Real estate trading volume surpasses QR1 bn in week
QNA Doha Real estate trading in Qatar exceeded QR1 billion during the week of June 1–5, according to data released by the Ministry of Justice's Real Estate Registration Department. The total value of sales contracts registered during this period reached QR911,760,894. In addition, sales contracts for residential units alone amounted to QR99,348,178, bringing the combined value to more than QR1 billion. The department's weekly real estate bulletin indicated that the transactions included a diverse range of properties such as vacant lands, residential homes, apartment buildings, commercial buildings, shops, and residential units. Sales activity was notably concentrated in the municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Dhaayen, Umm Salal, Al Khor and Al Dhakira, Al Shamal, and Al Shahania. Key locations such as The Pearl, Lusail 69, Ghar Thuaileb, and Legtaifiya also featured prominently in the trading activity.

HC extends CAPF presence in Murshidabad's troubled zones
Kolkata: on Thursday directed the to remain in Murshidabad, where violent protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 claimed three lives in April. A division bench of justices Soumen Sen and Raja Basu Chowdhury extended the presence of paramilitary forces deployed in trouble-torn zones of the district and directed adequate deployment of police force till the situation became normal and peaceful. Senior state counsel Kalyan Bandyopadhyay said the state would abide by the bench's observations. The counsel, while submitting the SIT report, said as many as 348 people had been arrested for the violence. The division bench took note of the state's submission that 82 families had been rehabilitated so far, and that one of the three victim families had accepted the Rs 10 lakh state compensation. When petitioner Suvendu Adhikari's counsel contested the state's statement, the bench directed the state to file an affidavit and circulate it to the petitioners before the next hearing on July 31. The bench directed the state to take more effective steps considering the poor plight of those who had to leave their home and hearth after the violence. It also sought a fresh investigation report from SIT. The division bench, however, sent the case records of the father-son victims, namely Haragobinda Das and Chandan Das, killed on April 12, to the Chief Justice for appropriate assignment. Justice Tirthankar Ghosh earlier released the case on the ground that there was a bench hearing the Murshidabad matter. The division bench held that the matter had to be heard by a writ court.

Marte had been sidelined since April 4 after sustaining a Grade 1 left hamstring strain while rounding the bases in a game against Washington. Arizona (17-14) enters the game having won two straight against the New York Mets and has won three of its last four. Prior to going on the IL, Marte was batting .348 with a homer and had hit safely in all eight games for Arizona. A day before getting hurt, Marte agreed to a contract that guarantees the All-Star $116.5 million through 2031, a six-year deal that includes a player option and $46 million in deferred money payable through 2040.
