Jamie Laing confesses he had no idea how getting pregnant worked

Metroa day ago

Jamie Laing made a very honest confession about his lack of knowledge when it comes to pregnancy.
Jamie, 36 and his wife, Sophie Habboo, 30 are currently expecting their first child and announced the happy news at the beginning of the month.
The couple has been flooded with support from fans and has shared updates about their pregnancy, including some sweet images of Sophie's growing baby bump.
On their joint podcast, the couple spoke about their conception journey as Jamie confessed to being slightly less knowledgeable when it came to the ins and outs of conceiving a child.
Jamie revealed on his podcast that he was getting numerous sperm checks in the lead up to conceiving, but was slightly clueless about how conception happened.
'Turns out I had no idea about this. I honestly thought for the whole of my life right? That I was walking around with a loaded gun.' https://www.instagram.com/p/DKq4mTTt_ry/
Sophie immediately said his phrase was a 'rank description' as he continued to say he thought his penis was a 'loaded gun full of semen'.
'I thought it was easy to get anyone pregnant, like so easy,' he said.
Sophie added that he was 'thick' when it came to speaking about fertility and revealed that he wanted to try for a baby even when she was on her period.
He added that he had no idea that women could only get pregnant on just one day of the month.
This podcast episode comes as the couple rebrands their podcast, NewlyWeds to NearlyParents.
In a press release about the change Sophie said: 'I'm so excited for this next chapter of our podcast, and of our lives! I feel like NewlyWeds has always been about sharing the real, messy, and wonderful parts of our relationship, and now we get to do the same as we start our family. It feels so special to bring our listeners along for the ride.
Jamie added: I can't wait to share this chapter of our lives with you – and to have a whole new bunch of hilarious stories to share! More Trending
'NearlyParents is going to be all about the ups, the downs, and the in-betweens of not only becoming parents, but how we also navigate everything life throws at us in between!'

Announcing the news that they are expecting their first baby together, the pair shared a video of their scan on Instagram.
In the video, Sophie was lying on a hospital bed and smiling at Jamie, who asked how she was feeling and said, 'Oh my god.'
The pair then saw the scan and Jamie could be heard saying, 'Are you kidding me?' The camera then panned to an excited Sophie listening to the heartbeat.

Prince Harry and Meghan's single word that left late Queen fearing 'disaster'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle never intended to leave royal life altogether, but one word in their sensational statement lead to an ultimatum from the Palace, according to insiders Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completely quitting their royal roles came down to the use of a single word, according to an insider. Now five years on from them sensationally stepping back as full-time working royals, the Sussexes appear to have left their former lives well and truly behind them. The pair have both been focusing on their commercial endeavours with Meghan sharing more and more of her life behind the scenes on Instagram, including a recent video of her twerking alongside Harry as they awaited the birth of their daughter Princess Lilibet. However, when they first announced their intention for change more than five years ago, it seemed that they did not want to quit royal life completely, instead saying that they intended to "carve out a progressive new role within this institution". ‌ ‌ But it appears a throwaway, single word in that very statement paved the way for an ultimatum that there would be no half-in, half-out arrangement for them. In the statement announcing their stepping back, the Sussexes said at the time: "We will continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties." And according to the Daily Mail, the word 'collaborate' is what raised eyebrows, with a source telling the publication: "No-one 'collaborates' with the Queen. This is not one of those 'Kate Moss Top Shop tie-ups'." And with the Sussexes, most notably Meghan, forging a very different path compared to the one she had in the Royal Family, the insider added: "This is exactly why Queen Elizabeth knew this whole half-in, half-out version of royalty they were lobbying for was never, ever going to work. "Harry and Meghan were a law unto themselves from the start, pushing and pushing the envelope to their own professional and financial advantage. Her Late Majesty was nobody's fool and knew that the chances were, it would all end in disaster." In the dancing clip from last week, a heavily pregnant Meghan twerks to the Starrkeisha song Baby Momma, lifting her skirt above her knees, raising her hands in the air and wiggling low with her hands on her hips and legs. Meghan shared the clip on Lilibet's fourth birthday, saying: "Four years ago today, this also happened. ‌ "Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work – there was only one thing left to do!" And for royal expert Jennie Bond, she believes it is an "astonishing video on any level" and reveals what the King would have thought of it. The former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror: "The hours before you give birth are some of the most personal, intimate and private in the lives of any couple. "And women are perfectly entitled to do whatever they feel like to get through the waiting, and the pain. Giving birth is a serious business, and anything to lighten the mood is welcome. ‌ "However - to share those scenes with the world is utterly bizarre and, in my view, takes away all the magic of the moment. I cannot imagine why she chose to release it. Maybe show it one day to your nearest and dearest— but to anyone and everyone who wants to click on it? ‌ "If the King has watched it, which I doubt, though he can't have missed the headlines I'm sure he would be horrified. Royalty has to carry with it some measure of dignity." But she added: "Having said all that, there's no doubt that videos like this connect in a very real way to young people. And perhaps that's what Meghan is trying to do. "My own daughter thought the video humanised both Meghan and Harry and was light-hearted and hugely relatable. It reminded her of her own pregnancies and labour and she thought it was rather charming."

Inside collapsing funeral home with 'human remains and Polaroids of corpses'

An urban explorer ventured into an abandoned funeral home that had begun to collapse - what they found inside was truly shocking, and definitely not for the faint-hearted A funeral home owner who 'vanished' one day and never came back left his business totally abandoned - until now. When urban explorer Ben James, 29, stumbled across the collapsing and crumbling building in Illinois, US, he hadn't even realised it was there. Instead, he had been on the hunt for a completely different abandoned space. ‌ "I found the funeral home while looking for an abandoned cemetery," he explained, adding: "The place looks to [have been] abandoned for many years. ‌ "I spoke to a local who said the owner vanished one day and never returned, so it closed and fell into disrepair." What Ben claims to have found inside would have sent chills up anyone's spine. Amongst embalming fluids, death certificates, and 'do not resuscitate' labels, there beneath the dust and building rubble, he claims to have come across what appeared to be decomposing human remains. The remains date all the way back to 2005, he claims, so they have been there undisturbed for twenty years. "It was amazing to see all that was left, death certificates, embalming fluid, and prep tools," the urban explorer - who boasts 215,000 followers on Instagram, @places_forgotten, and a further 1.2 million on TikTok, said. "But the most shocking discovery was human remains and Polaroids of corpses being embalmed. It was a very creepy place. Locals all say it is haunted and they wish it would get demolished, but then the spirits will have nowhere to go." ‌ Urban explorers who bravely venture into abandoned and forgotten spaces captivate a lot of attention, particularly on social media. Some of Ben's followers were eager to see the inside of the ghostly funeral parlor, that had so long sat totally abandoned, with bodies allegedly inside that had never been laid to rest. "For us, who live in a country, where events like this could never happen, this is incredibly fascinating!" Wrote one commenter. "That's so sad," wrote one user, "Are those people's ashes just left on the counter?" Another said: "The Polaroids!". ‌ A crumbling cinema that was also discovered by urban explorers also recently generated a lot of interest, with the inside of the place seemingly frozen in time. Ben's fascination with forgotten spaces has seen him travel all over the world, and he has ventured into disused airports, schools, hospitals, and even a city that had been totally abandoned. "Something a little different from my usual," he captioned the post about the city, "This abandoned city has been left since 1950. It is off limits to people and is patrolled by armed guards, but sometimes, you have to just ignore that and climb the fence that's covered in razor wire".
