame on the radio roster, and in doing so, ties with two other tunes as the second-longest-running hit by any K-pop artist. Lisa matches two BTS behemoths: "My Universe" with Coldplay and "Dynamite." Rosé and Mars' "Apt." sits three weeks ahead with 23 turns on the roster.

Hip-Hop Anniversary: 45 Songs For You Ultimate Southern Rap Playlist

Source: Frank Micelotta Archive / Getty The famous saying 'The south has something to say' by André 3000 at the 1995 Source Awards, while OutKast accepted the New Artist Of The Year Award over a chorus of boos from a less than happy audience, has become something of a mantra for southern rappers and those who love it. Related: Happy Birthday Hip-Hop: No. 1 Rap Songs by Year Since 1989 It is hard to imagine a world where a powerful hip-hop duo would be met with such disdain from any self-proclaimed hip-hop head. To understand the famous statement is to also understand the roots of how in the early years of hip-hop, its newness wasn't quite accepted yet. The subgenre of Southern rap was completely ostracized as a whole. The Southern hip-hop sound had just been born around the late 1980s, during a time when rappers of the East and West Coast dominated. By the mid-1990s, Atlanta had become a hub for the Southern rap scene, and by the early 2000s, artists in the South began to develop mainstream popularity. Despite its popularity in recent years in the genre, southern rap is hardly recognized during celebrations of Hip-Hop. Though several artists of today are dominating the rap scene, like Megan Thee Stallion, Big K.R.I.T., GloRilla, BigXthePlug, Doechii, just to name a few, rappers in the dirty south still don't get the credit that they deserve. But, as 3 Stacks said with a fire in his belly during a pivotal moment in OutKast's career, the south will and still has something to say. For Hip-Hop's 52nd anniversary today, we have compiled an ultimate Southern rap playlist. Because, despite the erasure of the Dirty South in Hip-Hop celebrations, the South will always be a staple in the past, present and future of hip-hop.
