Kuwait envoy in India presents papers to Nepal head

NEW DELHI, May 1: Kuwaiti Ambassador to India Mishal Al-Shamali presented on Wednesday his credentials to Nepalese President Ram Chandra Paudel as non-resident ambassador to Nepal. Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi told KUNA that Ambassador Al-Shamali conveyed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and their sincere wishes for his health and well-being, and for continued prosperity and progress for his country. Al-Shamali expressed Kuwait's joy in maintaining a strong relationship with Nepal and its desire to further develop and strengthen the ties to achieve the aspirations of the leadership and people of both countries. During the credential presentation ceremony, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen cooperation across various sectors were discussed, with the Kuwaiti ambassador expressing his happiness in the trust bestowed upon him for representing the State of Kuwait in Nepal. On his part, the Nepalese President conveyed his best regards to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and His Highness the Crown Prince and expressed satisfaction in maintaining strong relations between Kuwait and Nepal. He also praised the Kuwaiti government's care for Nepalese residents in Kuwait and its efforts to facilitate their living conditions. He expressed keenness to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries to serve common interests. The credential presentation ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace in Kathmandu, was attended by senior leaders and officials from the Nepalese government. (KUNA)

NEW DELHI, India, Feb 13: Kuwaiti Ambassador to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shamali, met with Raj Kumar Srivastava, the Dean of the Indian Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service, in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss strengthening the cooperation between the Kuwaiti Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute and the Indian Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the meeting, Ambassador Al-Shamali explained that the discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between the two diplomatic institutions. The goal is to exchange best practices in training and education for diplomats, as well as to promote the participation of both institutes in the activities and programs they organize. Al-Shamali also highlighted the participation of a Kuwaiti diplomatic delegation in a training course at the Indian Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute, which is scheduled for later this month. He added that arrangements for the course were also discussed during the meeting. The cooperation between the two institutes began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023. The MoU aimed to foster diplomatic knowledge exchange and support the organization of specialized programs, courses, and academic activities. During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kuwait in December 2024, both countries agreed to establish a special training course for Kuwaiti diplomats at the Sushma Swaraj Diplomatic Institute in New Delhi. Ambassador Al-Shamali expressed confidence that these continued efforts would further enhance the relationship between the two nations, particularly in the field of diplomacy.

Kuwait had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to join the International Solar Alliance during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kuwait in December. Ambassador Al-Shamali emphasized that Kuwait's membership in the ISA marks an important milestone in the country's efforts to develop sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions. His remarks were made in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his attendance at the military parade and reception hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of the 76th Indian Republic Day, also known as "Constitution Day." Al-Shamali highlighted that the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kuwait last December "laid a new foundation for enhancing political, trade, economic, defense, and cultural relations between the two friendly countries," taking their ties beyond a bilateral level and moving toward a more comprehensive and strategic partnership.
