How Liam Neeson has fallen ‘madly in love' with Pamela Anderson after filming sex scenes together for Naked Gun reboot

ON the face of it Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson make for an unlikely couple. He is the 73-year-old Oscar-nominated star of Schindler's List from Northern Ireland, while she is the 58-year-old former Baywatch babe synonymous with Hollywood glamour. 7 7 But having made a reboot of The Naked Gun movies together, Liam said about Pamela: 'I'm madly in love with her.' During their promotion of the comedy — which first hit screens in 1988, starring Leslie Nielsen — the actress took snaps of the smartly suited actor's crotch, while he pretended to photograph her as she giggled on the floor. The off-screen chemistry went further with Liam planting a gentle kiss on the side of Pamela's head as he held her waist. Liam also joked that his favourite part of making The Naked Gun, which opens on August 1, was 'the sex scenes', which the pair were given an intimacy co-ordinator for. Liam added: 'I'd never had one before. But she was in the background. There was no kind of, 'OK! Excuse me!'. 'Acts like silly little boy' Pamela chimed in that the co-ordinator knew when to walk away and joked that she stormed off, with Liam claiming she threw her hands up in the air and said, 'I can't take this! This is too hot for me. I'm going for coffee'. It's not clear whether this outrageous flirting between the pair is to help promote their film. But five-times married former Playboy model has made it plain she is not intending to turn Liam into husband number five. She commented of her co-star: 'I think I have a friend for ever in Liam and we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy.' She added: 'He really is a silly guy. He acts like a silly little boy sometimes.' Pamela Anderson stuns in her first scene in Baywatch However much they admire each other though, Liam admitted to never having seen Baywatch, explaining: 'It wasn't my thing.' Pamela's response? 'I watched Schindler's List!' But after Liam watched her Golden Globe -nominated performance in this year's The Last Showgirl, he was impressed, saying: 'She was real. She was funny. Incredibly sexy.' The connection is clear to see, which perhaps is not so surprising as both Liam and Pamela have suffered personal heartache. The Irish actor had been married to actress Natasha Richardson for 15 years when she died in a skiing accident in 2009 aged just 45. Liam, who was left to raise their two sons, Micheal, now 30, and Daniel, 28, alone, struggled to believe she was really gone. While Pamela has told how she was sexually abused and raped in her childhood. She also contracted hepatitis C after sharing a tattoo needle with first husband Tommy Lee. They divorced in 1998 and he was later jailed for assaulting her. Both Liam and Pamela, who first rose to prominence in the 1990s, saw their high-profile careers implode. A string of box-office flops led Pamela to conclude her Hollywood career was over and to relocate back home to Vancouver Island in Canada around 2020. In 2019, Liam was shunned after revealing that in his youth he had wanted to kill a random black man in revenge for a rape of someone he knew. Having expressed his apologies, the actor is now back in demand, with scripts rolling in. Pamela is enjoying the most fruitful period in her acting career, earning her Golden Globe nomination for her brilliant performance in The Last Showgirl. Perhaps their humble beginnings gave them the strength to claw their way back. Pamela's dad Barry was a furnace repairman and mum Carol was a waitress, while Liam's dad Barney was a school caretaker and mum Kitty was a cook. There are other things the pair have in common. They both like to garden, read every night before going to bed early and dote on their new puppies. 7 7 7 Neither, though, would have been the first names to spring to mind if you were remaking The Naked Gun. Leslie Nielsen, who died in 2010 at the age of 84, was always going to be an incredibly tough act to follow. His deadpan performances in Airplane! in 1980 and The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad! in 1988 transformed them into much-loved movies. Liam has made his name as a tough guy in the Taken films and had only made one comedy before. He was surprised to be offered the role by producer Seth MacFarlane, whose credits include Ted and Family Guy. Liam said: 'I didn't think I was funny, far from it. But I really enjoyed those Leslie Nielsen movies. We have a connection. I'll follow him anywhere Pammi on Liam 'When Seth pitched the idea, I thought maybe he saw something in me.' Pamela has done comedy, such as Blonde And Blonder in 2008, but had recently become more famous for her animal rights activism than acting. When Liam saw her audition tape he felt certain she was the right person to take over from Priscilla Presley as The Naked Gun sidekick. He said: 'It was a no-brainer.' And once they got on set, that appreciation grew and grew. Liam continued: 'She's just terrific to work with. 'I can't compliment her enough. 'No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' Pamela is equally complimentary about her 6ft 4in co-star. She said: 'He brings out the best in you with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honour to work with him.' Pamela, who has two sons, Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, said Liam was 'the perfect gentleman' who 'wrapped his coat around me when I was cold'. Fans will get the chance to see how strong their chemistry is when the movie comes out in less than two weeks. If it is a hit, a sequel to this remake is sure to follow. Pamela has already confirmed she would be up for another Naked Gun if Liam is. Talking about her co-star, she said: 'I'll follow him anywhere.' Cupid might just be listening.

