Rubrik to use AMD EPYC processors for data security platform
NEW DELHI: Global cybersecurity company Rubrik said it will utilise AMD EPYC processors for its data security platform to deliver cost-effective and artificial intelligence (AI)-ready solutions to enterprise customers while expanding deployment options in cloud environments . The companies in a joint statement said that organisations are moving from on-premises to cloud environments and the demand for AI-powered solutions is on the rise, noting that organisations, particularly among financial services and others, are increasingly turning to AMD technology for mission-critical workloads. 'As we look to the future, we plan to lead with AMD technology in our upcoming product generations, responding to market demand and the clear advantages in performance efficiency,' said Arvind Nithrakashyap, co-founder & chief technology officer (CTO), Rubrik. To meet growing customer demand for lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) without impacting performance or security, Rubrik is expanding its partnership with AMD that began in 2018 with the E1000 appliance and currently includes nearly 50% of Cloud Native Protection being run on AMD instances in AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with more support continuously being added. Rubrik is now planning to significantly expand AMD EPYC processor availability across its third-party hardware ecosystem, with solutions currently available on Dell and HPE platforms, and a Cisco-based solution launching in the coming quarter. Rubrik has two cloud offerings--Cloud Native Protection and Rubrik Cloud Cluster. The cybersecurity firm said it is adding AMD instance support to Rubrik Cloud Cluster in AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI by the end of July. ' AMD EPYC processors can deliver exceptional performance with leading-edge energy efficiency, helping companies like Rubrik meet their customers' growing demands of data security while helping reduce environmental impact,' said Derek Dicker, corporate vice president (enterprise and HPC business), AMD.

Advanced Micro Devices (NasdaqGS:AMD) Powers Rubrik's AI-Ready Data Security Platform Expansion
The integration of AMD EPYC processors into Rubrik's platform exemplifies a recent push for enhanced cost-effectiveness and AI capabilities among enterprise clients. Over the past month, Advanced Micro Devices experienced a price move of 16%, aligning with several influential corporate events. The earnings report on May 6 highlighted strong financial performance with significant sales and net income growth. Additionally, the announcement of a substantial increase in its equity buyback plan on May 14 likely added confidence among investors. These developments potentially provided momentum to AMD's share price, exceeding the market's broader 2% climb last week. Buy, Hold or Sell Advanced Micro Devices? View our complete analysis and fair value estimate and you decide. Diversify your portfolio with solid dividend payers offering reliable income streams to weather potential market turbulence. The recent integration of AMD EPYC processors into Rubrik's platform highlights AMD's strategic push to enhance its competitiveness in AI and enterprise markets. Despite this, regulatory challenges and competition are expected to limit AMD's access to key international markets, impacting revenue opportunities. Nevertheless, over the last five years, AMD's total shareholder return was 116.41%. This significant growth contrasts with its 1-year underperformance against the US Semiconductor industry, where it lagged with an 11.6% change. Looking ahead, the recent developments boost investor confidence with potential positive effects on AMD's earnings forecasts, particularly through expanded share in server CPUs and AI-driven demand. While the recent 16% share price movement reflects some immediate investor optimism, it remains below the consensus price target of US$127.53, suggesting room for potential appreciation. It's important to weigh these optimistic growth drivers against the bearish analyst sentiment, which sets a lower price target of US$76.7, recognizing risks such as increased competition and regulatory constraints. As AMD's forward-looking strategies unfold, investor attention will likely remain focused on execution and market conditions affecting its valuation.
