Tom Cruise boldly shows up at Oasis concert despite infamous diss by band members
Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were spotted among a sea of fans at the latest Oasis concert. Cruise, 63, and his upcoming "Deeper" co-star, 37, caught the Gallagher brothers performing at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday, July 25. English producer DJ Goldie snapped a selfie with Cruise at the show, nearly 20 years after the band mocked the "Mission: Impossible" actor. Noel and Liam Gallagher embarked on a comeback tour earlier this month — a series of concerts marking the first time Oasis has performed together since the band broke up in 2009. Cruise appeared to be loving every second of the performance as he smiled with the British DJ in a snap shared on Instagram. His attendance proved there was no ill-will between the trio, more than 18 years after Liam and Noel mocked the "Top Gun: Maverick" star. In an excerpt from the band's 2007 documentary, "Lord Don't Slow Me Down," Liam and Noel admitted they weren't fans of Cruise. "Tom Cruise is a f****** midget," Noel said, before continuing on, "He's a little f*****, and he's not been in one good film his entire career." "'Cocktail' is great," Liam said about Tom's classic 1988 romantic comedy, which also starred Elizabeth Shue. Still, Liam asserted, "I hate Tom Cruise." While some of the band argued that "Eyes Wide Shut" was a good Cruise film, Liam stood firm in his disdain. "I hate Tom Cruise. Him and [then–pro soccer player] Michael Owen," he said. Shortly after the Cruise cursing was released, the "Jerry Maguire" actor reportedly confronted Liam at a hotel in Berlin. While Cruise was in town to promote "Valkyrie," the Daily Star reported that Tom and Liam "made polite conversation" regarding Gallagher's disapproval. Cruise allegedly reminded the "Champagne Supernova" singer that he was still a fan of "Cocktail." The reported rift was far from his mind, though, this week as romance rumors continued to swirl between De Armas and Cruise. The pair — who will soon begin filming the supernatural thriller "Deeper" — sparked dating rumors earlier this year when they were spotted together in London. They've since been seen together several times, including on her birthday in April and at David Beckham's birthday party in May. De Armas admitted that it was "surreal" to hear kind words about her work from Cruise, ahead of their new film. "It's very special," de Armas told Access Hollywood in May when asked about him raving about her role in the film. "It's very surreal that an actor like him, like someone like him, likes the movie and my performance and my work, and we're working together now so, yeah, it's pretty, it's really amazing." In a photo and video captured by a bystander and shared on X of the April birthday stroll, Cruise walked next to de Armas with his hands behind his back and was holding what appeared to be an olive green dog leash with a pouch. The pair were accompanied by another woman as well as security guards. The day before de Armas' birthday, the "Ballerina" actress was photographed with Cruise as they disembarked a helicopter that was flown by the "Minority Report" star. On Feb. 13, the two were pictured walking through London's Soho neighborhood as de Armas carried what appeared to be takeout bags of food from a restaurant. They stopped for photos with fans before leaving in a taxi together. Originally published as Tom Cruise boldly shows up at Oasis concert despite infamous diss by band members

Trump cranks up distraction machine but focus refuses to budge from Epstein
Donald Trump displayed the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Sitting in the Oval Office, he was asked by a reporter about the justice department's hunt for evidence about the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. 'I don't really follow that too much,' he said. 'It's sort of a witch-hunt.' And then the pivot: 'The witch-hunt you should be talking about is that they caught President Obama absolutely cold.' Trump was claiming a plot by Barack Obama to rig the 2016 election, accusing his predecessor of 'treason'. For good measure he warned: 'Whether it's right or wrong, it's time to go after people.' Why this and why now? It is not much of a mystery. Trump, who once claimed that he could shoot someone on New York's Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters, has shot himself in the foot. His support base is in open revolt over his failure to release files relating to the convicted sex offender Epstein and a rumoured list of his elite clients. The president's solution is to reach for a very familiar playbook: distract, distract, distract. It worked for him during his biggest crisis in the 2016 election campaign. On the same day that an Access Hollywood tape emerged in which Trump was recorded making lewd comments about women, his campaign seized on the WikiLeaks release of thousands of emails hacked from the account of Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta. Trump survived and went on to win the election. Since then, whenever he lands in trouble, his fans have