I know What You Did Last Summer reboot underwhelms at box office as cult classic maintains top spot

Sony's attempt to revive I Know What You Did Last Summer may have brought back the original stars, but it couldn't bring back the box office magic. The latest installment of the legacy slasher, which reunited Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt, opened to a lukewarm $13 million domestically, the lowest debut in the franchise's nearly three-decade history. Caught between two superhero juggernauts — DC 's Superman and Marvel's upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps (which hits theaters this Thursday) — the horror reboot failed to make a splash. This is a sharp contrast to the original 1997 film, which opened to $15.8 million and went on to gross over $125 million worldwide. Released in the wake of Scream's success, I Know What You Did Last Summer helped define the teen slasher boom of the late 1990s. With a tight, suspenseful plot — four friends cover up a hit-and-run, only to be stalked a year later by a hook-wielding figure who 'knows what they did' — it became a horror staple and cultural touchstone. The 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, wasn't as well-reviewed but still pulled in over $84 million globally. Together, the first two films built a recognizable franchise out of Lois Duncan's original novel. The 2025 reboot follows the now-adult survivors, who find themselves drawn back into a fresh cycle of terror after a new group of teens faces eerily similar threats. Ultimately, it landed in third place, narrowly beating out Smurfs and the polarizing A24 Western Eddington. While the film's $18 million budget keeps it in the realm of possible profitability, its lukewarm reception didn't help. Critics gave it a 38% Rotten Tomatoes score, and audiences were equally unimpressed, handing it a tepid 'C+' CinemaScore. Even director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson took the underwhelming reviews in stride, cheekily tweeting just one word: 'camp.' Meanwhile, Superman continued to fly high, hauling in $57.3 million in its second weekend and bringing its global total to over $400 million. With a modest 54% drop from its opening weekend, the reboot is holding strong — a crucial win for Warner Bros., which is betting on the film to launch a new era of DC superheroes. Spinoffs like Supergirl and Clayface are already in the pipeline, along with a rebooted Wonder Woman. Other newcomers didn't fare much better. The Rihanna-led animated Smurfs movie opened to a soft $11 million, despite a sprawling A-list voice cast, and Eddington, Ari Aster's Western satire starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal, debuted with a sluggish $4.2 million and a less-than-stellar 'C+' CinemaScore.

Open champion Scottie Scheffler reveals one-year-old son is ALREADY swinging a golf club as he celebrates triumph with family

Open champion Scottie Scheffler warned the golfing world they might soon have another champion in the family to worry about after revealing his one-year-old son is already swinging a club. The American was crowned Champion Golfer of the Year as he strolled to victory by four shots at Royal Portrush to lift the Claret Jug and take home the £2.3million prize money. Scheffler bagged his fourth major title and now just needs the US Open to follow Rory McIlroy in completing the career Grand Slam. After securing his victory, television cameras cut to Scheffler's son Bennett swinging a plastic golf club as the champion celebrated with his family, including wife Meredith. 'He likes it,' said Scheffler. 'He doesn't know what a golf ball is but he's either eating his golf club, or he's hitting something with it, whether it be a piece of furniture or sometimes other kids. We're working on it! 'I have a nephew that's kind of obsessed with golf like I was at a young age. We were in the backyard at my sister's bachelorette party, so my brother-in-law came and stayed with me with his two kids. Hayes was back there hitting golf ball after golf ball. 'Bennett loves older kids, so he looked at him and he was like, hey, I want to try that. He started swinging a club back and forth. I put a golf ball down, and he hit it. To be able to occupy a one-year-old with anything is probably a pretty good thing for them to be able to focus on. 'I hope Bennett's able to get into golf one day. The game of golf has taught me a tremendous amount. I feel like every day you go out and play golf you're looking in the mirror, and I've met some of my best friends through the game of golf. It's a very special game. You call penalties on yourself, and it's just -- you learn a lot of good life lessons by playing golf. 'I hope he can play one day, and I hope he enjoys it as much as I do.' Scheffler dedicated the victory to his high-school sweetheart wife Meredith, who he married in 2020 in a Winter Wonderland-themed wedding. 'The first person I always look for is my wife,' he added. 'Where we walk off the green each day is usually on the right side, and I didn't see her at first. So I was like, oh, my gosh, where's Meredith? What happened? She's not there. 'As I kind of circled around the green, I saw my dad standing there. I was like, okay, perfect, my family must be down there, so I saw Meredith. She's always the first person I want to celebrate with. She knows me better than anybody. That's my best friend. It takes a lot of work to be able to become good at this game, and I wouldn't be able to do it without her support. 'She does a tremendous job of taking care of everything for us at home and giving me the ability to put in the amount of time and effort that I put into the game of golf because it's a lot. It's not a lifestyle that's suited for everybody. We live a different lifestyle than some of our friends at home, travelling the way we do, but we're very grateful for it.' Scheffler never looked like letting the title slip after starting the day at the top of the leaderboard and McIlroy, who was unable to hunt him down as the Northern Irishman finished tied for seventh, believes we are seeing one of the greatest players in history. 'None of us could hang with Scottie this week,' said McIlroy. 'He's an incredible player. He is the bar that we're all trying to get to. 'In a historical context, you could argue that there's only maybe two or three players in the history of the game that have been on a run, the one that Scottie's been on here for the last 24 to 36 months. Incredibly impressive.' The comparisons between Scheffler and Tiger Woods are gathering momentum. Sunday marked 1,197 days since Scheffler's first major, exactly the same gap between Woods's first and fourth titles. 'I still think they're a bit silly,' said Scheffler. 'Tiger won, what, 15 majors? This is my fourth. I just got a quarter of the way there. I think Tiger stands alone in the game of golf. He was inspirational for me growing up. He was a very, very talented guy, and he was a special person to be able to be as good as he was at the game of golf.'
