Pakistan's Ambassador to Egypt Presents Credentials to Arab League Chief in Cairo

Israa Farhan Pakistan's Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, formally presented his Letter of Credence to the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, at the League's Secretariat in Cairo today. The meeting underscored Pakistan's deepening interest in strengthening institutional ties with the Arab League and its member states. Both sides held wide-ranging discussions on bilateral cooperation, with a strong emphasis on enhancing Pakistan's engagement with the Arab world on critical regional and international matters. Central to the dialogue was the Palestinian issue, which remains a cornerstone of Arab League priorities. Shouket reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, highlighting Islamabad's consistent stance on the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Secretary General Aboul Gheit acknowledged Pakistan's unwavering diplomatic backing and welcomed deeper coordination on this front. Discussions also included current regional developments and avenues for collaboration in political, economic, and cultural fields. Both parties expressed commitment to closer coordination on shared challenges, including instability in the Middle East, global security dynamics, and rising humanitarian needs in conflict-affected areas. White House: Trump hopes Iran will accept his proposal

Basant Ahmed The White House announced that US President Donald Trump hopes Iran will accept Washington's proposal for the nuclear deal, otherwise there will be "serious consequences" for Tehran. White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said during a press conference on Tuesday that "Special Envoy Witkoff has sent a detailed proposal to the Iranian regime. The president hopes they will accept it." She added, "If this does not happen, there will be serious consequences." The United States and Iran have held five rounds of indirect negotiations to reach a new agreement on Iran's nuclear program. Arab League Chief Visits Jordan Amid Gaza War

Nada Mustafa Secretary-General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, arrived in Jordan on Sunday as part of a delegation from the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee tasked with following up on developments in the war in Gaza. Jamal Rushdi, official spokesperson for Secretary-General, stated that the delegation is expected to meet with His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Rushdi added that the delegation had initially planned to visit Ramallah and meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. However, the occupying power decided to prevent the delegation from making the visit. Arab League Secretary-General, Lebanese President Hold Talks in Cairo

Nada Mustafa Secretary-General of Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, received Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun during his first visit to Arab League headquarters since assuming office. Jamal Rushdi, spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that Aboul Gheit welcomed Lebanese President to the "House of the Arabs" and briefed him on the decisions and outcomes of the recent Arab Summit held in Baghdad. Moreover, Aboul Ghiet underlines the importance of the resolution to establish the Arab Fund for Recovery and Reconstruction from Crisis Impacts, to which the Iraqi government pledged $40 million, of which will be allocated to support reconstruction efforts in Lebanon. In addition, Secretary-General congratulated President Aoun on his recent visits to Arab countries, which he described as a strong indication that a new era has begun for Lebanon and that a renewed relationship between Lebanon and its Arab surroundings is underway. Rushdi added that Aboul Gheit affirmed Arab League's commitment and readiness to continue supporting Lebanon through all stages of its national journey.
