High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale 'feels weird' about turning 40
The 39-year-old actress - who has daughters Jupiter, four, as well as eight-month-old Emerson with her husband Christopher French - will celebrate her milestone birthday in July but doesn't really have any huge plans to mark the occasion other than a simple dinner with her family and friends.
Speaking on 'The View', she said: "It does feel weird, I don't feel 40 and I get told I don't look 40 so I feel like it's just a number. I'm just gonna do something really small. I had a baby eight months ago, Emerson, and I had a baby shower that was this big kind of party so I feel like I already did that. So I'm just doing dinner with my family and friends, making it small."
The 'Phineas and Ferb' star initially found fame when she was cast as Maddie Fitzpatrick on the Disney Channel series 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' and then found further recognition as Sharpay Evans in the network's 'High School Musical' franchise alongside Zac Efron but joked that by the time her success came about she "wanted to retire" because she had been chipping away at it for so long.
Ashley - who launched the wellness brand Being Frenshe in 2022 - said: "At 18, I wanted to retire from acting because I'd done it since I was three! It was one of those things where I'd always followed my intuition, and it's kind of cool to be in this stage of my life where I'm older. With Frenshe, COVID had happened and I really wanted to connect with people and talk about my journey there and talk about my mental health and my journey there. It wasn't like anyone was telling me to do it, I didn't have a manager or agent telling me 'Hey, you should do this now...' It was just like me wanting to do it."
When asked about the enduring popularity of her 'High School Musical' alter-ego - who appeared in all three films within the trilogy and then in her spin-off TV movie 'Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure' - Asley admitted that it is "wild" to see the longevity but ultimately puts that down to the fans of the musical series.
She said: "Literally, she's always referenced in popular culture still today, which is so wild, but she's an icon and she's very popular obviously but I think that it's such a fun movie and it's a comfort for everyone to go back to it. The fans are what made that."

Joe Jonas drops big Disney secret while reading Notes app mid-interview
Joe Jonas has seemingly revealed a closely guarded Disney secret. The US singer was asked to read his latest entry in the Notes app on his phone out loud during his appearance on Hot Ones Versus, and his honest answer shocked his siblings, Nick and Kevin Jonas. 'Read Camp Rock 3,' he read out loud, seemingly confirming a third movie in the Disney Channel franchise is in the works. Nick put his drink down and looked up in surprise as the crew laughed. Kevin nervously chuckled and said, 'OK, that's a pretty good one.' Joe seemed unfazed at the potential reveal, and continued looking at his phone. 'It's the truth, it's literally right here,' he said as the crew continued to laugh. 'Sorry, Disney,' he added. Camp Rock, starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, debuted on the Disney Channel in 2008. The music television film centred around Lovato's character, Mitchie Torres, visiting Camp Rock, a summer music camp. Torres ends up inspiring Joe's character, Shane Gray, a troubled pop star. The success of the original film spawned a sequel, 2010's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The Jonas Brothers and Lovato returned for the sequel, which was about Camp Rock competing against another musical camp, Camp Star. The sequel also saw Mitchie and Shane developing a romance. The Jonas Brothers had a surprise reunion with Lovato at their concert in New Jersey on Sunday, adding fuel to the fire that a Camp Rock 3 is coming. They sang the film's hits including This is Me and Wouldn't Change a Thing for the Jonas Brothers' 20th anniversary tour at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. After singing This Is Me, Joe told the screaming crowd that he and Lovato hadn't performed the track for 'almost 10 years.' Joe, 35, and Lovato, 32, dated in 2010 for less than a year. Clearly, the pair is still on great terms and Lovato's husband, Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes, showed his support for his wife's surprise performance alongside her ex. 'Couldn't be more proud. I love you sooo much baby @ddlovato,' the musician wrote in an Instagram Story of Lovato walking on stage.

