Housefull 5's ‘Laal Pari' Step Copied? Influencer Accuses Remo D'Souza Of Plagiarising Dance Move
Last Updated:
Dance influencer Sandip Brahamin accuses Remo D'Souza of copying his signature step in Housefull 5's song Laal Pari. Says: 'No mention, no credit at all.'
While Laal Pari from Housefull 5 continues to dominate social media with its infectious beats and star-studded visuals, a controversy is now brewing around its choreography. Popular content creator Sandip Brahamin has publicly accused choreographer Remo D'Souza of copying one of his signature dance moves without credit.
Sandip took to his official Instagram account recently to share a video comparing a step from Laal Pari — where lead actors wearing hats are seen shaking their heads — with a move he claims he popularized through his own content. Backing his claim with old footage of himself performing the same step, Sandip expressed disappointment over no

'You all have seen my signature moves. My move has been copied in the Housefull 5 song Laal Pari. Many of my friends DMed me after watching the video. I checked again on Instagram and YouTube — there's no mention, no credit. I don't know what is happening," he said.
Urging his followers to rally behind him, Sandip added, 'I want you guys to share this video as much as possible. I need your support." The video has since been widely circulated across fan pages and influencer circles.
So far, Remo D'Souza and the makers of Housefull 5 have not responded to the allegations.
Despite the controversy, Laal Pari — sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Simar Kaur — remains a viral hit, with fans and influencers flooding reels and dance challenges with their versions of the track. The song features a dazzling ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, and Nargis Fakhri.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 released in theatres on June 6 and has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. With a massive Rs 87 crore collection over its opening weekend, the comedy franchise is well on its way to crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. The film opened with Rs 24 crore, marking the highest opening for the Housefull series so far.
The film also boasts an extensive supporting cast including Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Johnny Lever, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, Dino Morea, Chitrangda Singh, Akashdeep Sabir, and Ranjeet.
Whether Sandip Brahamin's claims will lead to an official response or acknowledgment remains to be seen, but for now, Laal Pari continues to be the rhythm everyone's dancing to — controversy or not.

Ed Sheeran Became An Arijit Singh Fan After Listening To THIS Song: 'I Was Spellbound'
Last Updated: Arijit Singh invited Ed Sheeran and his father to his hometown in Bengal. Ed Sheeran recently collaborated with Arijit Singh for the song, Sapphire. The recently released song has been an instant hit with the Indian audiences due to the singers' vocals and a surprise appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. Days after the song's release, Ed Sheeran took to his Instagram to pen a heartfelt note for Arijit Singh. Ed Sheeran wrote, 'I first became aware of @arijitsingh music when I watched Aashiqui 2 and heard Tum Hi Ho. I was proper spellbound by his voice, the song, the scene in the movie. I checked him out, and got in touch, and said whenever you wanna sing together, I'm down. He was playing London, so I went to guest with him and sing Perfect there, it was an incredible show." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ed Sheeran (@teddysphotos) It was during this meeting that Ed played an early version of Sapphire for Arijit, who instantaneously had input for vocals and instruments. Ed wrote, 'We then were pen pals over email for a bit, until I was in India for tour. I said to him, we should finish this in person, and he said, please come to my home town so I can show you my home and culture. I was with my dad on tour, which is a rarity to get so much one-on-one time with him. Me and him got a flight to Kolkata, then a 5 and a half hour drive to his home town." 'We arrived, went on a barge down the river, which was stunning, then got a scooty back to the studio where we finished the song. Arijit taught me Punjabi and how to pronounce it all properly, and showed me Sitar. We then had dinner, and scooted around the village to see the sunset and moon with my dad. Was a proper core memory I'll always cherish with my father, and I'm honoured to have created in this way with Arijit," the singer mentioned. 'He's one of the most talented humans I've ever met, and I'm so grateful he shared his talent with me for this song. The full Punjabi version we recorded will be out in a couple of weeks, but until then, I'll be drip-feeding fun videos from our time together," Ed Sheeran concluded. First Published:

Akshay Kumar is celebrating Housefull 5's steady box office run with a special behind-the-scenes treat for fans. Despite the film receiving mixed reactions, Akshay is focusing on the highs. 'Still dancing on cloud nine after the incredible response Housefull 5 received this weekend! Thank you for the love and laughs! Here's a little behind-the-scenes joy from rehearsals," Akshay captioned the clip. Fans flooded the comments section with praise. 'Sir ji, you always slaying," wrote one user. Another added, 'Khiladi is back!" Some viewers celebrated his return to mainstream comedy, with a fan writing, 'So happy for your comeback. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) However, not all reactions were glowing. Several social media users expressed disappointment with the film's content. Critics and viewers alike have called out Housefull 5 for its double-meaning jokes, objectification of women, and what they described as an outdated sense of humor. The film has also been criticised for its weak storyline and loud, exaggerated performances. Despite this, the Tarun Mansukhani-directed comedy continues to perform well at the box office. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 has already earned Rs 87 crore in India. The film opened to an impressive Rs 24 crore on Day 1—outpacing both the previous instalment's debut and Akshay's recent releases like Sky Force and Kesari Chapter 2. The upward trend continued, with the second day pulling in Rs 31 crore, taking the film's domestic total to Rs 55 crore within the first two days alone. While critics may remain divided, there's no denying the commercial appeal of the franchise and Akshay's draw among mass audiences. First Published:

Thug Life 1st Monday India Box Office: Kamal Haasan's movie grosses an irredeemable Rs 2.25 crore on day 5
Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan, Trisha, SilambarasanTR and others has spent 5 days in Indian theatres and the performance has been dismal. After an extended weekend of Rs 40.75 crore with Rs 33 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 7.75 crore from the rest of India, Thug Life could add barely Rs 2-2.5 crore on first Monday. The numbers are over 85 percent down from the opening day and more than 70 percent down from first Friday. Thug Life was said to be the antidote of the heavily panned Kamal Haasan biggie, Indian 2, directed by S Shankar. With the Monday trend, it is absolutely clear that Thug Life won't cross Indian 2's Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office. Forget Indian box office, even the worldwide collections will end lower than that movie's India total. The Day Wise Box Office Collections of Thug Life in India are as follows: Thursday - Rs. 17.00 cr. Friday - Rs. 7.50 cr. Saturday - Rs. 8.75 cr. Sunday - Rs. 7.50 cr. Monday Rs 2.25 cr. (Ests) Total - Rs. 43 cr. gross in 5 days The producers of Thug Life, however, are lucky. Unlike Indian 2 that failed to recover its budget even after getting good non-theatrical deals, Thug Life has managed to recover its budget from non-theatrical revenue sources. The theatrical revenue is essentially the amount that will be shared between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam. The nominal amount that they make from their film, comes at a cost of credibility. Housefull 5, which released a day after Thug Life, has already crossed Rs 100 crore gross at the Indian box office on day 4 and it is well on course to end its run grossing over Rs 200 crore. There's a lot left for Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam to introspect after Thug Life. The movie is technically very sound and the issue is primarily with respect to the generic story and the dull screenplay. If not for that, Thug Life could have emerged as the highest grossing Tamil movie of 2025, so far. Thug Life plays in theatres now. Have you watched the crime-actioner? Do let us know.
