The Better Sister Season 2: Has Prime Video renewed the show? Here's what you can expect
The gripping narrative of The Better Sister , which recently concluded its run on Prime Video, has left viewers with more questions than answers—chief among them: Will there be a Season 2? Though the murder at the heart of the plot has been resolved, audiences are still eager to see what lies ahead for the central characters, particularly the complex relationship between sisters Chloe and Nicky. No Official Renewal Yet for The Better Sister Season 2 Despite the buzz, Amazon's Prime Video has not announced a renewal for The Better Sister Season 2. The psychological thriller, adapted from the standalone novel by bestselling author Alafair Burke, was originally billed as a limited series, indicating that it was conceived as a one-season narrative, as mentioned in a report by Decider. Given that the source material does not have a sequel, and considering Prime Video's tendency to cap some of its dramatic titles at a single installment, the likelihood of a continuation appears slim at this stage. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo However, given the streaming platform's growing appetite for returning series and the show's popularity, fans continue to hope for a creative expansion. Adam Henson supported by family as he makes heartbreaking farm admission
Countryfile star Adam Henson has opened up about the support he has from family and friends and how, over the years, he has faced some challenges while running the farm Adam Henson, known from BBC's Countryfile, has candidly spoken out about the hurdles he's encountered in both his professional and personal spheres. While not on screen, Adam is hard at work managing his family farm in the Cotswolds, a legacy started by his father Joe back in 1971. During an intimate chat with Reach PLC, Adam shared insight into the critical support provided by loved ones and friends, admitting that steering the farm has indeed presented numerous obstacles over time. Further delving into his private life, Adam disclosed the tough period following his wife Charlie's cancer diagnosis. Adam conveyed his natural optimism, saying: "My characteristics are that I am an upbeat person, and I have got an incredibly supportive family, wife and children and people around me.," reports Gloucestershire Live. Speaking of his professional dealings, he said: "And within the business, I have got a business partner who I was at Agricultural College with and he is one of my closest friends and what we do is surround ourselves with people that are excellent within their own role in the business. Whether that is a manager or a farm manager, and we work really closely with the team and we are all very honest and open with one another. "I have had some very difficult times in my life, both in business and personally. My wife was very ill a few years ago, my parents dying, and I lost a nephew." Sharing on how he's coped with these trials, he noted: "We have gone through foot and mouth challenges, Covid, and we have had some tough times, but I've never had poor mental health because I've had that fantastic support system around me." In an emotional disclosure, Adam and his wife previously opened up about the tremendous impact that the cancer diagnosis had on their lives. Back in 2021, the couple were confronted with the news they had been fearing when Charlie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Charlie confided to the Daily Mirror, expressing the shock they felt: "It was both barrels," as she recounted the moment a significant tumour was discovered on her pancreas. "We knew people who'd died of pancreatic cancer, and I absolutely felt this was going to be the end of my life." Adam shared his own turmoil: "I felt physically sick," while Charlie recalled the overwhelming confirmation of their worries, saying: "Our darkest fears were confirmed. Adam had to practically carry me down the corridor. My legs were like jelly." The couple sought help from one of the nation's top specialists, leading to Charlie being slated for a risky surgery, with the outcome hanging in the balance. On the day, Adam described the emotionally charged atmosphere: "There were a lot of tears and a lot of emotion in the room." The family then travelled to London for Charlie's painstaking procedure, during which she prepared for the worst by penning final letters to Adam, their kids, and her siblings. However, two years on from those heart-wrenching times, Charlie has made steps towards normality, working part-time and living in anticipation of her six-monthly scans. Countryfile is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

‘I ignored warnings and ordered €1 beer at Benidorm bar'
