Defender Iacovitti leaves St Mirren
Defender Alex Iacovitti has left St Mirren by mutual consent in pursuit of more playing time. The 27-year-old joined the Buddies last summer from Port Vale on a two-year being dogged by injuries, Iacovitti made 23 appearances and scored three times for Stephen Robinson's side, including goals in Conference League qualifiers against Valur and SK Brann. "Alex was very unfortunate as he had numerous injuries last season which made his season really stop-start," manager Robinson said."We won't forget his goal away to Brann and the joy that brought to so many people. But Alex is at an age where he needs to play football and we didn't want to stand in his way."
