The major online retailer said its Receipts Program will end in the UK on August 1. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Amazon receipts program is changing for customers Currently, customers can upload receipts for products they bought from rival shops via the Amazon shopping panel, and earn money back. Shoppers earn 10p for each receipt they upload. Alternatively, they can upload 50 receipt pictures to get the maximum reward of £5. Panellists were alerted to the change via a notification in the app. The move has sparked fury among customers, with many taking to social media to complain. Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, one shopper said: "I'm gutted I get £7-8 a month from it and it all adds up. While another added: "Oh no! I've got £141 since I've been doing it. Don't get many surveys, some months I don't get any, so not worth keeping." And a third moaned: "Gutted, over £200 since I started doing it." It is not the first time the retail giant has made changes to this feature. Back in October, shoppers were left heartbroken after Amazon said shoppers would need to upload 50 receipts instead of 10 to get the £5 reward. Amazon 'hiking' prices ahead of Prime Day after shoppers claim company 'great savings' aren't real Panellists can still earn rewards through completing surveys for Amazon. The amount customers earn varies per survey and you can see the amount before choosing to complete the survey. The Sun has approached Amazon for comment. How does the Amazon shopper panel work? The shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program where participants can earn monthly rewards by sharing receipts from purchases made outside of Amazon. Once you receive a notification, customers can download the app from the app store or the Google Play store. Before you join, you may be put on a waiting list and you will be sent an email when you can join. As well as uploading receipts to earn cash, users can also take part in surveys and enable ad verification for extra rewards. The amount you can earn per survey varies, but you will be able to see how much you can earn before you take part. Enrolling in ad verification - allowing Amazon to see the ads that appear on your phone - can earn you £2 per month. If you decide the app isn't for you, you can stop using it anytime. More ways to make money online There are plenty of other websites that pay you for completing surveys or other tasks. For example, Swagbucks has paid out millions globally and reward users for surveys, watching clips and browsing the web. Regular users report earning upwards of £300 a year for just 15 minutes of their time. Expect to earn around 50p a survey which will typically take up to 20 minutes. You can get your payouts either as PayPal cash or shopping vouchers. Elsewhere, Opinium is used by top firms for research. Surveys pay 50p on average and take around five minutes, you'll have to work up to £25 before you can get a payout. Get your money through cash with a bank transfer or gift vouchers.

Quick ways to make cash Install an app Some apps will pay you to install other apps on your phone. Just by installing an app on your phone, you could earn £20 in online vouchers. By downloading Ipsos Media Cell, a consumer data tracking software, you will receive a £20 voucher by installing an app on your phone. You also have to fill in a quick survey. You will then get £10 each month that you keep the app installed on your phone. The app is owned by renowned research company IPSOS Mori. It's designed to get more information about how people consume media, what they watch and listen to and what devices they use. TaskRabbit specialises in DIY and other more physical tasks such as home repairs, cleaning and moving house. The app also runs a partnership with furniture store IKEA, where "taskers" get paid to assemble flat pack furniture for its customers, meaning a steady stream of work. Share deals and get paid If you find a good deal you could get paid for sharing it with others. Some sites give people vouchers for sharing the deals they find in stores and online. LatestDeals is a money-saving community in the UK and they hand out vouchers for people who share deals on its website. Members of LatestDeals earn points and Amazon vouchers, for sharing deals, vouchers, competitions and commenting and voting on deals. You have to get to a minimum of 5,000 points before you get a £5 Amazon voucher. There's a guide to how many points you can earn for different activities on the website. Earn cashback Cashback sites are becoming more and more popular as shoppers become more savvy. A cashback site will give you cash back when you spend money online. TopCashback and Quidco are two of the most popular and sometimes you can earn hundreds. The Quidco website states that their average member earns around £300 per year. When you're shopping, make sure you click through the websites to get some extra cash. Both have widgets you can download and add to your browser so you never forget. They are free to use but there are plus memberships that cost £5 a year and can give you a higher rate of cashback.

