'My neighbour lets his dog bark all night long so I got my petty revenge on him'

A man has shared his 'petty revenge' on his neighbour who lets his dog bark outside all night - and people are praising him for giving the owner a 'taste of his own medicine'
A man has been lauded for his 'petty revenge' on a neighbour who allows their dog to bark outside all night long. He detailed how the incessant barking keeps him up at night and despite pleading with his neighbour to address the issue, the neighbour merely laughs it off.
In an attempt to teach him a lesson, he decided to give his 'entitled' neighbour a taste of his own medicine, reports the Mirror.

Sharing his story on Reddit, he said: "Every night from midnight to 3am his dog would bark non-stop right outside my bedroom. Deep loud echoing barks like he was announcing the end of the world. I asked my neighbour twice to bring the dog in. Both times he brushed it off with a smirk and said 'he's just doing his job'.

"Cool. Then I'll do mine."
With that, he began recording the barking on his phone and blasted it at full volume through a speaker against the wall at 6am to rouse his neighbour. He continued: "I repeated that for two mornings. No yelling. No threats.
"Just his own dog giving him a taste of what I'd been dealing with.

"On day three the dog was inside before 10pm. Hasn't barked at night since. Sometimes the best revenge is pressing play."
Responding to his post, one user saod: "I had that problem so I'd put my speaker outside on my wall and played 'We Built this City on Rock and Roll' on repeat for three hours."

Another user chimed in: "Wonderfully petty - and effective - love it!" A third user recounted: "My dad used to get up at 5am to go to work every day. Anytime the neighbour's dog woke him up during the night, they got a knock on the door around 5.30am. Dad would just casually let them know he was off to work and their dog woke him up."
Another person shared: "When my neighbour's dog wouldn't stop barking out in their yard I took a flashlight and aimed the beam at the side of the house.
"The stupid dog chased the beam of light and jumped all over the house. They would come out and yell 'King stop jumping!' and I would start all over again when they went back in... until they finally brought him in."

One more user shared a noisy tenant story, posting: "Years ago my parents had a tenant who would play disco music at an appalling volume every morning at 2am.
"We begged her to stop and she never did. I finally got fed up with her and my brother and I decided to get back at her.
"We parked a very large first amp at her back door and then I added an additional 30 decibels to the song 'Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead' from the Wizard of Oz and attached my CD player to my brother's guitar amp and then we waited.

"The next night her music went on and two minutes later, so did ours.
"I thought her shoe was going to explode it was so loud.
"It blasted out for about two minutes before I heard her yelling she was turning the music off. We had to repeat it a few times, but she eventually got the message."

I bought a children's toy, but the instructions were in Chinese...can you figure out what it is supposed to be?

Doctor's kits, construction tools, and kitchen sets are often very common items in the toy aisle. But as the years go on, they seem to get more and more intricate, and without an instruction manual it can be difficult to discern what exactly your child is playing with. That's the problem a parent on Reddit ran into before uploading a photo to the site's 'What is this thing' thread. FlakyPhilosophy5103 posted the picture in hopes of getting to the bottom of a toy box mystery that had been bothering them for months. Along with a picture of two colorful children's toys, the poster wrote: 'Is anyone able to help me know what these things are supposed to be please? It has been bugging me for months. 'The kit was in Chinese so I am none the wiser.' They described the small plastic items as a 'scraper' and a 'round item' which came in a child's doctor kit. Fortunately, parents flocked to the comment section to help the parent identify exactly which fictitious procedures their child would be performing with the mysterious plastic tools. At first, there were a couple of well-meaning, but totally off-base guesses. One user commented: 'Could the blue thing be one of those reflex hammers?' Another theorized: 'Maybe the blue thing is a strange tongue depressor? Like, with a funky angle to get the large handle out of the line of sight, from before disposables?' A third said: 'The pink thing looks like the eye test where the doc switches out lenses.' One person even though the pink round object and blue plastic toy could be a dental X-ray machine and tooth guard. But the overwhelming consensus took the right answer in a different direction. Comparing the items to play doctor's kits online and toys of their own, as always, Reddit commenters were able to get to the bottom of it. 'I think the blue thing is supposed to be a scalpel,' said one answer. The commenters confirmed that the pink toy was supposed to be a doctor's light 'It's a surgery light and a scalpel, we have the same kit,' said another. People uploaded photos of similar kits which labeled the items as a scalpel and a spotlight, confirming their theories. The original asker posted a response, confirming that the solution had been found: 'Solved! Thanks all. It seems scalpel and surgery light is the answer. Maybe I can listen properly next time she is playing rather than wondering!'

