Taiwan-based Malaysian actor Hero Tai says wife's constant air-cond use led to RM2k electricity bill

Malaysian actor Hero Tai and his Ukrainian wife, model Tatiana Lin, recently aired their marital woes during an appearance on a Taiwanese variety show. The couple, who are currently based in Taiwan, revealed that clashing views on finances have been a huge source of tension in their relationship. 'I'm trying to save money, but she's busy spending it,' Tai, 38, said as quoted by Singaporean news outlet 8days. 'I manage the finances myself – from groceries to baby formula, diapers and baby food. However, she's unwilling to communicate about it.' Tai, known for his roles in Kepong Gangster and The Perfect Girl, had previously grumbled about Lin spending NT$10,000 (RM1,439) a month on coffee alone. Their latest budget battle? Air conditioning. According to Tai, there was no reason for Lin to keep the air conditioner running all day, which has resulted in a steep NT$16,000 (RM2,303) electricity bill. Defending her actions, Lin – who married Tai in 2023 and is currently expecting their second child – cited the punishing summer heat. 'What do you expect me to do? Not turn on the air conditioner? We have a child at home too!' she said. Lin called Tai's penny-pinching habits 'ridiculous', adding: 'He calculates everything – this diaper is NT$5 (72 sen) and that one NT$6 (86 sen). Why waste time? Just grab whatever. I'll buy whichever one I like.' Tai then argued that the diapers Lin chose cost NT$15 (RM2.16) each, while his pick came in at just over NT$5. However, Lin said her choice was justified, as the diapers she wanted were much gentler on a baby's sensitive skin. Although he remained unconvinced, Tai said he eventually relented and paid the bill.

Former HK Actress Suet Nay Passed Away From Cancer One Week After Husband Tong Gai's Passing

Hong Kong mourns the loss of two legendary figures in the entertainment industry. Last month, on 23rd June (Monday), the iconic martial artist Tong Gai (Tang Chia, 唐佳) passed away. Sadly, just a week later, on the 3rd July (Thursday), his wife Hung Suet Nay (熊雪妮) died after a long battle with cancer. Their passing marks the end of an era for Hong Kong's martial arts and film community. Together, they built a lasting legacy through countless classic films and unwavering devotion. Fans remember them not only for their talent but also for their inspiring love story spanning decades. Their influence continues to shape the industry and inspire new generations. Li Chao-chun (李超純), better known as Suet Nay (雪妮), gained fame for her roles in martial arts and Cantonese opera films. She starred in classics such as 'The Female Black Heroine Mulan Hua (女黑俠木蘭花)' and 'The Blue-Eyed Demoness (碧眼魔女)'. Shortly after marrying Tong Gai, she moved to Canada. However, in 1997, she returned to Hong Kong to resume her acting career. According to reports, Suet Nay's health had been deteriorating for years. She struggled with genetic hearing loss, often calling her husband her 'personal hearing aid.' She also endured long-term treatment for pancreatic cancer. These hardships reportedly took a toll on Tong Gai and at one point, he confided to their son that he wished to 'leave with her.' Although Tong Gai's death was alleged as a suicide, no note was found. Their marriage was cherished in Hong Kong and often regarded as one of show business's most loving unions. Suet Nay had called him her bodyguard, manager, and assistant. She admitted to being bold and sometimes argumentative, but Tong Gai always gave in with quiet patience. Now, perhaps, they can rest peacefully together—free from illness, pain, and parting. Their story remains a rare portrait of enduring love in the entertainment world. We extend our deepest condolences to their family and friends. Their bond and legacy will live on through the timeless classics that shaped Hong Kong's golden age of martial arts cinema. 'A source of love, joy and kindness': Mediacorp baking show contestant dies aged 35, husband pays tribute, Entertainment News

Michelle Goh, the owner of 2112 Bakery at Bugis, has died at the age of 35 on June 17. The mother-of-two had joined season 2 of Mediacorp baking show 'Creme De La Creme' in 2024, and was placed sixth out of eight contestants on the show. Her husband, who only gave his name as Ken, announced her death in a post on the bakery's social media accounts on the same day. "It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that I share the passing of my beloved wife, Michelle Goh, who left us on June 17, 2025," he wrote. "She was a source of love, joy and kindness, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts. While words cannot express the pain of this loss, we find comfort in remembering the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all who knew her." He added in his post that she would be cremated at Mandari Crematorium Hall today (June 21). Michelle's cause of death is unknown and she leaves behind her husband and two young children. Michelle shared that she started her business as a home-based bakery in 2019, after leaving her job as a nail technician, reported 8days. At the time, she was diagnosed with depression and found comfort in baking. She later opened a bakery in Toa Payoh, and subsequently relocated to OG Bugis in December 2024 due to poor business. She also has a rojak and popiah stall at Yew Tee Square, and a snack stall at Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre, which is operated by her mother. It is currently unclear if the businesses will continue to operate. Despite participating in Mediacorp's baking competition show, the exposure did not result in more sales for her bakery and she lost $19,000 from her Toa Payoh bakery, she told 8days. She added that her husband had asked then if she wanted to shutter the business, but she "didn't want to waste [her] efforts" and needed time. In December 2024, Michelle posted a TikTok and Instagram Reel and spoke about her struggles in operating a business. She said tearfully in the Reel: "To be honest, having a business is serving us right, because we could have just gone out and work. But [operating a business] is all about our commitment, passion and being proud of ourselves and making my parents and my kids proud." She added: "I feel good whenever I leave the shop at night. I kept smiling to myself knowing that this is how far [I had come]. But there is too much stress going on." @ Not negative but just real feeling. ♬ original sound - 2112 Bakery [[nid:718794]] Samaritans of Singapore: 1800-221-4444 Singapore Association for Mental Health: 1800-283-7019 Care Corner Counselling Centre (Mandarin): 1800-353-5800 Institute of Mental Health's Mental Health Helpline: 6389-2222 Silver Ribbon: 6386-1928 Shan You Counselling Centre (Mandarin): 6741-0078 Fei Yue's Online Counselling Service: Tinkle Friend (for primary school children): 1800-2744-788

‘I love a lively home': Aaron Kwok says going to be a daddy again at 59, confirms wife Moka Fang is pregnant on Father's Day

HONG KONG, June 15 – Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok has confirmed that he and wife Moka Fang are expecting their third child, ending weeks of speculation. Singapore's entertainment portal 8days quoted him speaking at a promotional event for his new film My First Of May, where the 59-year-old singer and actor said he is 'going to be a daddy again' and described the news as 'happy' but declined to share further details. 'I'm going to be a daddy again. This is happy news — I won't go into too much detail,' he reportedly said. 'I've always said, the more children at home, the livelier it is — and I love a lively home! I think it's wonderful.' 'It's not that I don't want to talk about it, but I'm always working. And today happens to be Father's Day. Like I always say, it's all about the right timing and environment. I'm very thankful to the heavens,' he added. Kwok said he would accept 'whatever comes' when asked about the baby's gender and revealed his daughters, Chantelle, seven, and Charlotte, five, are somewhat aware they will soon have a sibling. Speculation about Fang's pregnancy surfaced in May after she posted photos on Mother's Day wearing a loose-fitting dress that revealed what appeared to be a baby bump. At the time, Kwok responded ambiguously to questions, saying, 'I have always believed that children are a gift from God. This is something to be grateful for, and I will not respond too much.'