Journalist Adam Maidment felt like a "daylight robber" after ignoring warnings and ordering a €1 beer in Benidorm but the cut-price pint turned out to be far better than expected While researching his trip to Benidorm, journalist Adam Maidment came across cautionary advice urging tourists to steer clear of the famously cheap drinks. Many claimed these €1 offers at the popular Spanish resort were best avoided, describing them as subpar or suspiciously watered down. Benidorm, with its beachside bars, themed pubs and sprawling expat scene, is a well-oiled machine when it comes to luring in tourists. More than 830,000 British tourists visit Benidorm each year, with many attracted by the number of sports bars, Irish pubs, and other themed venues offering lucrative deals. However, many warn that the bargain booze may not be all it's cracked up to be. In one popular TikTok video, viewed more than 450,000 times, creator Frank the Stag Man bluntly told 227,000 followers: 'You get what you pay for', labelling the drinks 'absolute rubbish'. Still, not everyone heeded Frank's warning. Adam, though, a true professional, decided to fall at the first hurdle in the name of journalism. In an article penned for the Manchester Evening News, Adam wrote: 'I practically fell at the first hurdle and ignored all warnings after a very sunny afternoon stroll through Levante Beach, it's perhaps the very exact reason why these bars have beer at such a ridiculous price point in the first place.' Hoping to head into the Old Town, Adam spotted a venue advertising a too-tempting deal. 'I spotted the La Parada lounge bar, which offered both €1 beer and even €1 Pintxos dishes. Whilst not feeling brave enough to try my chances with the culinary options, I was prepared to give the very cheap beer a go - all in the name of journalism, of course.' The bar, located just up from the beachfront near Tiki Town Beach Club, was in a shaded spot and not too crowded. A scattering of locals were inside enjoying the calm. Adam said: 'The very lovely server was happy to take my order for a €1 beer and, not quite knowing what I had set myself in for, I contemplated what would be arriving at my table and whether it would be as watered down or ominous as social media had suggested it would be.' The beer arrived in minutes. 'The dinky little glass of beer was pretty much as expected: certainly not a pint, and perhaps not even a half (maybe more of a third). But it was a freshly-poured serving of Amstel, so it certainly wasn't the worst choice of beer.' Most importantly, it tasted fine. 'It was ice cold and it tasted normal - I didn't get the impression it was watered down.' And the price? Almost laughably low. Adam said: 'Most impressively, it was an absolute bargain of a drink for what was the equivalent of essentially just 84p - a price that nowhere in Manchester [or anywhere in the UK] would ever consider charging.' Curious how the economics worked, Adam asked the server why they bothered offering such a low price. Her response was basic marketing: 'It gets people in." Once through the door, people then order food and smoothies or become repeat customers. The bar's menu and signage promoted other items, like €3 hotdogs and €5 smoothies, far more than the beer, but perhaps what keeps the tills ringing. After sipping his drink in a relaxed atmosphere, Adam faced a very first world problem. He said: 'Then came the moral dilemma that has been playing in my mind ever since: how do you pay for an 84p beer without feeling like you've just committed daylight robbery?' He considered ghosting the bar with a euro left behind. He said: 'I considered leaving the euro on the table and just making a dash for it in order to avoid having to make any pleasantries, but that just felt rude.' He even thought about tipping. 'I also contemplated tipping an extra euro in order to lessen the guilt I felt, which I appreciate is the very epitome of a first-world problem.' In the end, instead of dashing, Adam used his cool logic to reason. He reflected: 'It was their offer, they chose to sell it, and they decided to promote it to get punters in - and it certainly worked, even if I didn't stay to branch out into €5 smoothie territory.' While he said he wouldn't recommend spending an entire day bouncing between €1 beer bars, he gave La Parada credit for being a calm and pleasant place to sit and sip. 'Whilst I definitely wouldn't want to spend a whole afternoon stocking up on €1 beers, my time at La Parada was good. It certainly wasn't one of the rowdier venues in the town; it was chilled and quiet, so I am sure there might be other popular options for people when it comes to going cheap on the beer.' But he added a word of caution. 'Of course, I cannot vouch for €1 beers at the other bars, and I'm sure there are some which warrant the level of caution.' Adam also rightly pointed out: 'It also goes without saying that it is always important to drink responsibly too, whether you are in Benidorm drinking €1 beer or not.'

