‘King of the Hill' voice actor fatally shot: Reports

Yahoo02-06-2025
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WJW) — Actor Jonathan Joss, best known for his voice work in the animated sitcom 'King of the Hill,' has died in an apparent shooting in Texas.
According to multiple reports, the 59-year-old was allegedly shot by a neighbor.
Nexstar's KTLA reports that police were called to the shooting in San Antonio, Texas, at about 7 p.m. Sunday and found Joss lying 'near the roadway.'
'The officers attempted life-saving measures until EMS arrived. EMS pronounced the victim deceased,' police said in a statement, as reported by KTLA.

KTLA reported that police later detained Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, 56, who is believed to live in the area, and charged him with murder.
TMZ was among the first outlets to report the death, citing sources who said a neighbor fired at Joss after a dispute, then fled the scene in his car. KTLA said law enforcement couldn't confirm whether Ceja and Joss were neighbors.
Joss' partner Tristan Kern de Gonzales offered more details on social media Monday afternoon, claiming that he and Joss had returned to the site of their home, which had burned down, to check the mail when they were attacked. De Gonzalez further alleged that the house caught fire after some of their neighbors made threats to burn it down, but neighbors who spoke with TMZ claimed Joss himself accidentally burned the home while attempting to use a BBQ pit to heat the residence.
'That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire,' de Gonzales claimed on Facebook. 'We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.'
He said he and Joss were 'harassed regularly' by people who 'made it clear' they did not support the couple's relationship. 'Much of the harassment was openly homophobic,' de Gonzales wrote.
At the home, he said in the post, the couple found the skull and harness of one of their dogs 'placed in clear view.'
'This caused both of us severe emotional distress,' de Gonzales wrote. 'We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.'
De Gonzales claimed that's when they were approached by a man directing 'violent homophobic slurs' at them. He said the man fired a gun, and Joss pushed de Gonzales out of the way.
'He saved my life,' de Gonzales said of Joss.
'He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other,' de Gonzales wrote. He said neither he nor Joss was armed, adding, 'We were not threatening anyone.'
He said now he is focusing on 'protecting Jonathan's legacy and honoring the life we built together.'
Joss provided the voice of John Redcorn in 'King of the Hill.' According to Internet Movie Database, he was also known for his work in 'Abduction of the Fourth Kind' (2022), 'The Magnificent Seven' (2016) and 'The Forever Purge' (2021).

This popular ‘90s toy is trending as collector's item, selling for hundreds online

Check your storage! One of the most popular kids toys of the '90s is trending online, and if you've still got one, you might just be able to use it to pay off the week's groceries (or maybe even a few weeks). Your favorite toy is now a collector's item! The Fisher Price Dream Doll House was a staple in every little kid's home in the '90s. 3 The Fisher Price Dream Doll House from the '90s is going viral. Ebay 3 The dollhouse is being sold for hundreds of dollars. Ebay If you didn't have one, you certainly knew someone who did, and I dare say it was on the top of your wishlist at every Christmas and birthday – despite the 'creepy' doll faces. Fisher Price even shared a clip of the 1992 buy just last year – and commenters had never felt so nostalgic. 'I actually had this doll house until 14 years ago. I still remember the Christmas I got it. I found it hidden in my grandparents house. I decided to randomly start playing with it. Then I got caught and had to wait till Christmas. I was so excited Christmas Morning,' one person said. 'I still have mine and all 3 of my children have played with it and loved it! My youngest is 3 and still plays with it often!!!!' said another. 'That brings back sooo many memories,' a third agreed. Well, if you haven't sold yours by now and you're not feeling so attached, you might want to go and check its condition, as the piece and all of its accessories are now selling for hundreds online. 3 Fisher Price shared a clip of the 1992 buy just last year. facebook/fisherprice How much is it really worth? An Aussie mom has taken to the Australian BSS Fisher Price Loving Family group on Facebook this week to put her beloved doll house, along with all the accompanying accessories, up for auction. And, while a standard doll house might set you back a pretty penny now, this one – now over 30 years old – is going to cost you even more, with a starting price of $522.10 USD. This particular page sees many desperate shoppers helping others to buy and sell these dollhouses in both blue and pink. Prices start from around $16 for those feeling particularly generous, and go up to around $196, and sometimes even more. Over on eBay, you can find similar prices again, with Salvos currently auctioning off a doll house with four dolls and a number of other accessories. The current price? $336.10 plus shipping. Despite little ones turning more and more to digital toys and online options, it seems there's still absolutely a market out there for 'vintage' (though referring to the '90s as vintage truly hurts my soul) toys like these. Those with a blue roof like this one are said to be even more rare, so if you think you've got one at home and are in need of some extra cash, why not jump on and see what the rest of the world thinks it's worth.

