Oasis fans thrilled to hear songs from polarising album on Live '25 tour

A record that divided listeners when it first dropped has thrilled Oasis devotees as it remains part of their Live '25 tour. The unexpected inclusion of tracks from this contentious album has prompted some supporters to praise Liam and Noel Gallagher, with numerous fans admitting they remain "surprised" by these choices. While the Live '25 tour has primarily spotlighted material from (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe, the group has also woven in several rarities. Tracks from their compilation record, The Masterplan, have appeared in Oasis' performances, alongside a selection of numbers from Be Here Now. The outfit will take the stage at Croke Park on August 15 and 16 before travelling to the United States. Audiences were caught off guard by the group's choice to perform material from their third record, which polarised fans upon its 1997 launch. The track Stand By Me has appeared on the album, catching many by surprise despite being amongst Oasis' most familiar numbers. A message on the r/Oasis subreddit saw one enthusiast enquire: "Anyone else surprised they did any Be Here Now songs in 2025? "I had the impression they were trying to pretend that album didn't exist and I see they played Stand By Me at Wembley. I'll be damned lol." Others were amazed to witness the band reviving these songs for their live performances, though suggest there were clues this might occur during the siblings' individual tours. One fan wrote: "They were both doing Stand By Me solo so not a surprise to me. Liam seemed to like D'You Know What I Mean as well but had stopped playing it as much. It was great to see both get a turn!" Another expressed hopes for the band to perform other songs from the album on future dates. They wrote: "I wish they did Don't Go Away too that would be healing." Liam and Noel Gallagher have been performing together for the first time in 16 years (file) (Image: Tony Nicoletti/Daily Record) However, another fan doesn't believe it's likely, suggesting that Liam Gallagher can "no longer sing" the demanding song. They suggested: "I think Don't Go Away has the same issue Stop Crying Your Heart Out has, i.e. the vocal is simply too demanding for Liam. "Don't Go Away didn't even stay in the setlists for a whole tour as Liam had dropped it by late 1997 and Noel had to take it over. Liam did say in about 2017 that he wouldn't do it on the next tour but possibly in the future and nothing materialised. "Possibly because he found he couldn't sing it. I think the only other song from Be Here Now that might pop up eventually is Be Here Now, Liam has done it multiple times, it's quite upbeat and is seemingly an easy song for him to perform. "All Around the World is too long, and the rest of the album likely wouldn't even register on Noel's radar for a modern setlist."

Oasis Charts The Top Two Albums As The Band Reunites

Oasis dominates the U.K. Albums chart with Time Flies… 1994–2009 at No. 1 and (What's the Story) ... More Morning Glory? at No. 2 as the band's reunion tour kicks off. The rock superstars kicked off the trek in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, and the musicians are spending July and the first half of August performing massive shows in England and Scotland. Oasis was always going to have an incredible few weeks on the U.K. music charts around the beginning of the tour, but the group's performance has turned out to be even more impressive than some might have imagined. Oasis Claims the Two Biggest Albums in the U.K. It's incredibly rare for any one musical act to fill the highest two spaces on the roster of the most-consumed albums in the nation, but that's exactly what Oasis manages this week. The fact that the rockers can do so with projects that have already been out in the world for years and have moved millions is an incredible feat. Time Flies... 1994–2009 shoots from No. 6 to No. 1 on the Official Albums chart this week. It's followed closely by (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which bolts from No. 14 to the runner-up spot. Three Oasis Albums Hit the Top Five Definitely Maybe rockets from No. 26 to No. 4, meaning the group almost claimed the three biggest albums in the U.K. this week. Short n' Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter blocks the rockers from doing so, as it keeps at No. 3. Time Flies Reigns Again Time Flies... 1994–2009 has now spent just two weeks at No. 1 on the Official Albums chart. The compilation, which gathers together many of the most famous Oasis tunes, launched in first place in June 2010. It has taken until now for the project to return to the summit, though it has come close to doing so on more than one occasion. 600 Weeks on the Chart Time Flies... 1994–2009 and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? are counted among the eight Oasis albums that have hit No. 1 on the main ranking in the U.K. Both of those projects have spent more than 600 weeks on the roster, while Definitely Maybe passed that milestone just days ago.

Oasis get hero's homecoming at first night in Heaton Park

Oasis returned to their home city on Friday night (July 11) as part of their long-awaited reunion tour. Even fans without a ticket had gathered outside Heaton Park in the scorching heat to listen to one of the year's biggest gigs. At a quarter past eight, the Burnage brothers emerged triumphantly hand in hand, and the crowd went wild. IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK Manchester 11.07.25#OasisLive25 Starting strong with (What's the Story) Morning Glory? opener Hello, the Gallagher's voices were drowned out by the crowd's singing throughout every track. Acquiesce came next - with its chorus "because we need each other, we believe in one another" a perfect soundtrack for the brothers overcoming their feud. There wasn't a single song where the audience didn't sing every word - the atmosphere was absolutely electric. Even after almost two decades, it felt as if they never left. The crowd were singing every word (Image: Newsquest) Liam said: "It's good to be back - thanks for sticking with us" before the band broke into Bring it On Down. He then told the audience to turn around before breaking into a standout performance of Cigarettes and Alcohol. The set list was full of hits from their classic first two albums, with fan favourites including Supersonic, Slide Away and Live Forever. Champagne Supernova - the final song - saw pyrotechnics light up the skies for a truly biblical end to a fantastic performance. Oasis Narrowly Misses Out On A New No. 1 Album

As Oasis prepares to launch its Oasis Live '25 Tour, Time Flies… 1994–2009 returns to No. 2 on the ... More U.K.'s Official Albums and Vinyl Albums charts. The group, which has attracted as much media attention for the feud between members and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher as for its chart-topping hits, is set to begin its Oasis Live '25 Tour in just a few days. The trek starts in Cardiff and includes dozens of shows throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Australia, and several countries in South America before wrapping in November. Just before launching what will surely be a top-grossing venture, Oasis recently released the remastered version of Time Flies… 1994–2009. The compilation almost hits No. 1 for the very first time on one tally in the group's home country, but misses out by a single spot. Oasis Barely Misses Out on a New No. 1 Album Time Flies… returns to the Official Vinyl Albums chart this week landing in the runner-up position. The title finds its way back to its all-time high point, which it originally reached just a few years ago. Time Flies… Stalls in Second Place Time Flies… also lands at No. 2 on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most consumed releases in the nation. Unlike on the vinyl tally, however, the Oasis compilation has previously led the main ranking, but only once. Oasis Soars Back Into the Top 10 The same collection can also be found inside the top 10 on three additional rankings in the U.K. Time Flies… reappears at No. 3 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, while lifting one space to No. 6 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. Oasis Misses the Highest Spaces on the Downloads List Time Flies… fails to crack the uppermost region only on the Official Album Downloads chart, where it rebounds at No. 28. The surge in interest among Oasis fans in the U.K. seems tied to physical formats, as the remastered version sold particularly well on CD and vinyl – both available on the band's website, while downloads appear to have generated far less excitement. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe Are Also Rising As Time Flies… returns to the top 10 on nearly every chart it has previously appeared on, two other Oasis albums are also climbing. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe appear on multiple lists, and in almost every instance, they are soaring.
