CLINT Eastwood has hit out at an Austrian newspaper for publishing a bombshell interview he claims he never even gave.
The 95-year-old acting icon was directly quoted bashing Hollywood in the article - despite him now labelling the Q&A as "phoney".

Despite his age meaning his career on the big screen has all but finished, Eastwood's name was brought up again after his comments on the state of the film industry went viral.
Kurier, a Vienna-based paper with around 100,000 readers, published a major Q&A spread with the Dirty Harry star on Friday.
The main takeaway from the supposed interview was just how much Eastwood despised how reliant Hollywood has become on sequels and franchises.
One of Eastwood's responses to a journalist's question said: 'I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot.

SAD LOSS What we know about Clint Eastwood's late partner Christina Sandera
"When everyone had a new idea.
'We live in an era of remakes and franchises. I've shot sequels three times, but I haven't been interested in that for a long while.
"My philosophy is: do something new or stay at home.'
The answer stirred up days of debates from film buffs who argued both sides of the fence.
But Eastwood soon chimed in on the argument himself as he blasted the original interview as 'entirely phony".
He claims he has never given those comments to Kurier and hasn't been interviewed by anyone in the past few weeks.

The paper's editor has since conceded the quotes were in fact not from a formal interview with Eastwood who turned 95 last month.
Instead, they were repackaged by a writer who had spoken to the actor at more than a dozen media events in the past.
Elisabeth Sereda, a US-based Austrian journalist, had 'convincingly explained" to editor Martin Gebhart that her and Eastwood have met on 18 occasions at round table media events.
This meant the quotes were a compilation of statements made by the actor over the years.
But Gebhart did admit that the way the article was presented as a tell-it-all exclusive chat went against his quality standards.
He then said he will no longer work with the Sereda as of a result.
The story has also since been withdrawn from the paper's website entirely.
Gebhart said: 'Even though no quotes were fabricated, the interviews are documented, and the accusation of fabrication can be refuted, we will no longer work with the author in the future."
Michael Schumacher fake AI interview torment
MICHAEL Schumacher's family were paid £170,000 in compensation after a magazine published a fake AI-generated interview with the F1 racing legend.
German publication Die Aktuelle claimed last April to have secured a 'world exclusive' with the severely injured Ferrari great – who has not been seen in public since his 2013 skiing accident.
In a two-page spread, promoted with a picture of Schumacher, it claimed the seven-time F1 champ had said 'My life has totally changed'.
It promised it was not a story based on "half-sentences from friends" but it's "the incredible interview" with the F1 star with "redeeming answers to the most burning questions that the whole world has been asking for so long."
The rest of the article was written in Q&A form, with an AI chatbot designed to mimic celebrities making up the answers Michael would supposedly give.
The bot even spoke about the racing hero's physical condition, family and future recovery prospects.
Die Aktuelle only admitted the quotes, which used graphic details to describe his injuries, were written by a chatbot in a note on the inside pages.
The shameless interview just goes to show how "poisoned" bots can be weaponised, an expert warned.
Sereda is known for publishing celebrity based articles for Kurier and other Austrian media.
She is also a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and listed as a voting member on the website of the Golden Globes.
After Eastwood's admission, Jude Law's team also made similar comments on Sereda's work.
She had published an interview claiming to be from the English actor earlier this year.
Sources close to Law said no interview has ever taken place and that the only time those direct quotes would have been made would have been at a press conference at the Toronto international film festival last year.
Eastwood is still working as a director with his most recent movie being Juror #2 which was released in November last year.
He has long been an influential figure in Hollywood for bis longevity and ability.
Since breaking through with the 1964 film of A Fistful of Dollars, Eastwood has continued as a leading man for decades.
He has even received the ultimate honour as a director through two Academy Award's for best director with 1992's Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby in 2005.

White House announces $200 million ballroom in latest Trump change
The ballroom, which the White House expects to be completed before the end of Trump's term in 2029, will be able to hold 650 people, about 200 more than the White House's East Room, where presidents have historically held large receptions. Trump has frequently complained the White House lacks a proper large-scale ballroom for entertaining. "President Trump and other donors have generously committed to donating the funds necessary to build this $200 million structure," Leavitt said during a July 31 briefing with reporters. Leavitt did not name the donors at the press briefing, nor did the accompanying statement from the White House list them. USA TODAY reached out to the White House to clarify if the donor list would be made public Thursday evening and did not receive an immediate response. More: How Trump's personal aesthetic is redefining White House decor: 'I picked it all myself' Leavitt said the East Wing of the White House will be "modernized" as part of the project and that East Wing staffers, including aides to first lady Melania Trump, will be temporarily relocated. The East Wing, constructed in 1902, has been changed and renovated several times, Leavitt said, with a second story added in 1942. Leavitt said the ballroom will be "substantially separated" from the main building of the White House, yet "its theme and architectural heritage will be almost identical." The White House released a handful of renderings showing the interior of the ballroom will have white and gold walls and trimmings with large windows letting in natural light, while occupying a large footprint on the Whtie House's south lawn. The massive overhaul comes as Trump has pushed through several cosmetic changes at the White House, including an ongoing renovation of the Rose Garden, turning it into a stone patio; new gold embroidery throughout the Oval Office; and two soaring flag poles on the north and south lawns. More: Trump installs pair of 88-foot-tall new flag poles at the White House "President Trump is a builder at heart and has an extraordinary eye for detail," White House chief of staff Susie Wiles said in a statement. "The president and the Trump White House are fully committed to working with the appropriate organization to preserve the special history of the White House while building a beautiful ballroom that be enjoyed by future administrations and generations of Americans to come." The government has contracted Clark Construction to oversee the project and Washington-based McCrery Architects as the lead architect. Contributing: Reuters Reach Joey Garrison on X @joeygarrison.

