Oppo Find X9 Ultra could have the same main camera sensor as the Galaxy S26 Ultra

Vlad, 16 August 2025 The upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra has already been rumored to sport a new 200 MP main camera, and today prolific Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station has shed light on which sensor it will use. It turns out it's the one that Sony is developing - with 200 MP resolution and a 1/1.1" type size. That's not quite 1-inch type, but pretty close. Oppo Find X8 Ultra Intriguingly, Samsung has been rumored to have chosen this exact sensor to use in the Galaxy S26 Ultra's main camera. If all of these rumors pan out, we'll have an interesting situation next year when both the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Find X9 Ultra arrive, as they will compete against each other while using the same main camera sensor. Well, in theory at least - if the Find X9 Ultra isn't officially sold outside of China (and that's definitely not outside the realm of possibility), then given Samsung's minuscule market share in China, the two won't really compete head-to-head anywhere. Anyway, the Find X9 Ultra will launch after the Chinese New Year (which falls on February 17). DCS says it might arrive a little bit sooner than its predecessor, which was unveiled on April 10, so if we were to bet we'd go with an unveiling sometime in March. Source (in Chinese)

Now even Flip phones will get 200MP cameras

TL;DR The HONOR Magic V Flip 2 will apparently have a 200MP main camera. This would make it the first Flip phone with a 200MP camera. HONOR has also confirmed that it will have the biggest battery in a Flip phone. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and Galaxy Z Fold 7 were the first foldable phones to offer a 200MP main camera. However, it looks like the first Flip foldable with a 200MP camera could launch next week. HONOR has confirmed that it will launch the Magic V Flip 2 foldable phone on August 21. However, long-time leaker Digital Chat Station has revealed a slew of specs on Weibo. Perhaps the most notable detail is that the Magic V Flip 2 will pack a 200MP main camera. This would mark the first time a Flip phone has shipped with such a high-resolution camera. The phone will also apparently pack a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP selfie camera. I'm guessing that HONOR didn't have much space to spare for a triple rear camera system, but a 200MP main camera is the next best thing. This means you can expect good-quality cropped images at 2x to 4x, but anything more will be a stretch. Don't want to miss the best from Android Authority? Set us as a preferred source in Google Search to support us and make sure you never miss our latest exclusive reports, expert analysis, and much more. Otherwise, Digital Chat Station claims the phone will also have a 6.82-inch OLED screen (2,868 x 1,232, ultra-thin glass), a four-inch cover display (1,200 x 1,092), and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. That's clearly not the latest and greatest Snapdragon silicon, but you're still getting a very powerful processor. HONOR has also confirmed the leaker's previous claim that the phone will have a 5,500mAh battery. That means it will have the biggest battery in any Flip foldable to date. Once you've run out of juice, you can take advantage of 80W wired or 50W wireless charging. We hope the new flip phone is eventually available in global markets. However, the original Magic V Flip didn't get an international release, so we're not holding our breath for the sequel. Follow

Samsung Galaxy S26 series leak hints at an Edge future (again)

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will reportedly gain a 200MP main camera and a 50MP tele camera. Samsung's middle Galaxy S26 model apparently has a 50MP ultrawide camera, much like the Galaxy S25 Edge. This ultrawide camera potentially hints at the Galaxy S26 Plus being swapped out for an S26 Edge. We already know that Samsung is hard at work on the Galaxy S26 series, and we've seen a few leaks already. Now, a trusted outlet has revealed some more details about Samsung's 2026 flagship Android phones. WinFuture reports that three Galaxy S26 phones are in development and are codenamed NPA1, NPA2, and NPA3, citing an unnamed database. The NPA abbreviation could stand for 'Next Paradigm.' After all, the Galaxy S25 phones were internally referred to as Paradigm and codenamed PA1, PA2, and PA3. The outlet says it also spotted a few technical details about the NPA3 model, which is expected to be the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The database points to a 200MP main camera, but there's no word if this is an upgraded sensor in line with a recent leak. A 50MP telephoto camera was also mentioned, while partners are apparently building the first parts for 5x optical zoom. This presumably means a 50MP 5x camera is making a return. Otherwise, an unspecified ultrawide camera was also mentioned in the database. There's no word on a 3x camera, though. There are no technical details for the NPA1 model, which is expected to be the base Galaxy S26. However, WinFuture says the NPA2 model is listed with a 50MP ultrawide camera instead of the Galaxy S25 Plus's 12MP ultrawide lens. This change would be in line with the Galaxy S25 Edge, which offers a 50MP ultrawide camera. That doesn't necessarily guarantee the S26 Plus will be replaced by the S26 Edge per previous reports, but it does raise more questions about the fate of a Plus model. Samsung's new phones are still half a year away from their expected January release window. Don't be surprised if we see plenty more leaks and rumors between now and then. Got a tip? Talk to us! Wild Galaxy S26 Ultra leak points to a massively upgraded 200MP camera

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR A leaker has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could get a Sony-made 200MP camera. This camera would be notably larger than the 200MP main camera used on the S25 Ultra, suggesting improved image quality. This would be an uncharacteristic move by Samsung, as it's typically been conservative with hardware upgrades. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has the same 200MP main camera seen on Samsung's previous two Ultra phones, and we weren't expecting an upgrade in 2026. However, a leaker has now made an audacious claim about the Galaxy S26 Ultra's main camera. Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo has claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will use a 1/1.1-inch 200MP Sony camera sensor, ostensibly for the main camera. Check out the machine-translated screenshot below. This would be a big deal for two reasons. Easily the most notable thing about this claim is that it's a 1/1.1-inch 200MP camera sensor. This would be notably larger than the 200MP sensor (1/1.3-inch) currently seen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and previous phones. In fact, this would be slightly smaller than the one-inch cameras seen on some rival flagship Android phones. This larger camera would enable increased light intake, which should improve picture quality compared to current 200MP sensors. So, if Samsung opts for this sensor on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, we're expecting better low-light shots and higher-quality cropped zoom images. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if full-resolution 200MP pictures from this sensor are noticeably superior to the S25 Ultra's 200MP images. What main camera would you like to see on the Galaxy S26 Ultra? 0 votes A larger 200MP camera NaN % A large 50MP camera NaN % I'm happy with the current 200MP camera NaN % This would also be a big deal as Samsung has exclusively used in-house 200MP cameras for its Ultra phones. That's because Sony hasn't released a 200MP sensor just yet. So this would represent the Japanese firm's move into the ultra-high-resolution smartphone sensor space. In saying so, this would be an uncharacteristically aggressive move by Samsung, which has historically played it safe with hardware upgrades. This also comes after two sources previously said the Galaxy S26 Ultra would have a 200MP main camera. However, neither source specified whether this would be an upgraded 200MP sensor. So we'd advise you to take this latest rumor with a pinch of salt for now. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
