Everton face huge overhaul with Grealish on six-man wishlist and 12 likely exits
Everton are leaving behind Goodison Park for their brand-new stadium and the team that walks out for the first Premier League game of the new season in August could look a lot different too Everton will have to make more than stadium moves this summer. They're heading to Bramley Moore Dock and the Hill Dickinson Stadium but there will be plenty of movement in the transfer window owing to an overhaul of the playing squad. It was confirmed this week that a significant number of players will leave the club at the end of this month when their contracts expire. Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Joao Virginia, Asmir Begovic, Mason Holgate and Neal Maupay will leave which was expected. While loanees Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja will return to their parent clubs after mixed success on loan. Now it looks like Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave. His contract is set to expire, too. Talks have been ongoing about a new deal but it is understood they stalled and may not be reignited. There's been contact with defender Michael Keane but the England international may move on. Discussions with Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gana Gueye have been more positive. Yet Gueye, 35, wants longer than the one-year offer on the table though while Coleman, 36, may yet opt for a coaching position if he doesn't want to play on. There are plenty of areas which need adding to the squad for manager David Moyes and a new sporting structure at the club under owners, The Friedkin Group. Angus Kinnear joined Everton as CEO from Leeds last month but there's a sporting team working with Moyes rather than one director of football following Kevin Thelwell's departure. The first signing of the summer has been to make Charly Alcaraz's deal permanent after a loan move from Flamengo was turned into a £12.6m permanent transfer and a two-year contract with the option of a third. Everton were active in the Liam Delap chase but were aware they were well down the pecking order given the other clubs in the discussion for the now former Ipswich striker. Chelsea won that race but the Toffees felt they could offer the England U21 star the best progression under less scrutiny than he will face at a top club. Yet their move for him was a sign that they are in the market for a new starting No 9, even if a deal with Calvert-Lewin can somehow be resurrected. Where that search goes now is not known, they could go for a similar profile and age to Delap or switch it up for more experience. There's no interest in free agent Jamie Vardy despite some links. A back-up keeper will be sought to support Jordan Pickford with full-back depth being looked at as well. Midfield will be an area they will also look to bolster given the departure of Doucoure, who refused a pay cut to stay while the wing positions will definitely need first-team players brought in. Jack Grealish has been heavily linked but there's been no contact there as of yet with Manchester City or the player. Everton's need of new recruits will of course make them an easy club for players to be linked with in what is expected to be a busy summer. They may look at a centre-back should Keane depart. Jarrad Branthwaite is not for sale, though. The club is confident they're in a strong position now with new owners and PSR to ensure they don't have their hand forced on that. But how they spread their transfer budget across the squad will be interesting. Everton are leaving behind Goodison Park for their brand-new stadium and the team that walks out for the first game in August could look a lot different too.

Premier League team target Rangers star Mohamed Diomande as part of sensational squad overhaul
Two of their star midfielders are leaving this summer RANGERS favourite Mohamed Diomande is reportedly on the radar of an EPL side as they look to make key additions to their squad. The Daily Express say that the 23-year-old could be in line for a sensational move from Ibrox to the Premier League just a year on from joining. Orel Mangala and Abdoulaye Doucoure are two that are set to depart the Merseyside outfit, with the Gers star considered an option to add some cover in that position and others. If he were to make the move he would arrive at Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, their new home since leaving Goodison Park at the close of the season. Scottish manager David Moyes led The Toffees to a 13th placed finish in last season's league competition. Advertisement The ex-Manchester United boss said after their final game at Goodison that the noise from fans was 'unbelievable' and that they have a big season of change ahead. He said: "It cries out as a club which is desperate for good times and things to celebrate. "If you look at the disappointments they've had over recent years this now looks like something everyone's looking forward to, a change of stadium. "If I'd turned up for today's game I'd have thought this was for us winning the championship or us being in a cup final, it was amazing. Other people before me as well, other good managers. Liam Delap tipped to snub Man Utd and Chelsea for EVERTON transfer after fans spot gesture following match vs Toffees "We've now got ourselves really in a good position, finished the season really strongly, so I'm hoping we can take the same atmosphere we had today down to the new stadium. "But we'll need to perform the way we have done over the last few weeks." Advertisement Everton chiefs had to deal carefully in the transfer market after some unsuccessful moves but with a strong end to the season and good midtable finish, things are looking on the up again. Up in Scotland, a Diomande exit would surely not be the only one as the recently confirmed American takeover brings with it big changes including a cash injection and - eventually - a new manager. Reports also suggest that Robin Propper and Ridvan Yilmaz could both be on their way to their respective former clubs in a rebuild bid. Abdoulaye Doucoure hits back at claim over David Moyes and Everton exit - 'Stop this nonsense'
Abdoulaye Doucoure wants to make some things clear before he officially leaves Everton it would seem. The midfielder has taken to social media to dismiss claims over his importance to the team. On Tuesday, Doucoure confirmed he would be leaving the Blues after five seasons. The club offered their No.16 a new deal, although the 32-year-old is set to take on a new challenge from the 2025-26 season. Doucoure has been a key player for Everton since his arrival under Carlo Ancelotti, playing in a number of different midfield roles. READ MORE: Sylvain Distin sends emotional Everton message and reveals what he 'loved' about Goodison Park READ MORE: I am glad transfer talks did not turn nasty - Everton must do what's best for them In recent years he has operated in more advanced positions and has chipped in with some crucial goals for the club. Doucoure famously scored the winner against AFC Bournemouth in 2023 to secure Everton's Premier League status on the final day of the campaign. While the goals have dried up in the past couple of seasons, in the current season Doucoure scored the fastest goal ever at Goodison Park in the 4-0 win over Leicester and a stoppage-time winner at Nottingham Forest. Although he's moving on, Doucoure has dismissed the idea that his impact at Everton has diminished significantly, responding to claims online on Wednesday. A post suggested David Moyes wants to change the Blues squad from "'moments' players to consistent players". It continued: "Doucoure a key example, shows up for big moments but is anonymous and ineffective most weeks." Doucoure replied: "I think if I was so ineffective I [would not] have played most of the games I've played for the club as the starter. So stop this nonsense and telling lies to people." While supporters have frequently debated Doucoure's role this season, what is clear is how much passion he has for Everton. The midfielder was clearly emotional after being taken off in the win over Southampton on Sunday and could be seen in tears during the post-match celebrations to mark the men's team's final game at Goodison Park. Those sentiments were echoed in the farewell video he shared on Tuesday to supporters. "I will miss the fans, I will miss the football club," he said. "I just wanted them to know that I gave everything, every single time in training and in games. "I was always proud to wear the shirt. I was always proud to play at Goodison Park. 'I gave everything to win as many games as I could. I will just miss the place and I wish them all the best in the new stadium."