Go for gold down under and explore Australia's stunning beaches on gorgeous coast
And don't forget to take in the iconic cityscapes too SURF'S UP Go for gold down under and explore Australia's stunning beaches on gorgeous coast "WOULDN'T it be nice if we were younger … and wouldn't it be nice to SURF together?" Well, kinda. Advertisement 15 The main beach at Byron Bay Credit: Getty 15 James and his son Adam get ready to hit the surf at Byron Bay I'm closing in on the big 5-0 so decided it was now or never if I was ever to become one of the Beach Boys. And where better in the world to make your surfing debut than on Australia's famous Gold Coast. If you've had a bash on the board yourself, you might know that 'wipeout' is surfing jargon for falling off. Well, I was a total wipeout. Point Break? I very quickly got to breaking point. Advertisement Still, what a laugh and my son Adam, 28, saved the family reputation by staying afloat long enough to catch a few waves. The spot for this amazing adventure was Byron Bay. We were Down Under visiting Adam and his girlfriend Karen in Brisbane but we just had to cross the Queensland border to check out New South Wales. 15 Basq House hotel;'s welcoming pool Advertisement 15 The rooms are classy and spacious After a quick jaunt down Highway 1 — the longest in the world at 9,000 miles and amazingly follows the entire coastline of Australia — we arrived at our base, the brilliant Basq House. The 32-room boutique hotel opened last autumn — a gorgeous little hideaway in the heart of Byron's village centre. Calm, sophisticated and with super-friendly staff we felt instantly at home, enjoying cocktails by the pool and, later, fizz in the library with inviting floor-to-ceiling bookcases. Advertisement SUNEXCL Zara and Mike Tindall put on loved-up display as they soak up the sunshine at Byron Bay on Australia holiday Talking of books, we received a gorgeous coffee table book detailing the history of Byron Bay as a welcome gift from the hotel. Flicking through we discovered the maiden voyage of TSS Wollongbar II arrived here from Glasgow on 11 January 1923. That journey took six weeks — fortunately we landed in Oz a little over 24hrs after jetting out from our home city. Byron Bay is the wellbeing capital of Australia and it's easy to see why — it oozes chill. Advertisement There is sunset and sunrise yoga sessions everywhere, surfers of course, and generally just a laid-back hippy vibe that I instantly fell in love with. You need to check out Cape Byron Lighthouse, sitting on Australia's most easterly point. It was so good we unintentionally visited twice in a day. 15 The top of headlands at Byron Bay with famous white lighthouse of the most eastern point of Australian continent Credit: Alamy First, we headed up at sunset but it was so wet and cloudy we couldn't see a thing so returned later that sunny afternoon and it was well worth the effort. Advertisement Sadly after that we had to pack our bags and 'wave' goodbye to Byron Bay and the surf. But the adventure didn't stop there — next stop was Sydney. Arriving late on a Friday we planned to do what every droopy-eyed tourist does and dump our bags at the hotel and head for the world famous Harbour Bridge and Opera House. But we instantly realised QT Hotel was no ordinary hotel. And, most importantly, a very generous mini bar. We could have chilled there all night but we were mad keen to take the 20-minute walk to the harbour. The Bridge and Opera House are two of the most famous and iconic spots in the world so we happily joined the throngs of tourists to take our selfies. 15 James and Rachel at the Opera House Advertisement 15 The famous Mr Wong restaurant is a Sydney icon After just two or three hundred snaps, we headed for another Sydney institution — Mr Wong's restaurant. That said, on flicking through the wine list I clocked a $185,000 bottle of red. Advertisement Unfortunately, it wasn't our wedding anniversary so we opted for a $75 bottle. The Singapore Noodles were top notch too. As we left they were shooting a music video on the narrow lane — 'that's Sydney for you' we were told. What a place! Next morning we were up bright and early but unfortunately it was pouring down so our sunset kayak under harbour bridge was cancelled. Apparently it rains for six months a year here — who knew? Then we took a boat over to Manly Bay — like Byron Bay famous for its surfing, relaxed atmosphere and coastal vibe. It's also the birthplace of the famous Budgy Smugglers — not that I was tempted to wear a pair. Next morning we savoured our last breakfast at the hotel's Parlour bistro — a little taste of Paris where the poached eggs and avocado are to die for. The Better Sister – Season 1 Episode 8 Recap, Review & Ending Explained
Episode 8 Episode 8 of The Better Sister begins with Nicky telling Chloe what happened the night Adam was murdered. Who kills Adam and why? Nicky checks in on Debbie, Adam's mother, from time to time, and is at her place when Ethan calls. He tells Nicky about the fight and is scared for Chloe. Nicky panics as he reveals that Adam has been hitting Chloe often. She gets ready to confront Adam and Debbie randomly comments how Adam and Chloe have left them, suggesting there is no love lost between mother and son. Nicky shows up at the beach house and threatens to expose Adam. She wants to talk to Chloe but a drunk Adam grabs her and tries to make her leave. She fights back and he chokes her. She has a pocket knife and she stabs him. After she leaves, Ethan arrives home. He finds Adam and thinks Chloe has killed him. He stages a break-in and is about to leave when Adam moves. But instead of calling for help, Ethan lets Adam die. Meanwhile, Nicky