Love Island couple ordered to leave the villa just hours before ITV final

One Love Island couple are being voted out of the villa by their former islanders. As we gear up for the semi-final of one of the most explosive Love Island seasons yet, two more islanders are set to be ruthlessly dumped from the villa, as they are voted out by their former friends and rivals, who aren't holding back. ‌ One couple won't make it to the final of the show, as the latest teaser reveals a tense moment where all the previously dumped Islanders return to the villa for one last, game changing decision. ‌ The official Love Island account took to Instagram to share the short clip from Sunday evening's episode, alongside the caption: "First look! Ex-Islanders return for a savage dumping, and they're not holding back." ‌ Host Maya Jama appears to have returned to the villa one last time before she gets ready for the final, and is seen entering the villa to announce the latest twist. After a dramatic slow-motion walk into the villa, Maya shouts: "Hello, hello, hello. Are you alright my loves? How was the dates? Are you all loved up? Well I have some very important news. Can you come and join me on the lawn?" The remaining couples in the villa are Yas and Jamie, Cach and Toni, Harry and Shakira, Ty and Angel, and Meg and Dejon, the Mirror reports. Maya delivers the news: "Well today, one more couple will be dumped from the Love Island villa and that decision will be made by some very familiar faces." ‌ Among the returning islanders is Sophie Lee, who joined at the start of the series and became the first to be dumped on day two. Viewers will also see the return of Tommy who was once considered a frontrunner to win, before being dumped by Shakira. The teaser sent fans into a frenzy as they speculated which couple the dumped islanders would be giving the boot. One viewer wrote: "Sorry, but after Thursday and Friday, it's gotta be Meg and Dejon. Their time is up", while another simply stated: "Harry & Shakira.. your time is up!" ‌ A third shared their thoughts and penned: "For all the years of watching Love Island, it's my first time feeling this nervous about the finals. I swear my anxiety level is through the roof." A forth fan stated: "Do the right thing and only let Yas, Jamie, or Cach near that money for goodness sake," while another expressed: "I swear if Shakira, Toni, or Yaz go home, I might have to have some therapy sessions" Only time will tell who the dumped Islanders will vote for and which couple will say their goodbyes just a day before the final. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, and the final will air tomorrow (August 4) at 9pm.

Love Island fans uncover villa girl's gameplan as they say ‘she's not into him at all' about love interest

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans have become convinced that one couple are set to split after leaving the villa – after picking up on the girl's 'gameplan'. With the series finale coming tomorrow, the last few days of the villa have seen the islanders begin to lock down their romances. Throw in differing lifestyles, and some are thinking that they could already be on the way out. A Reddit poster explained: 'Hear me out. Angel is a fairly big Instagram influencer, who if you look at her instagram seems to be all about the boujee life. 'Her entire feed is her hanging with super stunning models all with huge followings on yachts in Spain, ski trips in the French Alps, constant trips to Dubai and seems to be living a pretty expensive glamorous life.' 'Ty is a sweetheart but does seem just like a genuine working class guy from a normal background,' they added. 'Absolutely nothing wrong with that, I just find it hard to believe this is the type of guy Angel is genuinely interested in with the lifestyle she projects on Instagram.' They added that 'girls who live that lifestyle seem to often be looking for a certain type of man', and continued: 'Last night's episode was when I really noticed it most. 'There is a certain distance in the way she connects with him, especially when he asked her to go exclusive, everything is just kind of wafty and airy in her voice and doesn't seem real or passionate about anything he has to say.' 'I believe she is a huge game player like Dejon but isn't as dumb as him to make it so obvious to those in the villa or the public,' they concluded, saying she "goes with the flow and doesn't cause drama", allowing Angel to skirt through. Other posters quickly picked up on the moment, and agreed that something about Angel and Ty's romance didn't feel authentic. 'Not gonna lie, I don't buy Angel's act at all. She was definitely eyeing up Harry from the jump, but obviously wanted to secure a spot in Meg's little 'mother hen' squad for that protection,' replied one. 'And because she rocked up late, she just clung to Ty as a safe bet. 'Get her out' rant Love Island fans as they call for 'sly' star to be kicked off the show 'Half the stuff Angel says is just silly, like she's trying to be something, but ends up being absolutely nothing.' 'I thought she liked him up until last night, when he asked her to go exclusive,' agreed a second. 'Like you said her reaction was very wishy washy. 'However in saying that they are quite fresh, so maybe she was just taken aback by how soon it was. 'Ty was also really her only option, and it just so happened he was single at the time.' 'When they leave the villa, he'll be in the influencer lifestyle too so I think they'll last whilst they're riding the fame, and whilst they're all in London constantly for events and interviews and stuff,' noted a third. 'And when the love island 2025 hype dies down, those break up statements will be out on instagram 😂' Others commented on the fact that she claimed that distance would be an issue for them as they start their relationship – asking 'why that was an issue when she travels the world but can travel 150 miles to Barnsley' where Ty's based. Ty and Angel are within breathing distance of the finish line, with the finale airing tomorrow night and a new winning couple being crowned. However, their position in the finale isn't secured just yet, with one last shock dumping set to rock the villa in scenes set to air tonight. The remaining couples still in the villa are: Ty and Angel, Meg and Dejon, Toni and Cach, Shakira and Harry, and Yasmin and Jamie. Who will be our top four for this year?
