Woman reveals $3 Temu product solves common winter car problem

A woman has raved about a $3 product from Temu that solves a common car issue, calling it the 'best money she has ever spent'. Nicole took to TikTok to share a clip of her bargain purchase from the online marketplace – a tiny squeegee for her car side mirrors. In the video, she shows her frosted-over side mirrors from the driver's seat, extending the $3 device and quickly clearing the mirror so that she has complete visibility. 'Best $3 I've ever spent,' she declares. Other social media users were equally impressed with the handy little device. 'This is revolutionary,' one social media user commented. Another said: 'OMG I need to get one of these.' 'I got one of these. Best thing ever,' another happy customer declared. Fellow social media user Alexandra posted a very similar clip raving about the gadget. This time, the video featured the popular song Car Wash playing while she cleared the side mirrors. 'If you haven't got one, you need one,' she said. Kmart also stocks a car side mirror squeegee, which sets back customers $5, and Amazon also stocks similar products. It's not the first time a cheaper item has been used to solve a routine car problem, with a woman keeping a $2 pair of tongs from Kmart in her car. The social media user, who goes by @ on TikTok, said whenever someone new jumps in her car they ask about the Kmart item. 'Great question, I have an even better answer,' the young woman explained, saying she wasn't the best driver. 'But you know when you come up to those boom gates at the car park and they've got a little ticket machine? 'I can never get close enough so I just whip out my handy dandy tongs.' The driver explained she uses the tongs to grab the ticket with ease, revealing that if there is someone behind her waiting she always checks the review mirror and catches them laughing. The driver said she'd rather be the 'weirdo with the tongs who is low-key kinda smart' than the person struggling to get a ticket who holds up the line behind her. Social media users had a strong reaction to the hilarious hack. 'I always have to put my car in park, take off my belt and lean out the window or open the door,' one person complained.

F1 driver's girlfriend steals the show in stunning old-Hollywood gown with sheer detailing

The world of Formula 1 is no stranger to glitz and glamour. When they're away from the track, the sports stars are often found suited and booted at high-profile events across the globe. That was certainly the case for Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, who attended Le Gala de la Croix Rouge, known as the Monaco Red Cross Gala, hosted by the Monegasque royal family on Saturday. But it was his girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, who really turned heads that evening. The 23-year-old art-history graduate paid homage to one of Hollywood's most famous starlets - and one with a fitting Monegasque connection. Alexandra looked stunning in a floaty, two-toned blue gown inspired by Grace Kelly in the 1955 blockbuster To Catch a Thief. She complemented the showstopping dress with minimal jewellery, fresh, glowy makeup and a sleek updo. Alexandra worked with French fashion designer Antione Guerin to create the custom gown. "Thank you @ for bringing my idea to life in your own beautiful way," she wrote on her Instagram. Antoine's Instagram shows the designer painstakingly creating the details of the gown, crafting the wrapped design of the bodice by hand and forming an intricate rosette. Alexandra's friends flocked to the comments section to express their admiration. Rebecca Donaldson, who, aside from being a Scottish model and girlfriend of Williams Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., is a close friend of Alexandra's, called the dress "dreamy", while George Russell's girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt wrote: "So stunning!!!!!". Her fans also adored the outfit, with many calling Alexandra a "princess", which tied in perfectly with Alexandra's inspiration, Grace Kelly. Already a Hollywood queen for her starring roles in films like The Country Girl and Rear Window, American actress Grace Kelly became real royalty when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956. She was known for her elegance and glamour, as well as her support her emerging performance artists through the Princess Grace Foundation. Alexandra and Charles began dating in 2023, and she has since developed a reputation for her beauty. She is a regular guest at fashion shows and brand events, and is an ambassador for Hailey Bieber's beauty brand, Rhode. Alexandra is often spotted at race weekends supporting her racing star boyfriend, and fans are always on the lookout for her next paddock showstopper.