The Scheme's Marvin says it's a miracle he's alive - after hundreds of last chances
Marvin Baird has been through umpteen jail sentences probation and overdoses, all down to drugs. But he now vows to get drug free and qualify as an addiction counsellor The Scheme star Marvin Baird claims that his very survival is a miracle after 'hundreds of last chances'. The chaotic and drug-addled life has been documented in technicolour the 15 years since the Ayrshire-based documentary first aired in 2010. But despite suffering overdoses and enduring several prison terms for drugs offences, Marvin claims he is now on the brink of a drug free life. He has set himself four 'achievable' objectives that all lead to him gaining a qualification to be a drugs support worker. And Marvin is now offering support to members of the recovery community in Kilmarnock. He said: 'I am as straight as I've been for years and I have laid down four objectives that I really think are achievable. 'I want to pass my driving test, get my house done up, get clean of all drugs, including methadone, and get qualified to be a drugs counsellor. 'I'm now miles ahead of anywhere I've been in a long time and I'm determined to make it all come together. 'I know better than anyone that it's a miracle that I'm still alive after what I've been through and I've seen scores of people die in Kilmarnock from overdoses. 'I've had so many last chances - hundreds of them probably - but I'm going to take this one.' Marvin, 45, became a star after he and partner Dayna McLaughlin allowed a fly-on-the-wall film crew to record their lives as drug addicts in the tough Onthank scheme in Kilmarnock. Since then he has been preyed upon by gangsters and spent a large proportion of his life in jail or on probation for drugs offences. Marvin said he is aware that the hard drugs scene has changed dramatically in recent years - and is now more deadly than ever after a wave of new super-strong opiates hit the streets. The Daily Record has revealed this week how drug deaths are spiralling again due to the spread of these new Nitazene drugs. Marvin said: 'I'd be scared to touch heroin these days because every day it seems someone has had an overdose and so many people are dying. 'I know people who watched The Scheme or read the papers might think I'm a bit of a waster but I come from a good family and I had a good upbringing. I'm now determined to show them that I can turn my life around. 'I'm 46 in September and by the time I'm 50 I want to be drug free and working as a counsellor." Marvin said his communication skills and traumatic life make him a perfect ear to listen to. He said: 'I know that I'm a good communicator and I definitely know what I'm talking about when it comes to drug addiction because I've lived it. 'I think I can make a connection with people and help them turn their own lives around.' In March last year Marvin dodged prison for heroin possession after a sheriff heard his 'life is looking up.' Looking visibly healthier and sporting new implant teeth, Marvin admitted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to being caught with three wraps of the drug at his home in 2023. He escaped with a £600 fine after lawyer Callum Armour told the court: 'It's been a lifelong battle for him. He's had a long period of abstinence. 'It tells me that his life is looking up at the moment.' Those claims were quashed when Marvin was later caught smoking heroin, which led to a Drug Treatment and Testing Order being applied to him, which he claims has helped him stop taking heroin. Annie Brown, founder of the Patchwork Recovery Community in Kilmarnock, said Marvin has been an active participant in group discussions and has helped people with the benefit of his own experience. She said: 'Marvin is very well known in Kilmarnock and elsewhere but here he is just part of the group. 'It might surprise a few people to know that he is a very good communicator and he has a lot of empathy. 'We are wishing him all the best with his recovery.' Marvin's turnaround is in contrast to some other reality stars from The Scheme. Marvin, his partner Dayna and his dog Bullet became household names when the show became a surprise hit. The first episode of The Scheme attracted more than 300,000 viewers while more than 500,000 watched subsequent episodes. Marvin's 'Happy as Larry' catchphrase made him the biggest star in the show. But it was dropped after MSPs expressed concern about the BBC 'exploiting' poor people for entertainment. In 2011, ex-Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson branded The Scheme 'poverty pornography'.