Exact date free TV app will VANISH from your devices as Amazon shuts down beloved streaming service
But one popular feature is making a surprise return OFF AIR Exact date free TV app will VANISH from your devices as Amazon shuts down beloved streaming service Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) AMAZON has confirmed the exact date its popular Freevee streaming app will disappear from devices — and it's sooner than you might think. The free TV service will shut down for good on 31 August 2025, vanishing from Fire TV Stick, Roku, and dozens of other platforms. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Amazon's decision follows similar moves across the industry, with companies consolidating their services Credit: Getty The closure affects viewers in the UK, as well as the United States, Germany, and Austria, where Freevee has been available as a standalone, ad-supported streaming service. From 1 September, users will no longer be able to stream TV shows, films or live channels via the Freevee app. A message now pops up when opening Freevee, reading: "Prime Video is the new exclusive home for Freevee TV shows, movies and Live TV. "The Freevee app will be accessible until August 2025. "Continue watching your favourite Free Originals and our library of hit movies, shows, and live TV on Prime Video for free, no subscription needed. "Download Prime Video to get started and sign-in with your Amazon account." Freevee, which once boasted over 3,000 films and 450 TV shows, had some standout hits during its run — including Jury Duty, Neighbours, and Bosch: Legacy. It also offered ad-supported access to major Amazon originals such as Reacher and The Wheel of Time, usually exclusive to Prime Video subscribers. The shutdown of Freevee is part of a broader move by Amazon to streamline its entertainment offerings. By folding Freevee into Prime Video, the tech giant is aiming to reduce confusion and offer all of its content through a single platform — even if that means introducing ads for everyone. Amazon's Freevee cancels beloved comedy after 'short but beautiful run,' creator reveals as show looks for new home Importantly, Amazon has confirmed that the entire Freevee catalogue will remain available via Prime Video after the standalone app is retired. Non-Prime subscribers will still be able to access this content for free, with ads, under the "Watch for Free" section. It's not just the Freevee app getting the axe. According to industry insiders, some of Freevee's FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV) channels will also be shut down. These include smaller themed channels and spin-offs that focused on specific genres or older series. While the main shows will still be available, some of the 24/7 linear-style streams are expected to vanish completely. What you need to do If you're a Freevee user, you'll need to get yourself sorted before August to keep watching your favs. Download the Prime Video app if you don't already have it (it's supported on almost every streaming device and Smart TV in the UK). Sign in with your Amazon account (or create a free one if you don't already have one). Look for the 'Watch for Free' label on content. All the shows and films you've been enjoying on Freevee should still be available without requiring a Prime subscription. Amazon's decision follows similar moves across the industry, with companies consolidating their services. Google has folded Play Movies & TV into YouTube, and Warner Bros. Discovery has merged Discovery+ content into Max. Even Paramount is reportedly reviewing the future of Pluto TV in certain markets. Freevee was launched in 2019 under the name IMDb Freedive, before becoming IMDb TV and finally rebranding to Freevee in 2022. It entered a crowded streaming market alongside other ad-supported platforms like Tubi, The Roku Channel, Plex, Crackle, and Fawesome. Many of these continue to operate, but the space is tightening as big tech firms streamline their offerings. Viewers who still use Freevee on Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, or on devices like Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV Stick, PlayStation, Xbox, or mobile phones and tablets, will need to download Prime Video and sign in with their Amazon account to continue watching. Prime Video remains free to download. For those without a subscription, the app will still offer a large selection of ad-supported content — effectively replacing what Freevee used to provide. Earlier this year, Amazon introduced advertising to its Prime Video service unless users pay an extra £2.99 per month. That controversial decision blurred the lines between Freevee and Prime Video, and likely played a key role in the company's choice to merge the two. In a statement to Deadline, an Amazon spokesperson explained: "To deliver a simpler viewing experience for customers, we have decided to phase out Freevee branding. "A vast offering of free streaming content will still be accessible for non-Prime members, including select Originals, licensed movies and series, and FAST Channels – all available on Prime Video. "A vast offering of free streaming content will still be accessible for non-Prime members, including select Originals, licensed movies and series, and FAST Channels – all available on Prime Video." Amazon also confirmed that no redundancies are expected as a result of the closure, with Freevee's team already merged into Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios as part of earlier restructuring.
