'People are writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with Kaizer Chiefs'
The experienced forward is a free agent since leaving the Rockets last season. He was linked to Amakhosi in recent weeks, but he has since made it clear that the Soweto giants never approached him.
He did reveal that two clubs made contact with him but none of those clubs is Kaizer Chiefs.
'Two clubs made contact, but I was not happy with the proposals about a month ago,' Zajmovic told KickOff.com.
'It was not even one of the big three clubs in South Africa. Okay with regards to Kaizer Chiefs, they never contacted me. I have seen people writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with them but nothing like that has happened.
'All the things on the internet about me and Chiefs are not true because they have never contacted me. What I know is that I have shown myself in a good way but maybe it is not good enough for some clubs,' he continued.
'You never know who decides in the clubs and they go for what they like. With regards to where I would go next, I prefer respect and being valued. Maybe I will go to Asia. I'm fit.
'In South Africa, I would have liked to go to one of the Big Three because I have already adapted. If it is another club outside the big three and they show that they really want and value me then I will take that offer,' Zajmovic added.
'It is strange that the top three clubs didn't contact me despite the numbers that I had in South Africa because I feel I did well.'
Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan said on Soccer beat that Zajmovic was more suited for Amakhosi.

Revealed: Orlando Pirates' agreement with Saleng
Orlando Pirates have done a Mamelodi Sundowns, and a storm of criticism is coming. I wasn't really close to joining Chiefs, says new Sundowns star
Newly-signed Mamelodi Sundowns star Fawaaz Basadien has revealed that he was never close to joining Kaizer Chiefs. Basadien was a top performer for Stellenbosch FC last season, and speculation around his future was rife. Chiefs were, at some point, reported to be closing in on Basadien but the Bafana Bafana defender has stated otherwise. Basadien was speaking to Robert Marawa on MSW on 947 where he revealed that he always wanted to join Sundowns.