Goalkeep efforts help seal 5-1 win for Cromwell

Alexandra and Cromwell players get ready for the first face-off in the second round of the Battle of the Gorge in Alexandra on Friday. PHOTO: ELLA JENKINS The crowd at Alexandra's IceInline was treated to a master class in goalkeeping as Cromwell beat the Alexandra Flames 5-1 in the second round of the second annual Battle of the Gorge on Friday. It was thanks to the efforts of Cromwell goalkeeper Travis Roberts that the Alexandra team were kept to one goal. Alexandra took the first game on May 25, beating Cromwell 9-4. Cromwell began the game strongly, with plenty of pressure on the Flames. Alexandra responded with chances of their own, but despite good scoring opportunities by both sides the first period ended scoreless. The scoreless game did not last long, however, as Cromwell scored 20 seconds into the second period. Alexandra responded with a goal of their own with 11 minutes left in the period. Cromwell once again pulled ahead, scoring three goals within eight minutes. Roberts stood firm, denying Alexandra the opportunity to stay in the game. Three minutes into the third period Cromwell scored their fifth goal of the game. Despite increased pressure, the Flames were unable to get past Roberts. Flames captain Matthew Elliot said all the Cromwell team played well and they had a good goalie in net. "Full credit to Cromwell — they played well" Heading into the decider match, the Flames needed to work out how to get pucks past Roberts and to improve their teamwork, Elliot said. Elliot said the series had been great so far, and the crowd at the game was one of the best he had seen. The date of the decider match is to be determined. The Battle of the Gorge was first played last year, Cromwell winning the Champagne Gully Cup and bragging rights.

Tebogo Thobejane launches GBV foundation and reveals emotional struggle - ‘I'm not safe'

South Africans have endured a week of explosive headlines and shocking revelations. Leading the news is Vusumuzi 'Cat' Matlala, an alleged crime kingpin accused of trying to murder his ex-girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane. He's also alleged to have corrupt relationships with government officials. These allegations have rocked the entire nation. On Friday, July 11, 2025, Matlala and his co-accused appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court to face more charges in his case that's been postponed to August. In a candid interview with Drum, Tebogo Thobejane revealed how the incident has devastated her mental health. Despite Matlala being behind bars, she admitted she still doesn't feel safe. The attack occurred while she and a friend were driving on the N1 highway near Sandton, Johannesburg. Their car was riddled with bullets, leaving Thobejane shot in the foot and her friend with a serious spinal cord injury. Thobejane says she's not the same person she was before the incident. She can barely recognise her own emotions anymore and often feels numb. Without any support system in place, she's struggling to cope with the trauma alone. 'I don't know how I'm feeling honestly, and there's still no one supporting me, not even the government and what's annoying me at this point is that I've seen all these men protecting themselves but have no time to check in with us, the victims, as to how we're doing, and the sad part is that we can't even go into witness protection because the police are involved,' she said. She recently launched her Bothlale Foundation (meaning 'wisdom'), a foundation dedicated to helping GBV survivors and victims. Her inspiration for this work stems from her desire to support others who have endured similar experiences. 'I've had a hard life, and they've tried to silence me.' When asked about her case against ex-partner Vusi Matlala, she declined to share details, citing ongoing court proceedings. What she did make clear: she is proud of standing up for herself. 'I can't engage on that because of the ongoing court case, but all I can say is that I stood my ground and everyone saw that this guy is crazy,' she said. 'She was sitting next to me in the car when they shot my car, and the bullets went to her. That girl saved my life, and, sadly, hers got completely ruined.' Asked about her optimism in justice prevailing in her case, Tebogo sounded confident that the law will take its course and that she will get the justice she deserves with her case. However, she can't shake away the feeling that her case is being used as a pawn for what Lt-General Mkhwanazi exposed about her ex-partner and his affiliations with the SAPS officials. 'I know justice will prevail, but at the same time, there's a bigger picture here, and I think I'm being used as a mockery. I just feel like people are running a mockery, and it's deeper than me. He's in much bigger trouble, but my case is the one that got him arrested, and then they found out about everything else that's just been revealed, which I don't know anything about,' she says. Tebogo shared that due to the incident, her mental well-being isn't in a good place and that despite the perpetrator's incarceration, she still doesn't feel safe at all. 'My mental health isn't well, I'm not safe, the government is not protecting me, nobody cares about me, and every single day I pay for private security, but what gets me is that everybody, that is the cops, they're protected but not us,' she iterated. Read more | Murder-accused Vusumuzi 'Cat' Matlala found in possession of a cell phone during a prison raid Thobejane believes that there's more that SAPS could do to protect her. 'They say their protocols don't allow that, so I need to have private security. They're busy fighting amongst themselves, not concerned about the victims lingering in the background.' Thobejane says that all the misconceptions people have about her are not true. 'People say that I'm doing and selling drugs, and that I'm dodgy, which is not the case. We got shot at, and people need to focus on that,' she tells Drum. Tebogo concluded by sharing a message to people who are in abusive relationships, saying that her foundation (Bothlale Foundation) is a safe space they can go to, as it's all about empowering each other. 'Nothing's linear, as you can't tell someone what to and not to do, and this is why I started the foundation, it's a space people can run to without judgment.'
