The 2025 NFL season is coming up quickly, but Micah Parsons has stirred up the rumor mill in a huge way. After publicly requesting a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, plenty of speculation has been rising. One team viewed as a potential contender to acquire Parsons is the San Francisco 49ers.
Last season, the 49ers missed the playoffs. Just two years ago, they made a run to the Super Bowl before being defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Francisco wants to get back to the big game and win it. Making a blockbuster move to pair Parsons with Nick Bosa would be a huge step in that direction.

In a recent social media post from Fox Sports, they shared the odds given by DraftKings for Parsons' next team. San Francisco landed tied at No. 5 with the Arizona Cardinals.
What Are the Odds for Micah Parsons' Next Team?
Cowboys -300
Eagles +1000
Patriots +1000
Chargers +1500
Cardinals +1600
49ers +1600
Rams +1800
Panthers +2200
Jets +2500
Raiders +2500
Parsons would give the 49ers an even more intimidating defense. With Robert Saleh back in town as the team's defensive coordinator, San Francisco is hoping to get back to their defense-first mentality from a few years back.
During the 2024 NFL season with the Cowboys, Parsons dealt with some injury issues and played in 13 games. He still racked up 43 total tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass.
In 2023 with a full 17-game season, he racked up 64 tackles, 14 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two defended passes.

At 26 years old, Parsons would be a long-term pickup for the 49ers. He wouldn't come cheap, but he would be well worth the investment that it would take to get him.
There is still a chance that Dallas refuses to trade Parsons and that the two sides work out a long-term extension. However, if he does force his way out from the Cowboys, San Francisco should be one of the teams trying to make an aggressive move for him.
Expect to hear more news about Parsons in the near future. With his trade request now officially out in public, the rumors and speculation will continue gaining steam.

Dolphins backup OL Andrew Meyer out "weeks" with an injury

The Dolphins have lost backup interior offensive lineman Andrew Meyer for "weeks" with an injury, coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday. 'He's had a great camp, really stepped his game, and I'm very impressed with his play,' McDaniel said, via Dante Collinelli of 'He will be out weeks, but he's built a strong foundation as one of the top performers if you want to talk about growth of game. One of the top guys from year one to year two that has made tremendous strides.' Meyer practiced with the first team at center until Aaron Brewer returned from a soft-tissue injury in his right leg. Meyer's injury is undisclosed. He made the team as an undrafted rookie last year but he did not see any action. The Dolphins also are missing offensive linemen Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. They have signed Daniel Brunskill and Germaine Ifedi in camp.

Packers QB Jordan Love wants to make more off-schedule plays in 2025

Healthy again, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love wants to be a more creative playmaker on off-schedule plays in 2025. Love told Kevin Clark of ESPN that accuracy is a big emphasis coming out of the 2024 season, but he also wants to do more off-schedule playmaking now that his knee and groin injuries are healed. 'Create more plays, and make more off-schedule plays and use my legs more when things break down,' Love said. Love injured his knee in Week 1 and missed two games, and later injured his groin in late October. The two leg injuries limited his ability to break contain of the pocket and find plays outside of structure — a big part of his game as an athletic, big-play-hunting passer. 'I wasn't creating as many off schedule plays last season,' Love said. 'Obviously I was dealing with some injuries and different things like that, but I think that's a big part of my game that I got to get back into.' Love said he is 'pushing at practice' to emphasize creating the off-schedule plays. The reps during training camp are important to develop muscle memory and chemistry for himself and his receivers. At many practices this summer, Love has scrambled or found completions outside the pocket on extended plays. A quarterback who can make plays off schedule can help mitigate the impact of pressure and turn empty plays into positive ones. While Love was terrific at avoiding sacks last season, his mobility — and possibly his accuracy too — was affected by the injuries. The 2025 season is a fresh start, and Love wants to take a step forward. 'It's just taking that next step, continuing to keep growing myself and finding ways to get better and keep improving on things,' Love said. 'A big focus for me is just the consistency. Trying to be the best player I can be every play with my footwork and accuracy…just build the little things and keep stacking.'
