Al-Mudhaibi: The completion rate of the water network project in Wadi Andam villages in Al Mudhaibi, North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, implemented by Nama Water Services, has exceeded 93%, with a total cost of RO 3,668,000. Eng. Awad Khamis Al Shibli, Project Manager at Nama Water Services, stated that the Wadi Andam water network project includes expanding the existing Khadra Bani Dafaa pumping station in Al-Habat village and constructing three new fiberglass tanks, each with a capacity of 90 cubic meters. Additionally, two booster pumping stations will be built in Al-Washal and Al-Fulaij villages, along with water connections for nine villages in Wadi Andam, he added. He told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the pipeline extension for the two-year project spans about 102 kilometers. Excavation work has been completed for approximately 101 kilometers, with pipes laid over 99.35 kilometers, alongside backfilling operations. The entire project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the second phase of the drinking water distribution network project continues in the wilayat, costing RO 15,132,000, with completion expected by 2027. This phase includes a 40 km transmission pipeline, a 217 km distribution network, 4,065 household connections, a pumping station, and an elevated tank. It is worth noting that Nama Water Services is preparing to launch a water network project in the wilayat of Damaa and Al-Ta'eeen. The 36-month project will include a 77.85 km water transmission pipeline between Al-Jarda in Al-Mudhaibi and Mahlah in Damaa and Al-Ta'eeen, along with seven distribution tanks with storage capacities ranging between 3,000 and 10,000 cubic meters, in addition to two pumping stations in Al-Jarda and Al-Rahba areas.

Ibra: A student community initiative titled 'The Palm Tree: A Heritage Throughout History' was organised on Saturday in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The initiative was implemented by the Citizenship Department of the Ministry of Education, with the participation of more than 50 male and female students from the summer programme in Al Suwairij village in Samad Ash-Shan. Subha bint Sulaiman Al Hemaili, Senior Educational Researcher at the Citizenship Department of the Ministry of Education, explained that the initiative stems from the importance of the palm trees in Omani society and aims to preserve its history. It aims to educate students about its significance, components, and the source of livelihood it has been for Omanis throughout the ages. She noted that the initiative promotes the values of citizenship and preserves the authentic Omani tradition in dealing with the palm tree and its exploitation in all its stages. She stressed that the initiative highlights the components of the palm tree and the importance of each one, introduces the historical heritage of the palm tree throughout history, and introduces participants to its types and varieties, the most prominent industries emerging from it, and its economic importance. It also highlights the initiative's role in promoting the need to preserve the palm tree and pursue professions associated with it, considering it an integral part of the national identity and culture of Omani society. The initiative also included an introduction to ancient irrigation systems such as the aflaj, methods of dividing water among farmers, methods of selling aflaj shares, and traditional irrigation times based on knowing the times in the past by the stars, or what is known as "sawar."

Oman: Al Mudhaibi Industrial City attracts $14.8mln in new investments

Muscat – Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, operated by Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, signed two investment agreements on Wednesday for the establishment of six new factories. The deals are valued at RO5.75mn and will cover more than 21,000sqm. The signing took place in the presence of Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dhuhli, Governor of North Sharqiyah, and Dawood bin Salim al Hadabi, CEO of Madayn, alongside officials from both public and private sector entities. The first agreement, signed with Global Prime Matter SPC, involves setting up four factories producing electrical materials, electronics, home furniture and cold storage supplies. The total investment for this project is RO5mn with operations to be based on a 14,538sqm plot. The second agreement, signed with Middle East Livestock Company, includes an automated poultry slaughterhouse and a disinfectants production factory. This project spread over 7,000sqm will see investment of over RO750,000. Said bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, said the city attracted five industrial projects in the last quarter of 2024, worth a combined RO5.8mn. These agreements followed an investment call in October 2024 raising total investment in the city to RO11.6mn across 75,000sqm. He added that the tender for Phase 1 development of the city is expected to be awarded early next quarter. This phase will include infrastructure works such as internal roads, perimeter fencing, gate facilities, construction of offices and facility buildings, and utility networks for electricity, water, sewage and Internet. It will include plans for Madayn's Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Complexes. Al Mudhaibi Industrial City spans 9mn sqm, with Phase 1 covering around 1.5mn sqm. Strategically located near the main highway linking Special Economic Zone at Duqm with key ports and border points, the city is part of a national strategy to drive economic growth in North Sharqiyah. Al Mudhaibi,: Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, an affiliate of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), signed two investment agreements to localise six factories with a total investment of OMR5.75 million, covering an area of more than 21,000 sqm. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Mahmoud Yahya Al Dhuhli, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah and Eng. Dawood Salim Al Hadabi, CEO of Madayn, alongside several officials from the public and private sectors. The first agreement, signed with Global Prime Matter SPC, incorporates establishment of four factories specialising in electrical materials, electronics, home furniture, and cold storage supplies, with an investment of OMR5 million on a 14,538 sqm area. The second agreement, with Middle East Livestock Company, involves setting up an automated poultry slaughterhouse and a disinfectants factory, with an investment exceeding OMR750,000 over an area of more than 7,000 sqm. Eng. Said Khalfan Al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, stated that a total of five industrial projects were successfully localised in the last quarter of 2024, with a total investment of OMR5.8 million. This follows the official announcement in October last year inviting investment applications in Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, bringing the total investment in the city to date to approximately OMR11.6 million on an area of 75,000 sqm. He further noted that the tender for implementing Phase 1 of Al Mudhaibi Industrial city is expected to be awarded early next quarter. The scope includes the construction of internal roads, utility networks (electricity, water, internet, and sewage), fencing and main gates, a facility building, offices, and Madayn's Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Complexes. Al Mudhaibi Industrial City is one of the latest cities being developed by Madayn, extending over 9 million sqm, with Phase 1 covering about 1.5 million sqm. The city enjoys a strategic location near the main highway connecting the Special Economic Zone at Duqm with the Sultanate of Oman's key ports and border crossings. The city is a key component of the national strategic projects in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate and aligns with Madayn Vision 2040 in establishing world-class business cities in partnership with the private sector and in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