rushes back to Debbie's and cleans up. The pills she grabs are antibiotics for her injuries. And that's what she takes when the cops call her. How does Chloe handle Adam's murder case? Nicky worries that Nancy may put her in prison even though it was self-defence. Chloe promises to fix things and takes the knife. As for the gun, we learn that Nicky was going to cause a scene if Ethan had been found guilty. Later, Jake shows up and confides in Chloe about the Gentry investigation for illegal construction. They are in trouble from Gentry as well as Olivero, since they won't stop till they get what they want. And it is the dirt that Adam has on Gentry Group. Chloe reports Olivero for sexual harassment and physical abuse. She then looks around and finds the Gentry files. There is also a recording in which Bill orders Adam to extort Gentry. She makes a copy and sends it to Matt. She then gives the originals to Bill as a peace offering. While he is distracted, she hides Nicky's knife, the murder weapon, in Bill's study. After she leaves, Matt gets a search warrant and finds the knife. He arrests Bill for corruption and suspicion of murdering Adam. Why is Nancy unable to catch Nicky? Nancy looks into Debbie who has a criminal record for fraud using Adam's social security number. They are estranged as Adam didn't like his parents' wayward lifestyle. The cop visits her and tries to trace Nicky's whereabouts. Debbie reveals that Nicky forgot her phone when she stepped out for a while on the day Adam died. When she returned, she told Debbie that Ethan had been stabbed. Once she realises that Nancy suspects Nicky, she shuts down. It is enough for Nancy to deduce that Nicky used her phone's location as her alibi. Nancy texts forensics to check Nicky's DNA against Adam's clothes. Unfortunately for her, McCabe finds out that Nancy beat up Eddy. However, Eddy isn't the trafficker. She beat up the wrong, innocent Black guy. Nicky gives the proof to Catherine who publicizes it. The Lieutenant is forced to take Nancy off the case and put her on leave. Her request to forensics gets cancelled. He also points out that Debbie's testimony is hearsay from a grieving mother and Bill is the primary suspect. What's the deal with Gentry Group? Bill fires Jake to appease Gentry Group as he is the only other known FBI mole. Bill tells them that they have a mole too, who confirmed that Adam was working with the FBI. However, Bill looks out for Chloe and insists that he will take care of her. Jake goes to Chloe and we learn that Gentry built a stadium with indentured labour. The construction also involved violations of human rights and regulations. Adam felt guilty and went to the FBI. After he was killed, Agent Olivero blackmailed Jake into helping him. At the end of The Better Sister Episode 8, Jake is found dead, presumably killed by Gentry for being the mole. How does it end for the Macintoshes? Ethan is upset with Chloe for picking Adam over Nicky. Nicky defends her and claims Chloe only had Ethan's best interests at heart. Later, he confesses that he feels like the bad guy for letting Adam die. Nicky comforts him and he hopes to go with her if she leaves New York. When Nicky visits Catherine to take down Nancy, the editor asks her about the book deal which is pretty much confirmed. Nicky confronts Chloe who reveals she forgot to tell her because of the killer plot twist. However, Nicky doesn't care about the book deal and only wants to focus on her family. She asks where Chloe's loyalties lie and Chloe insists that it is with her and Ethan. Nicky believes her as she learns that Chloe framed Bill for Adam's murder. That night, Nicky and Chloe smoke by the beach. Chloe shares that the only stories worth telling are with her. Nicky agrees to the book deal. The Episode Review The Better Sister Episode 8 gets a little messy while trying to wrap up the Gentry storyline. They are never actually shown, so the threat involving them doesn't feel as real. And in turn, Bill ends up as a caricature of the magnanimous boss with a dark secret. Jake's death feels anticlimactic as well and we doubt his whining to Chloe brought about any emotions from viewers. Matt is yet another character who is underutilised and just around to crack some jokes, get made fun of, chase dead ends and finally catch a break courtesy of the way cleverer heroine who does his job for him. Catherine is another wasted character who acts shady but doesn't amount to much. She is just a spokesperson, first for the board and then for Nicky. Thankfully, the finale does justice to Chloe, Nicky and Ethan who honestly deserved a larger role in the story. His conflicting emotions involving his toxic parents can be quite relatable to many. Chloe uses her manipulative side for good and tricks Bill into taking the fall for Adam's murder. Sure, one tip from Nancy can have Matt confirming that Nicky is Adam's killer but the show doesn't seem to care about this huge plot hole. Nicky's sincerity is sealed, even though it feels fake at times given we personally don't think Chloe deserves it. With so many shady characters, Nicky stands out like a fish out of water as she genuinely cares for her sister. She goes as far as to confront Adam and tries tell Chloe that her husband hits her because he is…abusive? Thank you, Captain Obvious. Honestly, don't look too deep because the logic in this show is as flawed and flimsy as they come. Although we can appreciate the irony that while everyone thinks Chloe is the better sister, it is Nicky who deserves that mantle. All in all, this Amazon Prime Original is far from perfect, but Banks and Biels keep us hooked with their portrayal of two messy sisters struggling to stay afloat.
