Egypt FM delivers a message from El-Sisi to Algerian counterpart
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the message focused on enhancing bilateral ties between Egypt and Algeria, with both sides reaffirming the strength of their historic relationship and mutual commitment to deepening cooperation.
During the meeting with President Tebboune, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's keenness to elevate joint cooperation across various sectors to better serve the interests and aspirations of both nations.
He also noted plans to hold the 9th session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee in Cairo later this year, along with a business forum to boost economic and investment partnerships.
The Egyptian foreign minister expressed Cairo's readiness to support development projects in Algeria through Egyptian companies, citing their strong expertise and regional track record.
The talks also covered key regional developments, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
Abdelatty outlined Egypt's efforts to restore the ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, while also discussing the joint Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction with a Palestinian presence on the ground.
Other regional files on the table included those for Libya and Sudan.
At the end of the meeting, President Tebboune conveyed his greetings to President El-Sisi, praising the deep-rooted ties between the two nations and reaffirming Algeria's appreciation for the longstanding brotherly relationship.

Cairo, Seoul discuss expanding investments in Egypt
Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with South Korea's Ambassador to Cairo, Kim Yong-hyun, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways of strengthening economic cooperation and boosting South Korean investments in the Egyptian market. The talks also covered a number of issues of mutual interest. Both sides affirmed that Egypt and South Korea enjoy close bilateral relations rooted in decades of cooperation across multiple fields. They stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to expand trade and investment partnerships. El-Khatib highlighted the government's commitment to attracting leading South Korean companies to the Egyptian market, pointing to the country's advanced infrastructure development and preferential access to international markets through its wide network of free trade agreements. He added that Egypt offers a competitive investment environment, including its strategic geographic location, availability of land and industrial zones, skilled engineers and trained labour, and competitive wage levels. The minister also outlined ongoing government reforms to improve the investment climate, including the launch of an integrated digital platform that links government entities to simplify procedures and provide digital services to investors. He explained that the platform will reduce costs and processing time while enhancing transparency and efficiency. El-Khatib further noted that the government has succeeded in reducing customs clearance times for goods, with a target of just two days, helping to accelerate the flow of trade. For his part, Ambassador Kim praised Egypt's efforts to stimulate exports and attract investment, citing the successes of major Korean companies such as Samsung and LG in the local market. Egypt's PM meets Tokyo governor, witnesses signing of education agreements
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Wednesday witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Egypt's Ministry of Education and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to enhance cooperation in technical education, special needs education, and teacher training. The signing took place on the sidelines of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Yokohama, which Madbouly is attending on behalf of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The ceremony was attended by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, who met with the prime minister earlier in the day. The first MoU, signed by Egyptian Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and Masahiko Sakamoto, director-general of the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, covers teacher training and qualification programmes, support for people with special needs through an international centre in Egypt's 10th of Ramadan City, and the exchange of expertise in general education. The second agreement, signed by Abdel Latif and an official from Tokyo's Advanced Institute of Vocational Training, aims to expand applied technology schools in Egypt, particularly in agriculture, and to benefit from the latest teaching methods in technical education. Following the signing, Minister Abdel Latif said the MoUs are part of the strong partnership between Egypt and Japan in developing education, noting that the Japanese experience in Egyptian-Japanese schools represents a distinguished model of discipline and quality. Earlier, Madbouly met with Tokyo Governor Koike to discuss bilateral cooperation. The prime minister expressed Egypt's desire to benefit from Japan's expertise in education and increase the number of Japanese schools in Egypt, praising their high level of efficiency. He also commended the cooperation in higher education through the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology and invited Japanese students to study in Egypt to enhance student exchange programmes. Madbouly also discussed potential cooperation in developing Egypt's transport sector and invited the governor to the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which was built with Japanese cooperation. For her part, Governor Koike praised the remarkable development in Egyptian-Japanese relations and expressed her desire to support ties in various fields, especially education and entrepreneurship. She noted Egypt's strategic location as a gateway to the Arab region and the African continent, which enhances opportunities for joint cooperation.
