The Boyz to make first full-unit comeback under new agency

Eleven-member boy group, The Boyz, is gearing up for its first full-group activity since changing agencies.
The Boyz, Monday, announced via official social media channels that it will make a comeback on March 17 with its third studio album, "Unexpected." The teaser video features iridescent particles gathering to form the word 'Unexpected' before dispersing to reveal the album's logo.
In a statement, agency One Hundred Label said, 'Since the group's debut, The Boyz have depicted the journey of a boy's growth through multiple albums. With the third studio album, they aim to express evolved identity and future direction with an unpredictable charm.'
Debuting in 2017 under IST Entertainment, The Boyz chose not to renew their contracts with the agency last year. Instead, all 11 members signed with One Hundred Label, the agency founded by singer-songwriter and producer MC Mong. During the transition, a dispute arose regarding the trademark rights to the group's name, but an agreement was eventually reached, allowing them to continue as The Boyz.
Kicking off 2025, the group recently held the fan meeting "The B Land" at Seoul's KSPO Dome from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, followed by additional fan meetings at Tokyo's Yoyogi National Gymnasium on Feb. 22-23. With the release of the new album, The Boyz is set to officially launch its activities for the year.

Han Seungwoo to drop digital single

Han Seungwoo will put out a digital single on April 20, said agency Aura Entertainment Monday. "Haengbok Hoero," or 'Happiness Circuit' (translated), will be his first endeavor in about 10 months since releasing 'Scene.' Han wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the melodies for all three tracks of the album: 'Blooming,' 'Lost' and 'Stay.' It continued the narrative of his third EP, 'Frame,' which made the top five of iTunes' Top Albums Chart in six regions. The upcoming digital single will be his first new release since signing with Aura Entertainment. He joined the company in December last year after his contract with IST Entertainment expired after 10 years. He was a member of Victon, which debuted in 2016 and was also part of X1, a project band formed through an audition show.

Ex-Victon Lim Sejun goes solo

Lim Sejun, formerly of Victon, announced a fan concert tour Monday via his agency WayBetter. He is planning to visit fans in Taiwan and Japan in June for the 'You're My Summer" tour, named after a physical single set to be dropped May 16. On the following day of the album release, he will host a concert in Seoul. This signals the beginning of his career as a soloist. He debuted in 2016 as a member of the seven-piece boy band Victon, which put out six EPs and one LP, as well as four singles. The members' contract with the management company IST Entertainment expired in 2023. Lim was discharged in December after serving his mandatory military service in the Army, and in February, he signed with his current agency. He participated in a musical last month.

The Boyz bring out LP No. 3

The Boyz made a comeback with third full-length album 'Unexpected' on Monday. As the album title suggests, the band has explored new genres and concepts for the album and the members are happy with the results. Although they are bringing out a new album in less than five months, a short term in K-pop cycle, the bandmates were more excited than concerned, Kevin said as they could 'feel how everyone was serious about music.' The fact that it is their first set after signing with new agency, One Hundred, in December, was not much of a factor in putting together an LP. 'It was more about wanting to make another memory as a full group,' said Sunwoo. Lead single 'VVV' best sums up the album and 'the music video and the choreography inspired by boxing are really cool,' according to Sangyeon. He will not be able to promote the album, however, as he is enlisting on the day of album release. He will serve as a member of Army marching band.
