Madhuri Dixit's in-laws 'weren't happy' when husband Shriram Nene moved to India

Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit married Dr Shriram Nene in 1999. Following their marriage, she relocated to the United States to be with him. However, she made a comeback in 2007 with the film 'Aaja Nachle' and later appeared as a judge on several reality shows. Eventually, the family decided to move back to this transition, Dr Nene decided to leave his job as a heart surgeon in Denver and ventured into the field of medical technology entrepreneurship. In a conversation shared on his YouTube channel, Dr Nene revealed, 'I am Indian. I grew up from an immigrant start, and my parents certainly weren't happy that I am leaving the prototypical job of a heart surgeon and kind of every Indian's wet dream, with like perfect sort of situations and lots of friends and the head of the hospital. But I could operate, at the most, on 3-5 patients with open-heart surgery and in a year maybe 500 patients."advertisementDr Nene shared that he had an interest in technology from a young age, having started a software company at the age of 14. However, his parents encouraged him to pursue a career in medicine or engineering. After two decades in the medical field, he found it rewarding but envisioned a future where healthcare could be enhanced through media and technology. He aimed to create digital solutions that could make healthcare accessible to everyone. In 2011, Dr Nene decided to give up his day job as a practicing heart surgeon. This decision was met with surprise and concern from his colleagues and staff. Initially, his parents were not supportive, but their perspective changed when they witnessed the success of some of his those unfamiliar, after marrying Dr Nene, Madhuri Dixit moved to Denver, USA, where she focused on her family life and took a break from her Bollywood career. She made occasional appearances in films and television during this period.
