China's Arctech to supply solar trackers for Oman's green ammonia project
MUSCAT: India's integrated energy group ACME says it has signed a contract with Arctech, a global Chinese-based leader in solar tracking solutions, to supply 175 MWp of solar trackers for its 300 MTPD (metric tonnes per day) Green Ammonia Project in Duqm. Arctech will deploy its Signature 1P Single Axis Solar Tracking System Skyline II, engineered for harsh environments, to support the solar PV component powering one of the first large-scale green hydrogen production facilities in the region. The trackers will be delivered in phases starting from July 2025. This milestone collaboration underscores Arctech's growing role in enabling renewable energy megaprojects worldwide. The Oman installation is a flagship initiative in industrial decarbonization—integrating solar power with next-gen hydrogen fuel technologies, setting new benchmarks in clean energy integration. Moreover, Arctech has an extensive track record of experience in numerous GW-scale large projects across the globe, which instils confidence in this partnership. "We are pleased to partner with Arctech for our 300 MTPD Green Hydrogen project in Duqm, Oman. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our green hydrogen journey, and we are confident that Arctech's advanced tracking solutions and project execution capabilities will support us in achieving optimal energy efficiency and reliability under challenging coastal and high-wind site conditions," said by Vipin Aggarwal, VP of Procurement in Green Hydrogen and International Business. Last month, ACME Group's Oman subsidiary signed agreements covering the second and third phases of its Duqm project with a target to produce approximately 71,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and 400,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually for each phase. The signing coincided with the implementation of the first phase, targeting a production of 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia, supported by a purchase agreement with the Norwegian company Yara. Upon completion of all phases of the project, the group aims to reach an annual production capacity of 0.9 million tonnes of green ammonia.

ACME Cleantech orders solar trackers for Duqm green ammonia project
India-headquartered ACME Cleantech Solutions has signed a contract with China's Arctech for 175 MWp (Megawatt peak) of solar trackers for the solar component of its 300 MTPD (Metric Tonnes Per Day) Green Ammonia Project in Duqm, Oman. The trackers will be delivered in phases starting from July 2025, Arctech said in a press statement, adding that it will deploy its 1P single axis solar tracking system Skyline II, engineered for harsh environments, for the project. According to the statement, the green ammonia project is located near the southeastern coast of Oman, characterised by coastal desert conditions including sandy soils, high wind speeds (up to 55 m/s), C5-level corrosion exposure, extreme temperatures and high levels of solar radiation, with an annual average of around 5,764 KWh/m2. The area's high solar insolation has made it a prime location for utility-scale solar projects. In June 2023, ACME announced that it secured a 40 billion Indian rupees loan from REC, one of the India's largest green infrastructure financial institutions, for its green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Oman. The company had said in a press statement that the first phase of the facility is expected to produce 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually and will be expanded to 1.2 million tonnes per annum with about 3.5 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser capacity, which will be powered by 5.5 GWp solar PV plant. ACME Solar commissions 1st phase of 26.4 MW wind project in Gujarat; operational capacity reaches 2,731.4 MW
New Delhi: ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned the first phase of its 50 MW wind power project at Shapar in Gujarat, adding 26.4 MW and taking the company's total operational renewable energy capacity to 2,731.4 MW, according to a company statement. The ACME Pokhran wind project is being implemented in phases, and the 26.4 MW capacity commissioned is the initial stage. Prior to this, the company's operational capacity stood at 2,705 MW. The project is financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and constructed in-house by ACME's EPC division using Envision 3.3 MW turbines. The power generated is pooled at a 33/220 kV pooling station and stepped up for evacuation via a dedicated single circuit 220 kV transmission line to the Shapar sub-station. The Shapar sub-station will also be used for evacuating power from ACME's upcoming 100 MW wind project currently under advanced stages of construction. The power generated from the ACME Pokhran wind project will be sold under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). ACME Solar Holdings has a total renewable energy portfolio of 6,970 MW comprising solar, wind, firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE), and hybrid projects. Of this, 2,731.4 MW is operational, while the remaining 4,238.6 MW is at various stages of implementation.

An Honor Student Died in Car Crash After Being Shot. Now, 3 Juveniles Are Charged With His Murder
A 17-year-old honor student was killed after authorities say he was shot and subsequently crashed his car. Three juveniles from Millville, N.J., were charged with homicide, conspiracy, robbery and weapons offenses in connection with the May 17 incident, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says. Prosecutors say surveillance revealed that two of the suspects, who were not named, had an encounter with the victim, who was shot once, before returning to the home of the third suspect. "Investigators learned that one of the juveniles had been in contact with the victim prior to his death and directed the victim to meet the other two juveniles in Millville," prosecutors say. Though the prosecutor's office did not name the victim, he was identified as Lucas DeGeorge in a GoFundMe started by his family."On May 17, 2025 our beloved son Lucas was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of gun violence," his parents wrote. "No words can truly express the pain and heartbreak our family is enduring right now." His parents say that he was a junior at Buena Regional High School, where he was an honor student. "An honor student enrolled in advanced classes, he was both intelligent and driven," his obituary reads. "He worked at ACME in Mays Landing and, in many capacities, helped his dad flip houses with the Veteran Home Project." Read the original article on People
