‘Solar Opposites' Returns One Last Time This October

It's very sad bidding farewell to Solar Opposites, but at least we get one more 10-episode season to enjoy before it wraps up its entertainingly bizarre mix of sci-fi antics, surreal subplots, crass jokes, wacky t-shirts, holiday specials, and sweet lessons about found family. And we won't have to wait too long: season six hits Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting October 13. There's an official description of the new season as well as a teaser, neither of which tell us much: 'Once their alien diamond-making machine gets destroyed, the Solar Opposites must face their greatest challenge yet: living their expensive lives on a budget! When their consumerist habits and expensive hobbies are gone, only their true selves will remain… but will they like who they find? ALSO: The epic story of the people of the Wall has all built to this thrilling and shocking conclusion…' Along with the main cast of Dan Stevens (Korvo), Thomas Middleditch (Terry), Mary Mack (Jesse), and Sean Giambrone (Yumyulack), season six's guest cast includes Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry O'Connell, and Beck Bennett. Executive produced by Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel, and Sydney Ryan, Solar Opposites is produced by 20th Television Animation. Will you be tuning in to see how it all ends? Want more io9 news? King of the Hill Season 14 returns on Hulu with time-jump revival on THIS date

More than a decade after its original run ended, 'King of the Hill' is officially returning to screens. The much-loved animated comedy will premiere its 14th season on Hulu on August 4, the streamer has announced. Originally aired on Fox from 1997 to 2010, the series ran for 13 seasons and became known for its sharp yet heartfelt portrayal of small-town life in Arlen, Texas. The new 10-episode season picks up years later and acts as a direct continuation of the original. One of the biggest changes is Bobby Hill, who was a middle schooler throughout the original series. In the revival, Bobby is now an adult, living in Dallas and working as a chef. Hulu released a first look from the new season, showing an older Bobby and a familiar setting with a time-lapse opening that tracks the Hill family moving out of and back into their home. According to Hulu's official description, Hank and Peggy Hill return to Arlen after years working in Saudi Arabia, ready to retire and reconnect with old friends — including Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby enjoys his life in his 20s, alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane. Most of the original voice cast is back, including Mike Judge (who also co-created the series), Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss. Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale, passed away in August 2023 after completing some recordings for the revival. The revival is executive produced by Judge and Greg Daniels, with Saladin Patterson as showrunner. The series is produced by 20th Television Animation.

The Simpsons has been renewed for four more seasons - but fans are concerned

Fox has renewed The Simpsons for four more seasons, extending its record-breaking run to 40 seasons. Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and American Dad also received four-season renewals from Fox. The renewals reflect the enduring popularity of these animated comedies and the strong partnership between Fox and 20th Television Animation. While the news is celebrated by the network, some fans expressed concern about the show's future quality and the strain on its long-time voice actors. The Simpsons recently moved from Channel 4 to E4 in the UK, with new seasons premiering on Disney+ before airing on E4. Simpsons fans worried after announcement is made following 36 seasons on air
