Cape Town couple arrested on child porn charges allegedly abused their own children
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk, a multidisciplinary team comprising members of the national and Western Cape Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations (SECI) Units, and officials from the Department of Social Development (DSD), supported by the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested the 47-year-old woman and 48-year-old man in Bloubergstrand on Tuesday.
They were found at a house identified through joint investigative efforts.
They face multiple charges, including the production of CSAM (commonly referred to as child pornography), rape, sexual assault, and sexual grooming.
The two children were rescued during the operation and have since been put in a place of safety.
Several electronic devices were seized.
Last month, the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) seized assets, including a luxury vehicle and R647 300 in cash belonging to Darryn Wilken and his girlfriend, Tiona Megan Moodley.
Investigations by various law enforcement agencies, including the US Secret Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), led to their arrests.
The couple faces charges for allegedly running a child pornography website, offering material for sale internationally.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said along with the cash and vehicle, the unit also seized high-end electronic equipment.
'It (Wilken's luxury vehicle) brazenly reflected a registration number 'KIDZ NA GP'. The luxury vehicle, high-end electronic equipment and R647 300 in cash were the subjects of the search and seizure warrant,' she said.

Man charged in standoff at Dirksen Federal Courthouse to be released Thursday
The man behind an hours-long standoff last month at Chicago's Dirksen Federal Courthouse will be released from federal custody on Thursday. Mario Santoyo, 38, is facing the charge of possession of a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors said on Tuesday, July 22, Santoyo went into the courthouse, at 219 S. Dearborn St. downtown, and asked to speak to the FBI about "gangsters" he said were trying to kill him. When he was told the FBI does not have an office in the building, prosecutors said Santoyo held a knife to his throat — which put the building on lockdown. A standoff with Santoyo ensued, and went on all through the afternoon and well into the evening. A large FBI, SWAT and Chicago police presence responded to the scene, as well as agents from the Department of Homeland Security and unmarked police vehicles. It was not until just before 8 p.m. that Santoyo was tackled by law enforcement and removed from the courthouse lobby on a stretcher. He had suffered a neck wound. Santoyo's next court date is set for Oct. 9.

Brockton High School choral director facing human trafficking charges
The Brockton High School choral director was arrested on Tuesday morning and is now facing human trafficking charges. Police say that the arrest is the result of several months of investigation into 35-year-old Matthew Cunningham of Brockton. They say that Cunningham met up with an underage boy on April 27, "performed a sexual act" on him, then paid the boy on an app, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz. The app flagged the transaction and informed the FBI, who told Brockton Police. The victim was a student at Brockton High School, according to the DA's office. Police arrested Cunningham at his home just after 10 a.m., and he was seen in court shortly after. He is charged with sexual conduct for a fee and trafficking a person for sexual servitude. He has pleaded not guilty. He has been ordered to stay away from both the victim and Brockton Public Schools, as well as stay off social media, give officials his passport and remain in Massachusetts. He is being held on $25,000 bail. Brockton Public Schools said that it immediately placed Cunningham on paid administrative leave. "We are deeply troubled by the allegations in this case," Brockton Public Schools said in a statement. "Our priority at this time is the safety and well-being of our students, and we are actively working to marshal the resources necessary to support the Brockton High School community, especially those who are feeling in any way impacted by this situation." He is scheduled to appear in Brockton District Court on September 18. Brockton Police are investigating and plan to search Cunningham's cell phone.

FBI investigation in Seymour, Indiana ends with 11 undocumented immigrants arrested
The FBI announced 11 undocumented immigrants were arrested in Seymour after a joint effort with ICE, the Seymour Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. In a news release, the FBI said the arrests were targeting individuals who have already been charged or convicted with various crimes or who had unlawfully entered the U.S. Those crimes including narcotics trafficking, sexual battery, child molesting, domestic violence, strangulation and possession of numerous illegal weapons. 'This was not a sweep, nor did it involve schools or other sensitive locations," said Seymour Police Department Chief Greg O'Brien. "The focus was solely on removing dangerous offenders to protect the safety of our residents." One person had previously been deported five times, the release said. 'Individuals who are unlawfully in this country and who commit violent crimes pose a serious threat to our communities,' said FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Timothy J. O'Malley. 'Working with our federal and local partners and removing these individuals from our neighborhoods protects Hoosier families and reinforces our shared commitment to uphold the law.'
