TRAFFIC ALERT: Changes at I-76 and Central Interchange
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – There are some traffic changes for drivers in Summit County.
Interstate 76 at the Central Interchange will be reduced to one lane Thursday and Friday.
New construction zones to expect in Northeast Ohio
Here's what else is new:
Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 26, I-76 westbound at the Central Interchange will be reduced to one lane through Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10 p.m., I-76 westbound at the Central Interchange will be closed through Thursday morning, Feb. 27, at 5 a.m. The detour will be state Route 8 northbound to Carrol Street to SR 8 southbound to I-76 West.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10 p.m., the ramp from I-76 westbound to I-77 southbound will be closed through 5 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. The detour will be SR 8 northbound to Carrol Street to SR 8 southbound to I-76 West to I-76/Kenmore Leg southbound to I-277 east to I-77.
Beginning the evening of Thursday, Feb. 27, I-76 westbound at the Central Interchange will be reduced to one lane through 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, for emergency pavement repairs.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7p.m., I-76 eastbound between Main and Inman streets will be reduced to one lane through 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, for pavement repairs.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m., I-76 ramps from Main Street to I-76 eastbound will be closed through 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. The detour will be I-76 westbound to Dart Avenue to I-76 East.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 9 p.m., the ramp from I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound will be closed through 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. The detour will be I-76 eastbound to Arlington Street/Kelly Avenue, to I-76 westbound, to I-77 southbound.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10 p.m., I-76 westbound at the Central Interchange will be closed through 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. The detour will be SR 8 northbound to Carrol Street to SR 8 southbound to I-76 West.

Single-vehicle crash closes section of Route 8 in Thomaston

SEE IT: Flames engulf car during morning commute
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – A car became engulfed in flames during the Tuesday morning commute. The smoke and flames caught the eyes of FOX 8 crews flying overhead in SkyFOX. Mega Millions jackpot claimed in NE Ohio The fire took place shortly before 7 a.m. near E. 120th Street and Miles Avenue. Fire crews quickly extinguished the flames. Motorcycle pulling a camper trailer overturns in fatal crash
GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – A 44-year-old woman was killed when the Harley Davidson motorcycle she was a passenger on overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jill L. Morris, 44, of Uhrichsville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Goshen Township by the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office. 'Once-in-a-lifetime:' When you can see all three Goodyear Blimps together over NE Ohio The 47-year-old driver of the motorcycle, Keith A. Morris, 47, of Uhrichsville, sustained life-threatening injuries, said officials in a press release. He was initially transported to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital but was later flown by helicopter to Akron General Hospital. The crash happened Sunday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., on US Route 250 near mile post 13. According to troopers, the two were traveling eastbound on a blue 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and pulling a camper trailer. Asian Lantern Festival returns to Cleveland zoo 'The trailer began to sway and the motorcycle lost control. The motorcycle overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway,' stated a press release.