Pilot says Matt Wright wanted flight hours manipulated
Reality TV star Matt Wright visited a pilot while he was heavily sedated in hospital following a deadly helicopter crash, asking him to manipulate flying hour records, a court has been told. Outback Wrangler co-star Chris "Willow" died in the February 2022 accident, falling to the ground from a sling beneath the chopper while collecting crocodile eggs in remote swampland in the Northern Territory. The aircraft then crashed, seriously injuring pilot Sebastian Robinson. Now a paraplegic, he gave evidence at the Supreme Court in Darwin by video link from his wheelchair on Wednesday. Wright is on trial on three charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice, having pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege he was worried crash investigators would discover that flight-time meters were disconnected regularly to extend flying hours beyond official thresholds and that paperwork was falsified. Mr Robinson told the court Wright visited him in Royal Brisbane Hospital 10 days after the crash when he was still in very bad shape, heavily sedated with "tubes coming out of me everywhere". Crown prosecutor Jason Gullaci SC asked the 32-year-old what Wright had asked of him at his hospital bedside and he replied "to manipulate hours on my aircraft". "He asked if I would consider putting any of his hours, from his helicopter, onto my helicopter." The court was told Mr Robinson was being asked to put egg-collecting hours flown on Wright's crashed helicopter onto his own helicopter, which was not fitted with equipment for egg collecting. Mr Robinson said he told Wright he would think about his request and when he made a return visit the next day told him "I didn't feel comfortable doing it". Wright had also asked to go through his phone and "delete a few things", Mr Robinson said. At the time he was "scared and panicked" and didn't know who to trust, he said. The crash and his life-changing injuries had been "the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with in my life". The court was told Mr Robinson was asked to fly egg-collecting missions in Arnhem Land, where COVID restrictions were in place, because Wright was an anti-vaxxer so could not enter the Indigenous territory unvaccinated. Jurors heard that Wright visited Mr Robinson in hospital despite requirements to show a COVID vaccination certificate and having to complete a test for the virus. The charges against Wright do not relate to the cause of the accident and the prosecution does not allege he is responsible for either the crash, Mr Wilson's death or Mr Robinson's injuries. The trial continues.

Ashley Tisdale's Being Frenshe introduce lip care products
Ashley Tisdale is creating a range of lip products. The High School Musical star's wellness brand Being Frenshe will release a Nourishing Lip Mask in the signature Lavender Cloud and Cashmere Vanilla vanilla scents, and a Restoring Lip Balm, in the same two scents, as well as Moon Milk and Solar Fleur. Ashley was inspired to create the range - which will be sold exclusively through Target - because of the popularity of the Moon Milk scent, which was initially designed as a limited-edition offering. She told WWD: 'So many people were going crazy over Moon Milk, and we would joke like, 'Are people drinking the Hair, Linen and Body Mist?' because they were so frantic about getting more. 'I have had so many people personally reach out to me, being like, 'I need six more, and I can't get it at Target.' 'It did spark a little bit of 'Oh, what if people could kind of taste the scents in a way, and that led us to lip wellness.' But Ashley wouldn't have worked on the range if it hadn't been important to her. She admitted: '[Everything] is driven by my own personal rituals. The body care was about trying to ground myself and be present and take care of my body.…Hair was another real big ritual for me because I have dealt with so many different hair issues with alopecia.' Being Frenshe - which expanded into hair and scalp care in December - launched in 2022 and is on track to exceed $100 million in sales this year, much to Ashley's astonishment. She said: 'I wish I could say that I had all these big dreams for Being Frenshe, but I don't think I could wrap my head around the success of it and that I would be able and have the potential to go into all these different categories." Piyush Jain, chief executive officer of Being Frenshe's parent company, Maesa, is thrilled with the success of the brand, with Target selling one unit of the Cashmere Vanilla Hair, Body and Linen Mist every six seconds. He said: 'Consumers keep surprising us. It continues to be our bestseller. Consumers flock to it in a variety of different fragrances, and it just keeps on growing. 'Lip as a product category is just exploding. It's a product that consumers use all through the day, at night, and therefore providing wellness there is super important.'