been eager to help him turn the page. But the Epstein saga cuts into Trump's core political identity as the slayer of the deep state. He is once again throwing out numerous shiny objects but they are losing their shine. Gwenda Blair, a Trump biographer, observes: 'It is the distraction machine that has worked in the past breaking down – trying the old favourites and not getting much traction. What's happened is like massive whiplash, which happens when you're in some sort of moving vehicle and it's going forward, often at a pretty high speed, and you suddenly crash into something and your neck jerks back often with very dire consequences.' The distraction machine has been working overtime. On 12 July Trump said he was considering revoking the New York-born actor Rosie O'Donnell's citizenship, writing on his Truth Social platform: 'She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!' On 16 July Trump posted that Coca-Cola had agreed to use real cane sugar in its flagship product in the US, which has been sweetened with high fructose corn syrup since the 1980s. The soft drinks company later confirmed the new product when it announced its second-quarter financial results. On 17 July, the White House offered a rare insight into the 79-year-old president's health. The press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told reporters that his bruised hand was a result of 'frequent handshaking' and his swollen legs caused by chronic venous insufficiency, though none of it was cause for concern. Then came a wild weekend on social media. Trump posted bizarre clips that showed a woman snatching a snake from the grass, a car sliding under a truck barrelling along a highway and people doing tricks on motorcycles and jet skis. More darkly, he made the baseless claim that Obama officials fabricated intelligence reports to assert that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. He followed up with a fake AI-generated video that depicts Obama being forced to kneel by FBI agents, who handcuff him next to a beaming Trump in the Oval Office, then wearing an orange jumpsuit and pacing in a prison cell, accompanied by the soundtrack of the Village People's YMCA. Trump also posted a photo featuring fake mug shots of former officials including James Comey, the former FBI director, and Samantha Power, the ex-head of USAID. 'How did Samantha Power make all of that money?' he wrote. And pivoting to sport, Trump threatened to block a deal for the Washington Commanders' new stadium if the American football team does not revert to its original name, the racially offensive Washington Redskins. On Monday there was another twist. The Trump administration released more than 6,000 documents related to the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr, totalling nearly a quarter of a million pages. The move appeared to backfire, however, merely serving as a reminder of Trump's ability to release any files he chooses. Bernice King, the civil rights leader's daughter, shot back on X: 'Now, do the Epstein files.' And Josh Johnson, host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, observed: 'That's how bad things are for Trump. His back is against the wall so hard he's releasing more Black history.' But Trump seems to have settled on Obama and 'Russiagate' as his main deflector shield. It drills into Maga bedrock, combining a racist backlash against Obama and conspiracy theories about the deep state. He is struggling to make it land, however. In Tuesday's Oval Office exchange, he claimed that there was 'irrefutable proof that Obama was 'sedacious'' – a word that does not exist. On Wednesday, Tulsi Gabbard, the director national intelligence, made a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room to make baseless claims that Obama and his treasonous advisers plotted nothing short of a coup. But again, the White House was upstaged by a media report that Trump was told in May that his name is in the Epstein files. For once Trump's nothing-to-see-here-but-look-over-there! tactics are failing him. Reed Galen, president of The Union, a pro-democracy coalition, says: 'He's playing the hits at this point. He's typically been very effective at it. 'This just happens to be a different situation because it's so foundational to the movement's belief system. The whole point was that he was supposed to take down the deep state. This is an indication that he won't do it or never had any intention of doing it and that's really upsetting to them.' Meanwhile Trump has tried to downplay the scandal as 'pretty boring stuff' and by reaching for one of his favourite words: 'hoax'. Most tellingly, he has tried to dismiss Epstein as old news, complaining: 'Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy has been talked about for years.' Yet still he is caught in checkmate. The president, whose entire act is based around nostalgia (Alcatraz, coal, plastic straws, the Redskins), has never been shy of rewinding to old grievances over the 2016 and 2020 elections when politically expedient. Only now is he discovering that conspiracy theories grow and metastasize but they never die.

