GOLF fans have slammed Joaquin Niemann for a bad tempered display of frustration at The Open.
The Chilean golfer is the top player on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour this season.

He has won four times on LIV Golf from eight tournaments, and has banked an incredible £15m for this troubles.
But the 26-year-old missed the cut at Royal Portrush by one stroke after rounds of 70 and 74.
And he let his frustration boil over as he left the 18th green on Friday.
Niemann stomped on his golf bag, in a scene that was shared on X.

He raises his foot high and stamps down on his clubs, and caddie Gary Matthews has to pull his hand away quickly to avoid it being clipped.
Fans were quick to slam the hot-headed temper tantrum.
One fan wrote: 'Typical LIV behaviour.'
Another said: 'He's horrible at majors.'

Another fan commented: 'Pro golfers are the biggest babies on the planet. His caddie was trying to pick up the bag …. Dude is a total loser.'
One disappointed fan wrote: "I'm sick of all these temper tantrums with golfers lately.
"They look like spoiled little brats having tantrums like two-year-olds.'
Niemann's frustration is justified, even if his outburst with his spikes is not.

He must be baffled that he hasn't been able to translate his LIV Golf form to the majors.
It is now two consecutive missed cuts and one top-10 finish in 26 major appearances for Niemann.

Niemann wasn't the only big name to miss the cut as Colin Morikawa and Brooks Koepka also crashed out.
Open champion in 2021, Morikawa endured two rounds to forget, finishing on seven over par.
And Koepka also missed out, meaning he's failed to make Saturday at three of the four majors this year, which is a fall from grace for the American.

The best conditions of the week, sustained sunshine and very little wind, left Royal Portrush vulnerable to some low scoring and the 2019 champion here made the most of it with a 66. In reality Scheffler's rivals are going to have to shoot lower than that if they are to challenge the world number one, who did not have a bogey on Saturday in extending his lead to four strokes. Matt Fitzpatrick, five back, and McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton, six behind, represent the biggest threat, albeit a small one. Lowry recovered from a bogey at the par-five second to dial in his seven-iron with a birdie at the short next and a hole-out from the fairway at the fourth. Four more birdies followed and he almost finished in style but his attempted chip-in did not drop. 'The course is gettable today – but then that gives Scottie the chance to shoot three or four under and if he shoots three of four under he won't be caught I don't think,' said the Irishman. England's Justin Rose was two under through three holes despite missing a seven-footer for birdie at the first but his move up to seven under still left him seven off the top.

Scottie Scheffler has been impressive throughout The Open Championship and has been lauded by Shane Lowry after he shared the course with the world No. 1 Former Open champion Shane Lowry has admitted his admiration for Scottie Scheffler after witnessing his game firsthand at Royal Portrush. Despite Rory McIlroy being the clear crowd favourite in Northern Ireland, it is Scheffler who led the pack at the end of day three. The American is four shots clear on 14-under-par and eyeing his fourth major title. The 29-year-old has twice won the Masters and emerged victorious at the PGA Championship earlier this year. Lowry, who clinched The Open title at Portrush in 2019, was grouped with Scheffler for the opening rounds. The world No. 1 carded a solid three-under on the first day, prompting Lowry to marvel at Scheffler's knack for steering clear of trouble on the course even under testing conditions. "I think when you're playing golf in this weather, your mechanical thoughts go out the window and you just need to play with feel," Lowry told The R&A."I played with the best in the world today, I played with Scottie Scheffler and that's the way he plays golf. "He gave an exhibition of playing golf today. I was doing my best to keep up with him. It's amazing to actually watch him play the game because he's so impressive with the scores he shoots. "Even the times he looks like he hits bad shots, they're not actually that bad. It was nice to be out with him today and watch him do that." Playing alongside Scheffler and Collin Morikawa, Irish golfer Lowry started with one-under on Thursday, making the cut at par, but then dropping to three-over on the third day. Despite his subsequent ups and downs, Lowry shared that the atmosphere within the group was laidback throughout the opening round. "It was pretty friendly. I get on well with Scottie and Collin," Lowry said. "Obviously, Thursdays are a bit different to Sundays. You're out there for six hours as well so you need to do something! "You can't just stand there and think to yourself. You need to talk and we had some chats. We talked about all sorts of stuff. It was nice. He's a good player to play with, obviously." At the top of the leaderboard, Scheffler has been distancing himself from the pack. He notched his best-ever major score with a seven-under on the second day, followed by a stellar bogey-free four-under on Saturday, positioning himself as the frontrunner. "I made two really important putts and I feel like anytime you can keep a clean card during a major championship, you're gonna be having a pretty good day," Scheffler said after his third round. "Winning a major championship is not an easy task. I've put myself in a good position. Going into tomorrow, I'm gonna step up on the first tee and try to get the ball in the fairway. When I get to the second shot, try to get that on the green."

Dubois comes forward, charging at Usyk and the two trade off in the corner but DOWN GOES DUBOIS after a counter right hook. He makes it to his feet but is dropped with another left hook and the fight is over! Dubois fails to beat the count and Usyk is once again undisputed heavyweight world champion. Usyk wins by KO Usyk, who crumbled to his knees after making more history, later had the press conference in stitches when he revealed his nickname for the kind of left hook he used. The heavyweight champion, who holds all the belts again, actually calls that punch 'IVAN' because it reminds him of tough, big men living in villages at his home country. Undisputed first at cruiserweight, Usyk, became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in a quarter of a century, and the first of the four belt era, when he beat Tyson Fury last year. He never lost the IBF championship in the ring, but couldn't make a mandatory defence of that title when he went into an immediate rematch with Fury. That saw Usyk vacate the IBF belt ahead of his second points victory over Fury and Dubois, previously the Interim titlist, elevated to full champion. A third career defeat leaves Dubois in a difficult position and requiring another rebuild. The Brit has not beaten a champion to claim a world title - he won the interim IBF belt and was subsequently elevated to full world champion before making one defence against Joshua. WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker was also keeping a close eye on proceedings as he seeks a date with the champion next.
