Fans are convinced James Gunn just revealed 'perfect' next Batman actor
James Gunn has finally addressed a casting rumour for the role Batman in the DCU, and it has left fans ecstatic. Throughout the years, viewers have been treated to a vast array of Bruce Wayne's, from Christian Bale to Robert Pattinson. In Matt Reeves' latest take on the crime fighting saviour, Pattinson opted for a slimmed down Batman. However, now, following the release of Gunn's Superman starring David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult, fans could be in store for an extremely muscular Batman in Reacher star Alan Ritchson. Talking to Josh Horowitz on theHappy Sad Confused podcast, Gunn discussed the potential casting for some of the other characters in the DCU. He said: 'I am a big Alan Ritchson fan. Both as an actor and as a guy. Let's just wait to see what happens.' Commenting on X, @GoodGamers said: 'All my dreams would come true in an instant if he plays Batman.' @Wutangflan23 added: 'Out of anyone that played batman Alan Ritchson has the frame to play Batman more than anyone has.' @BitsOfJT also said: 'There is no one I want more to play Batman than Ritchson. Hamilton police warn of movie shoot with fake guns, explosions
Hamilton police are giving the community a heads-up about an upcoming film shoot that may cause some concern — but shouldn't warrant any 911 calls. On social media, police noted that film crews will be working on a production in the city's North End, as well as the area of Green Mountain Road and Upper Centennial Parkway from July 20 to 25. Residents can expect to see low-flying helicopters, mock explosions and actors with fake guns, said police. 'This is a controlled, permitted shoot,' read the post. 'Not an emergency.' It's unclear what production the shoot is connected to, but the show 'Reacher' has been filming scenes for its fourth season in Hamilton in recent weeks. The Amazon Prime show, which stars Alan Ritchson as troubleshooter Jack Reacher, was the most-watched show on the streaming service when its third season dropped last year. Error! Jay Baruchel drops out of 'Reacher' season 4, role recast with 'Barry' alum Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette
There's been a major behind-the-scenes shakeup on Reacher. Entertainment Weekly can confirm that Jay Baruchel dropped out of the upcoming season 4, and Barry alum Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has been recast in the role. The news comes only two weeks after the This Is the End star's casting was announced along with the rest of the new season 4 roles (the only confirmed returning actor is series lead Alan Ritchson). According to Deadline, Baruchel was "forced to exit the series to attend to a personal matter." Rodriguez-Marquette will now play the major role of Jacob Merrick, a small-town policeman ripped directly from the pages of Lee Child's 13th book in his Jack Reacher series, Gone Tomorrow, upon which the new season is based. Jacob becomes Jack Reacher's (Ritchson) No. 1 ally in his new mission. Gone Tomorrow kicks off when Reacher witnesses a suicide on the subway in New York. He soon discovers the woman who killed herself was Pentagon staffer Susan Mark, who was caught up in a larger conspiracy involving a corrupt politician, Al Qaeda terrorists, and countless murders. Reacher must work against the clock with Susan's brother Jacob to solve the mystery of why Susan killed herself, find her missing son Peter, and ultimately save his own life when he gets caught up with dark forces with almost unlimited power. Rodriguez-Marquette joins the previously announced season 4 cast additions including GLOW alum Sydelle Noel, My Life With the Walter Boys star Marc Blucas, Alias alum Kevin Weisman, Indonesian singers Agnez Mo and Anggun, The Expanse alum Kathleen Robertson, and Poker Face's Kevin known for his recurring role on HBO's Barry, Rodriguez-Marquette's other TV appearances include Mozart in the Jungle, Joan of Arcadia, Even Stevens, Weeds, Lucifer, and Beverly Hills, 90210, among others.