E! News cancelled after 34 Years
The nightly celebrity news programme E! News has been cancelled after 34 years on the air. Versant, the company that oversees E! and a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, is axing the show, which currently broadcasts at 11.30pm Eastern Time, with the final episode airing on 25 September. E! News is fronted by hosts Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester. The series, which launched in 1991, previously had a hiatus during the pandemic but returned in 2022 after a two-year break. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline report that employees learned of the cancellation on Thursday (24 July) morning, with a repeat episode airing that evening instead of an original episode. Around 20 people work on the E! News programme, with some understood to be offered other roles at the company and others expected to leave. New episodes will resume next week, with the network's other programmes, Access Hollywood and Access Daily, airing as usual. E! News will still exist as a digital brand and will instead focus on growth on its social platforms, which have seen impressive growth on Instagram and TikTok, Deadline reported earlier this year. E!, which currently has around 87M social media followers, puts out numerous digital programmes, including E! News The Rundown on Snapchat, Hot Goss on Instagram and RE!CAP on YouTube. The channel also airs shows including E!'s Dirty Rotten Scandals, Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, hosted by TV personality Kristin Cavallari. In the shake up, NBCUniversal has split itself in two, per The Hollywood Reporter. Peacock and Bravo will stay as key pieces of NBCU, while the rest (USA Network, Syfy, E!, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen and Golf Channel) will make up the new company Versant. The company's digital businesses Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes and Golf Now will also move to Versant. Long term E! News viewers were quick to react to the news online. 'Here's to the news channel I was raised on,' one person said on Instagram. 'What is going on?' asked another. 'Honestly that was my dream job growing up,' another fan added, with a fourth echoing: 'This was my ultimate dream platform to host on. The end of an era.'

Jennifer Lopez's Extremely High-Cut, Pantsless Look Is One of Her Most Daring Yet
The 'Hustlers' actress is midway through her "Up All Night" tour. Jennifer Lopez is celebrating her birthday in style with an extremely high-cut chrome bodysuit that dazzled on stage last night during a performance at Regnum The Crown, a luxury resort in Turkey. The Unstoppable actress turned 56 today and is currently in the middle of the "Up All Night" tour, which began on July 8 in Pontevedra, Spain and is slated to end on August 12 in Sardinia, Italy. Lopez's onesie was one of her most daring looks yet. The sculpted silver bodysuit was extremely high-cut and featured a plunging neckline that nearly reached her belly button. She paired the look with matching over-the-knee boots that were covered in hundreds of silver sequins. True to form, Lopez's other looks from the "Up All Night" tour have been similarly sexy. Last week, for example, she hit the stage in Bilbao, Spain wearing a leather onesie covered in silver grommets and chains. Over the top, she wore an inky black cropped leather jacket with dramatic shoulders and metallic studs. The "On The Floor" singer's other looks have so far included a silver-sequin bodysuit and gold fringe jacket, a plunging sequin bra, leather lace-up pants, and sequin-covered Yankees cap, and a glittery catsuit. Lopez has been hard at work on her music since her divorce from Ben Affleck was finalized this January. In May, she played host and performer at the American Music Awards in a total of eight outfits. "There's a lot of different options," she said prior to the AMAs. "I will change [my mind]. I'll be like, No, I don't like this hair. Let's just pull it back. Give me a ponytail. Where are my hoops? There's so many different ways to go, and I'm just going to pick whatever feels good in the moment." Following the ex-couple's split, the "Dance Again" singer apparently told comedian Tiffany Haddish that she was not seeking another relationship. "I told [Haddish],'Girl, I'm not looking for no man," Lopez said in an interview with Access Hollywood. "I'm happy right now, I'm not trying to ruin it, okay?" Read the original article on InStyle
