WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is disappointed following what would be his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event XL. The 58-year-old wrestling legend was expecting to walk out of a retirement bout this past weekend with his head held high, only to leave the ring feeling disrespected instead of celebrated after his showdown with Gunther.
Goldberg told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he was very upset about how his iconic career came to an end.
In a candid and emotionally charged moment, Goldberg said:
"Let's just say I'm pissed off at the way I went out. I put so much into it, and I don't feel as though the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I've accomplished.'
Criticism directed at match build-up and execution
It was billed as a class, and fans were expecting a seismic showdown, but while it was physical and competitive, the match never really had the epic conclusion that many had hoped for.
Although Goldberg appeared to be in remarkable shape and had fantastic cardio, the pacing and story of the match lacked the weight of a retirement from someone of his stature. Others have blamed WWE's booking, claiming they did not give the venerated veteran the emotional payoff and respect a star of his stature deserved, while not holding back on criticism of Gunther's performance.
As if that wasn't enough, Goldberg's farewell right after his match was suddenly interrupted on live television.

However, other reports stated that WWE experienced timing issues during the show earlier in the night, which caused the broadcast to cut off just as Goldberg began speaking. The millions watching at home, meanwhile, were not gifted a proper goodbye; he finished the speech for the live audience.

What lies ahead for Goldberg
Although it was a sour finish, Goldberg reiterated that his story isn't in the squared circle. He suggested that there were plans aplenty to fulfill outside the ring, including a family get-together, as well as pursuing various media opportunities in the pipeline. But his statements to Helwani made clear that this was not the sendoff he imagined for a decades-long career and multiple pro wrestling promotions.
For fans, this moment marks the close of an age. For Goldberg, the pain of an unceremonious exit may last forever, but so too will the craftsmanship of a man who created the blueprints for present-day pro wrestling.

'A coach also needs time': Harbhajan Singh backs split-coaching system as Gautam Gambhir's Test team falters

Gautam Gambhir NEW DELHI: In the wake of India's contrasting fortunes under Gautam Gambhir across formats, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has advocated for a split-coaching system, suggesting that separate coaches for red-ball and white-ball cricket could be beneficial for the national team. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Gambhir, who took charge as India's head coach following the T20 World Cup 2024, has found early success in the shorter formats. India clinched the ICC Champions Trophy under him and have recorded 13 wins and two defeats in T20Is since he took over. However, the same success has eluded the team in Tests, where they are currently trailing 1-2 in the five-match series against England, following a whitewash by New Zealand and a series defeat to Australia. Why Team India came to Manchester from London via train and walked in rain Speaking to India Today, Harbhajan Singh made a compelling case for format-specific coaching roles. Poll Should India adopt a split-coaching system for red-ball and white-ball cricket? Yes, it will enhance performance. No, one coach is sufficient. "I feel if it can be implemented, there is nothing wrong in it. You have different teams and different players for formats. If we can do it, it's a good option. It will reduce workload for everyone, including the coaches," Harbhajan said. He further explained that even coaches require time and mental space to prepare adequately for different formats, and managing all three consistently can be overwhelming. Sachin Tendulkar's first international hundred: The Farokh Engineer connection, bbq and a swing! "Your coach also needs time to prepare for a series. Like five Tests against Australia, then in England, then elsewhere. So the coach can prepare and set out what his team should be. The same goes for a white-ball coach. He will need time to prepare as well," he added. Highlighting the personal toll coaching can take, he emphasised: "If you overwork one coach for the whole year, he, too, has a family and responsibilities. Traveling constantly with family isn't easy. So yes, if you ask me, splitting red-ball and white-ball coaching is a good move." Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

"Anshul has left for Manchester and will join the squad for the remaining two Test matches as a cover," a BCCI source told The incident occurred when Arshdeep attempted to stop a shot from Sai Sudharsan during his follow-through in India's practice session on Thursday. Although Arshdeep is yet to make his Test debut, he was being considered as a potential replacement if the team opted to rest a frontline pacer for the fourth Test in Manchester. Why Team India came to Manchester from London via train and walked in rain India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate had also hinted that the team combination for the Old Trafford Test now hinges on the severity of Arshdeep's injury. 'We'll take a call on the combination we play,' he said. 'Particularly given the Arshdeep situation as well, we'll make that call closer to Manchester,' he added. Anshul was also part of the India A setup which played two three-day games last month. He took five wickets in the two games. Last season, the Karnal-born pacer created history after he became only the third cricketer after Bengal's Premangsu Chatterjee (1956–57) and Rajasthan's Pradeep Sundaram (1985–86) to take all ten wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy. Kamboj burst onto the scene when he took 17 wickets in ten games and helped Haryana lift the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2023. On the back of that performance, he bagged an IPL contract with Mumbai Indians and played three games. In IPL 2025, the Haryana seamer was part of the Chennai Super Kings outfit. After warming the bench in the early part of the season, he picked up eight wickets in as many games with an impressive economy rate of 8.00.
