Holly Ramsay has revealed which famous face inspired her wedding dress style ahead of her nuptials to Olympic swimmer fiancé Adam Peaty. Holly, 25, and Adam, 30, announced their engagement in September last year after dating for three years. And plans for her winter wedding are well and truly underway with the influencer having already selected her gown for the big day. Speaking to MailOnline at the Sport Industry Awards she said of her dress: 'I'm very excited. I'll not say whether it's traditional or not, because I don't want to give anything away.' But she did add: 'I've always been a huge fan of Kate Middleton 's wedding dress, and the lace, and how traditional it is, so I took a lot of inspiration from her.' She also told how all her family are so excited for the nuptials, writing: 'Everyone has wedding fever! We're all very excited, and the countdown in on. 'There's just something so English about getting married in the winter. I love summer, but winter is my favourite time of the year. 'I want the Christmas magic feeling of everyone coming together, to celebrate and have a great time.' Her chef father is also overseeing the food on her big day. It comes after Holly and Adam announced their engagement last year with a slew of sweet Instagram snaps from their holiday in Mallorca. Influencer Holly was the first to share the news as she posted a series of sweet snaps together and wrote: 'I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.' 'You have been with me when I've been at my lowest and helped me understand myself to navigate my own darkness.' 'You have also celebrated the highs which have been so many, as for the first time in my life, I'm happy with the man I've become. You came to church with me and joined the incredible community we have there without a question.' Adam continued: 'Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. 'Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day. I'm looking forward to our life together and the many challenges we'll face.' 'I promise to always love you with all my heart.' 'Matthew 19:6 'So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.''

'Don't give up' - why Peaty was convinced to go again
Adam Peaty was not immediately convinced he would return to competitive swimming after his emotional, gut-wrenching week at the Paris Olympics last summer.A landmark change to the sport's schedule - one that significantly boosts the 30-year-old's chance of further success going forward - was not all that was needed to seal the deal."If I retired post-Paris on something I deeply wasn't happy with - what message does that send to my children?," Peaty tells BBC Sport. "I want them to not give up when it does get tough. I want them to dig down, dig deep and find another way through that problem." The problem to which Peaty refers was his quest for a third consecutive Olympic 100m breaststroke gold last July. He had to settle for silver by an agonising 0.02 seconds, having contracted Covid-19 earlier in the week. He was in tears afterwards and again soon after when holding his three-year-old son, George."I got ill on the day you are most healthy," says Peaty, who also won relay gold in Tokyo in 2021."I have got to laugh about it because it is one of those incredibly painful moments but I don't see it is one of those things I am always going to look back on and say 'what a horrible moment'. "It has taught me so much about myself, about my future and where I want to apply that experience to my potential next Olympic Games. "It is just life. It will be tough sometimes and will be easy sometimes too."Peaty's first two Olympic golds - in Rio de Janeiro and then Tokyo - came during his period of dominance. The third individual medal, not quite the colour he wanted, followed his time out of the sport after issues with alcohol and his mental then Peaty's long-time coach Mel Marshall has left for a job in Australia, leading plenty to believe he would walk away from the sport, but the Englishman committed to another Olympic cycle last week after the 50m breaststroke races were added to the schedule for the Los Angeles Games in 2028."I watched the press conference and thought 'this is going to change the sport for everyone'," Peaty says."Swimming is one of those sports where it is incredibly demanding. "You are doing 4,000 to 5,000m in the morning, doing a whole day of work or school then 4,000m at night. "Sprinting is a little bit different because you don't have to commit to the metres as much."You still have to put the time in, it is going to be difficult like anything, but it is going to give longevity to those athletes that have been doing that for a long time, are getting tired of the sport and can train a bit differently."The British swimming championships began on Tuesday but Peaty will not defend his title. He is making a careful return to the sport after a break post-Paris with LA the ultimate goal, by which time his son will be eight."He is going to fully appreciate what it is like to be at an Olympic Games," Peaty says. "That is the journey we are on. "It is no longer a selfless decision it is a family and broader decision."I race fastest when I am happiest. You have got to get results, most of the time you will not be happy but at least there is a balance there. "That is something I learned from my previous cycle into Paris."

(Photo by Etienne LAURENT / AFP) (Photo by ETIENNE LAURENT/AFP via Getty Images) World Aquatics has announced that the 50s of stroke events will be added to the swimming program at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, sparking excitement and conversation within the swimming community. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board has approved the addition of the men's and women's 50 backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly—six events in total. This expansion will come exactly 40 years after the 50 freestyle was first included in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. In total, the 2028 program will consist of 41 events, highlighting how far the sport has come since its debut at the 1896 Olympic Games in Greece, where only four events were held. Women made their official Olympic swimming debut at the 1912 Stockholm Games, with just two events—the 100 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay. In 2028, there will be seventeen individual men's events, seventeen individual women's events, three men's relays, three women's relays and one mixed relay. And of course, the location of swimming events has changed as well, with the 2028 Olympics set to take place inside SoFi Stadium, which will make it the largest swimming venue in Olympic history. (Photo by Qian Weizhong/VCG via Getty Images) While new to the Olympic stage, the 50s of stroke have been part of major international meets like the World Championships, which has included the 50s since 2001. Some swimmers have already found success across all three distances of a stroke. Regan Smith, for instance, won the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke recently at the 2024 Short Course World Championships in Budapest. Change is nothing new for the sport of swimming; it's always evolving. The 2020 Tokyo Games introduced new events to the swimming program, including the mixed 400 medley relay, women's 1500m freestyle and men's 800m freestyle. The addition of the 50s has sparked excitement among Olympians. TOKYO, JAPAN - JULY 26: Adam Peaty of Team Great Britain celebrates after winning the gold medal in ... (Photo by) The addition of the 50s of stroke to the 2028 Games has thrilled some Olympians—and even played a role in one swimmer's decision to train for another Games. Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty of Great Britain confirmed he will continue training for 2028, with the 50 breaststroke being part of what influenced his decision. Peaty, 30, is a breaststroke specialist and holds the world records in both the 50 (25.95) and 100 (56.88) breaststroke. Peaty isn't the only Olympic gold medalist to express approval on social media. Others, including Chad le Clos of South Africa, Sarah Sjöström of Sweden and Michael Andrew of the U.S., have also shown their support on Instagram. With this change, experienced swimmers may have a better chance of extending their careers, as the 50s are less physically demanding due to the shorter distance. How will this affect roster caps? For the 2024 Paris Olympics, there was a 26-swimmer cap for each gender. What will the qualifying times be? How will this impact Olympic scheduling? How else will it affect the sport across different levels and competitions? The swimming community will have to wait and see. However, it's certain that this change will influence how some swimmers train as they prepare for the 2028 Games. For U.S. swimmers, it could present both new challenges and opportunities. Currently, no U.S. swimmer holds a world record in an LCM 50 of any stroke, though the U.S. has shown strong performances in the 50-meter races at other major competitions.
