Netflix users can't believe 'raunchy' new show is allowed on the streaming platform
Netflix subscribers have been binge-watching a new series that's so "raunchy" users can't believe it's available on the streaming platform.
Film enthusiast Lexy Puhlick, who goes by lexy.puhlick on social media, has encouraged viewers to watch it after confessing to viewing five episodes in one sitting.
In her TikTok video, she said: "Everyone needs to stop what they're doing and watch the new show on Netflix called The Waterfront. I was able to bed rot all day today and I started the series in the morning and now I'm on episode five. To be honest, I don't want the show to be over.
"There's only eight episodes so I'm going to force myself to stop watching it now so I don't sit and binge watch it for the entire day."
The series, which carries a 15 rating, follows a "prominent North Carolina fishing family wades into treacherous waters to keep their crumbling business empire afloat.", reports the Mirror.
Developed by Kevin Williamson, it features Holt McCallany, Melissa Benoist and Jake Weary - and boasts a 7 star rating from 142 reviews on IMDb.
She added: "The show is so good - the actors, the actresses, the storyline. Honestly, the love scenes, they're hot. Actually, I'm a little bit shocked that Netflix allowed the type of scenes that they did."
Responding to her post, one user said: "My husband and I just started it! We are addicted too."
Another user added: "Agreed! Reminds me of Animal Kingdom and Ozarks."
A third viewer commented: "I enjoyed it too! The only thing: I found the acting in the first episodes really bad, especially the son and this wife. But I kept on watching and started to enjoy. Loved the voices of the mom and dad and the soundtrack."
One IMDb critic remarked: "A solid series that's both entertaining and full of telenovela drama.
"There are a few cheesy main actors and a ridiculous scene every now and then, but a good show nonetheless. That 70's show actor is one of the bad guys, named Grady.
"And while he's annoying in everything he does, his character actually fits in this particular show.
"Does that make him a good actor all of a sudden? No, it just means his annoying character that he plays in everything he does, just fits this series.
"Another main character, Cane, doesn't do too well here even though he's done a better job in other shows, like Animal Kingdom."
Someone else noted: "Decent storyline. Some of the dialog is predictable and has me skipping ahead, though. The episode endings have been pretty good transitions between each.
"I find a cadence of watching the last part of the episode, then the first part of the next episode, and kind of skipping through the middle. But that's just me. I'm still watching it though - it is enjoyable."

'I tried UK's cheapest Michelin Star restaurant and price left me gobsmacked'
Michelin-starred restaurant are recognised for their exceptional food and upscale atmosphere but one man visited a pub in Buckinghamshire with this rating and was stunned by the bill A man dined at the UK's most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant and was taken aback by how much it cost. The sought-after Michelin Star is given by the Michelin Guide to restaurants that deliver exceptional food, with venues earning one, two, or three stars depending on the level of excellence. With more than 100 Michelin-starred restaurants across the UK, many assume dining at one means spending a small fortune but content creator Callum Ryan proved that's not always true. Callum, who's built a following of 1.1 million and racked up 49.2 million likes on TikTok, is known for sharing his food adventures and travel stories on the platform. One of his latest TikTok videos focuses on his review of The Coach in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, a one-star Michelin pub run by renowned chef Tom Kerridge. Callum exclaimed: "I went to the cheapest Michelin Star restaurant in the UK and you won't believe how much it cost." He tucked into a lunch set menu, starting with a tomato salad with burrata and basil pesto and declared: "I know you're going to think I'm exaggerating but this was probably the best salad I've ever had. "It was genuinely perfect. The only thing I would change is the portion sizes, I just wanted so much more but I can't get over how cheap this was." Moving onto the main course, he enjoyed a smoked chicken macaroni cheese, finding the topping "kind of chewy" but otherwise praising the dish for its creamy richness, dubbing it a "really, really good main." Callum gave the pasta dish he sampled an impressive eight out of ten, before tucking into a delightful lemon posset for dessert. He enjoyed the sweet treat so much that he considered returning to The Coach just to have it again. In his final verdict, Callum praised the meal's quality, presentation, and service, all of which he rated a perfect ten out of ten. He revealed that the two-course meal would have set him back a mere £15, adding: "Of course, I went for three courses and the whole thing cost me £22.50 so I'd highly recommend that you go and check it out." His TikTok clip has racked up 104,200 views, more than 2,000 likes, and sparked dozens of comments. Some critics took issue with the portion sizes, with one remarking: "Looks great but kids size portions." Another seconded: "Cheap because such small portions." A third chimed in with: "That will never fill you up." However, not all feedback was negative, with some users praising the eatery, with comments like "the breakfast there is even better", "looks lush", "I love this place" and "love that." The Michelin Guide also highlights other affordable options at Michelin Star restaurants, such as Bulrush in Bristol, which offers a six-course tasting menu from Tuesday to Thursday early evening for £65, or Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham, where diners can enjoy a three-course dinner from Wednesday to Friday for £47.