Teen's Parents Said No to a Party — So He Killed Them and Invited 60 People Over with Bodies in the Closet

Tyler Hadley killed his parents, hid their bodies and hosted a party for 60 teens that same nightNEED TO KNOW Tyler Hadley killed his parents with a hammer on July 16, 2011, then posted 'Party at my crib tonight… maybe' on Facebook He spent hours cleaning up blood before inviting 60 teens to the house while the bodies were hidden in a bedroom In a 2024 Court TV interview, Hadley said the idea started as a joke — and admitted he still doesn't fully understand why he did itTyler Hadley wanted to throw a party. When his parents said no, he killed them — and invited dozens of friends over while their bodies lay hidden in the master bedroom. The then-17-year-old beat Blake and Mary-Jo Hadley to death with a claw hammer inside their Florida home on July 16, 2011. Then, after dragging their bodies into the bedroom and covering them with household items — linens, books, picture frames and towels — he spent nearly three hours cleaning the blood, according to his 2024 televised interview on Court TV's Interview with a Killer series. That night, Hadley posted on Facebook: 'Party at my crib tonight… maybe.' More than 60 teens showed up — most had no idea his parents were lying dead just down the hall. Some guests later told police the house smelled strange. Others noticed blood in different parts of the home. In the Court TV interview, Hadley recalled the moment it all became real. 'I went into my bathroom, and I was covered in blood, everywhere,' he said. 'There was blood all over the place. And I laughed at myself in the mirror and then went about my business of having a party.' Hadley told investigators he struck his mother from behind as she sat at a computer. His father ran in, horrified, and asked, 'Why?' 'Why the f--- not?' Hadley said he responded. He described entering a dissociative state — 'this sort of psychotic state or trance' — and said he remembered hearing his parents screaming and pleading for their lives. But he kept swinging. After the murders, Hadley locked the family dog in a closet, hid his parents' cell phones, and attempted to erase evidence of what he'd done. He later admitted to taking ecstasy beforehand and said he felt detached during the attack. According to police and court testimony, Hadley told friends in the weeks leading up to the killings that he planned to kill his parents. One even recalled him saying that he wanted to host a party afterward because it had "never been done before." In the 2024 interview, Hadley told Court TV's David Scott that the idea of killing his parents started as dark humor. He and his friends had been sitting around one night drinking beer and smoking weed, he said, when the thought first surfaced. 'I would sit there and think about it,' he said. 'And I think I latched onto it and didn't let go of it.' 'The thoughts didn't go away,' he added. 'If I could just relieve myself of the thoughts, then it would be done.' Eventually, he said, the plan was no longer a joke. At some point during the party, Hadley pulled aside his best friend, Michael Mandell. He told him what he had done. Mandell didn't believe it — until Tyler unlocked the master bedroom door and showed him the bodies. 'I come up to the [master bedroom] door. The party's going on over here, and I turn the door knob,' Mandell told ABC News. 'I looked down, and I [saw] his father's leg against the door… My eyes popped up, and I said, 'Oh my, he's telling the truth. He did it. This is real.'' Mandell called the police, and Port St. Lucie officers arrived early the next morning. There, they found the Hadleys' bodies in the bedroom and arrested Tyler on the spot. A blood-covered hammer lay between the victims' bodies, per CBS News. Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole. During the hearing, Judge Robert R. Makemson called the crime 'brutal, heinous and premeditated," per CBS. Prosecutors noted that while in prison, Hadley began calling himself 'Hammer Boy' and signed autographs for other inmates, per CBS. In the 2024 interview, Hadley said he still couldn't fully explain why he did it. 'I think it was to stop all of our pain,' he said. 'And other than that, I can't answer that with any clarity. I can't. It's still not clear to me. It was just that one thought — that kept on going.' Hadley, now 31, will be eligible for a sentencing review in 2039, per the Treasure Coast Newspapers. Democrat cuffed again after shoplifting at same Target, faces calls to resign

He's definitely not off Target. A Connecticut Democrat has been busted twice for shoplifting at the same Target store. State Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan turned himself in to cops on July 28 after a warrant was issued on new shoplifting charges involving the same store where he was previously arrested in June. Allie-Brennan, 33, was caught allegedly failing to scan $26.69 worth of merchandise at Target's Bethel location. At the time, he told authorities he was rushing to bring the items to his grandma in the hospital. Allie-Brennan is facing calls to step down over the accusations. Raghib Allie-Brennan / Facebook 'I've been upfront about taking responsibility for my actions,' Aliie-Brennan said in a statement. 'I'm taking accountability and look forward to continuing my work on behalf of our community.' Store staff told cops they recognized the four-term lawmaker from 'previous unreported larcenies,' according to the CT Mirror. In the arrest warrant affidavit for the second incident, a Target security guard said they observed Allie-Brennan 'concealing items into the Goodfellow bag that he had selected.' The total value of the allegedly unpaid items in that case was $54.55, the Hartford Courant reported. Allie-Brennan was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court on Aug. 5. Republicans in Connecticut have called for Allie-Brennan's resignation. 'It is regrettable that, once again, a Democrat member of the Connecticut General Assembly has found themselves in handcuffs and subject to criminal prosecution,' said Connecticut Republican State Chairman, Ben Proto. 'In light of these allegations, Representative Allie-Brennan should step down from his position.' Target security staff told police they recognized the politician from previous incidents. Jeffrey Greenberg/Universal Images Group via Getty Images On July 3, Allie-Brennan addressed the first incident in a Facebook post, saying he had applied for Accelerated Rehabilitation, a court program for first-time offenders that allows charges to be dismissed after completing conditions set by the court. 'I am taking responsibility for all of my actions and participating in a program to address my behavior seriously and constructively,' he wrote. Allie-Brennan told The Post that both charges are now being handled under the same application for Accelerated Rehabilitation. House Speaker Matt Ritter, a Democrat, said he has spoken with Allie-Brennan and expressed concern about his troubling behavior. 'Raghib will take some personal time away from the legislature over the next month to deal with the legal, political and personal ramifications,' he said.