Terrified festival-goers left hanging upside down for 20 minutes after fairground ride breaks down
A fairground ride at the Boardmasters Festival broke down leaving thrill-seekers hanging upside down for 20 minutes. Festival-goers were left clinging on for dear life after a fairground ride ground to a halt, leaving thrillseekers dangling upside down for 20 minutes. The Apollo 13 attraction - which hurls riders high into the air before flipping them over - suffered a terrifying malfunction on Friday night at the Boardmasters Festival in Cornwall, reports the Mirror. Stunned onlookers watched as the giant arm froze mid-swing, trapping riders at its highest point with their heads pointing towards the ground. Those stuck on the lower end of the swing were slowly evacuated, while others at the top were left hanging helplessly in the air. One witness shared the footage with the caption: "Apollo 13 broke, with people stuck at the top for 20 minutes." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Since being uploaded to TikTok on Friday night, the video has been circulated over 500 times. One viewer expressed their horror, commenting: "No, imagine being stuck up there and it starts to move because of the wind.", reports Cornwall Live. It comes after a woman travels 8 hours for wedding only to be told to leave for not reading invite 'small print'. Another remarked: "I saw this happen from my house and I thought the ride was shut.", while a third revealed: "I was stuck up there." Boardmasters Festival organisers have been contacted for a statement regarding the incident. The drama comes after other fairground ride horror stories including that of Jade Harrison, 27, who said she was 'lucky to be alive' after she was flung from a faulty ride at 60mph. Jade was at Hull Fair in 2019 when she reluctantly boarded the Airmaxx 360 after pals persuaded her. Just 90 seconds in, she heard a loud click from her seat clamp and then moments later, she was catapulted through the air. She told the Manchester Evening News: "I wasn't planning on going on any rides. But my friend wanted to go on the Airmaxx 360. I didn't want to be left on my own." Just 90 seconds after boarding the ride - which can spin up to 60mph and spins intensely - Jade said she heard a concerning click coming from her seat clamp. After initially disregarding the noise, her friend said they had heard the same click, although it didn't raise alarm bells, and she "didn't really panic". Before long, she was catapulted from the ride and into another, then falling to the ground and losing consciousness. She said: "All I remember is the feeling of flipping like you do in a dream when you wake up startled. "When I came to I was laid on the floor next to the ride but everyone was just around me and I was a bit confused. I kind of forgot where I was and what I was doing so it took me a minute to realise what had happened. Then obviously I started panicking and everyone was telling me to calm down. It felt like ages for the paramedics to get there but in reality it was only about two minutes." "I'm lucky to be alive. The most painful part was my chest. I couldn't sit up or take a deep breath. When I got home, I couldn't get out of bed without my partner's help." Following the ordeal, Jade received a significant five-figure compensation from Taylor's Funfairs, the company that runs the ride, which admitted fault in the incident. The Health and Safety Executive shelved a criminal inquiry into the incident in 2023.

But it was giving a little extra flair when his dear old dad decided to step in and be the youngster's version of Nancy. Victoria was heard stifling a giggle as David interjected in the song, and later posted the clip and writing: "With backup like this @Cruz Beckham… you're destined for great success! @David Beckham xx" The sweet moment comes as the family enjoy time away together – with eldest son Brooklyn continues to miss out. With a feud dividing the family, Brooklyn has distanced himself from the Beckham clan in favour of his wife Nicola Peltz, and her family. He even missed out on multiple celebrations to mark David's 50th birthday – snubbing a lavish bash, a father-son fishing trip and a calm retreat in Bordeaux. They've even started a 'boat war' by showing off their time on Nicola's family's £85million superyacht in Saint-Tropez that comparitively dwarfs the Beckhams' . Brooklyn and Nicola also renewed their wedding vows after three years of marriage – with the Beckhams not in attendance. At the end of May, Brooklyn shared a video of him and Nicola riding on his motorbike, captioning it: 'My whole world. I will love you forever. I always choose you baby.' They'll also be missing from Victoria's upcoming Netflix documentary. Inside Brooklyn Beckham's 'financial flex' in feud with dad David as his £85m superyacht dwarfs family's £16m vessel Even Romeo, the family's second eldest son, seems to have got involved, getting a pointed sounding tattoo as well as blocking his big bro on Instagram. But over recent weeks, it seems David and Victoria are both keen to bury the hatchet, making small but meaningful olive branches on social media to let their son know they're thinking of him. They're also making sure to spend time with the rest of their children – with David and Romeo even deciding to get matching buzzcuts for their time in the sun. 9 Brooklyn is continuing to stay away from his family on his wife's family's yacht 9 The luxury boat is valued at £16million Credit: cruzbeckham/Instagram 9 The family have been making the most of their time on the boat Credit: Instagram 9 The family have been fine dining at truffle restaurants Credit: davidbeckham/Instagram
