KP govt, cement industry agree to increase cement royalty
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and cement industry have agreed on increasing cement royalty per ton from Rs 250 to Rs 350. They have further agreed to implement a 10% increase in royalty for the first two years, followed by a 7.5% increase over the next three years. Both parties agreed during a meeting of the cement manufacturers with the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in Islamabad on Thursday. The meeting focused on issues facing the cement industry, their potential solutions, and the promotion of the cement sector in the province. Speaking on the occasion, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has emphasised that the development of the industrial sector is essential for eliminating unemployment in the province. He said that the provincial government is extending all possible facilities and support to investors in this regard. The provincial government has established its own mining company with the purpose to ensure the efficient management and exploration of mineral resources,' he said. He added that efforts are also underway to introduce modern machinery, technologies, and methodologies in the mining sector to minimize wastage of precious mineral resources. This is an effective management of minerals, through which the provincial government is increasing its revenue—an essential step toward making the province financially strong and self-sustaining, he remarked. The chief minister assured the delegation of full government support for promoting cement industry in the province. He also invited the delegation to invest in the value addition of minerals such as gypsum, placer gold, and other mineral products within the province. He highlighted the significant potential for gypsum and other important minerals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which needs to be explored. The government, he said is actively taking steps to encourage value addition of mineral products within the province and will provide all possible incentives and support to investors in this sector. He invited the delegation to invest in the development of the provincial power transmission line. He stated that electricity generated from local power plants will be provided to industries at subsidized rates through the provincial transmission line—an initiative critical for industrial growth and unemployment reduction in the province. The delegates on the occasion, welcomed the Chief Minister's invitation to invest in mining and transmission line projects and expressed keen interest in further investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 10 health officials face dismissal over graft
An inquiry into alleged irregularities in the procurement of medicines during the caretaker government's tenure in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Health Department has been completed. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has issued show-cause notices to 10 senior officials under the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2011, accusing them of incompetence, mismanagement, and corruption. Each of the accused officials faces dismissal from service and recovery of over Rs170 million individually. According to the official notice, the investigation against these officials — including a former Director General of Health Services, an Additional Director General, a former Director of Public Health.

Indian aggression: Gandapur felicitates nation for befitting response
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, while addressing a jirga in Peshawar, extended felicitations to the entire nation for a befitting response to Indian aggression and said that founding chairman PTI Imran Khan, despite being unjustly imprisoned, united the entire nation against Indian hostilities—proving himself a true leader. Expressing his gratitude to Imran Khan and his supporters, Ali Amin Gandapur said their unwavering stand was instrumental in defending Pakistan. 'We have demonstrated national unity above political differences for the sake of the country's sovereignty and integrity,' he said. The Chief Minister also called on the federal government to avoid imposing taxes on the erstwhile FATA and PATA regions, arguing that the local population is not financially capable of bearing such burdens. 'These areas have been severely affected by the war on terror and require significant investment,' he emphasized. Highlighting the sacrifices of people from merged districts, the chief minister urged the federal government to fulfill all promises made to them. He demanded immediate release of compensation funds for displaced persons from these regions and called for an end to drone strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, citing civilian casualties. He also demanded for the immediate inclusion of the merged districts' share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) award. 'We are not asking for another province's share—we're demanding our rightful due,' he said. The Chief Minister further urged the federal government to release all pending dues owed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including net hydel profits and the province's full share in the tobacco cess. 'These are the rightful entitlements of our people,' he asserted. In his address, the Chief Minister urged the reinstatement of the traditional jirga system to sustainably resolve disputes in the merged districts. He also demanded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's inclusion in peace talks with neighbouring Afghanistan, warning that excluding the province would render the negotiations incomplete. KP govt disburses loans under youth empowerment scheme
PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has disbursed hefty amount in head of interest-free loans across the province under 'Ehsaas Naujawan Programme', aimed at enabling youth to start businesses and secure dignified employment. The project is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and the supervision of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jehan. The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is executing this mega interest-free loan scheme to empower the youth economically. The loans are being disbursed through the Bank of Khyber and Akhuwat Foundation. According to the received data, since the inception of the program, the Bank of Khyber has disbursed loans worth PKR 220 million. Enrolled in govt schools: KP CM decides to provide furniture to students
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has decided that students enrolled in government schools will be provided with furniture under the ongoing educational emergency. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the provision of furniture to every government school is completed during the next fiscal year adding that no students in public sector should sit on floor owing to unavailability of furniture. The Chief Minister issued these directives while chairing a meeting here on Sunday to finalize the Annual Development Programme of the upcoming financial year. The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzammil Aslam, and Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development Ikramullah Khan, and administrative secretaries of relevant departments. He further stated that all required funds for the provision of school furniture will be made available on a priority basis. Highlighting the government's commitment to improving basic facilities, the Chief Minister emphasized that access to proper furniture, functional washrooms, and clean drinking water in government schools is a top priority and that there will be no compromise on these essentials. The Chief Minister has also instructed that a special program be launched to improve the quality of education in government schools further directing that modern training be provided to teachers and that such training be made mandatory for all newly recruited educators. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on development proposals submitted by various departments, including Planning, Communications, Local Government, Education, Health, Irrigation, and Water Supply. Each proposed project was individually reviewed and finalized for inclusion in the upcoming development program. Speaking to the participants, the Chief Minister said the new ADP will be a visionary document, laying the foundation for the province's development agenda over the next four years. The plan will incorporate input from elected public representatives and prioritize projects based on the actual needs of communities across different regions. He added that the ADP would include solid and practical projects serving broad public interests, with the majority of next year's development funds allocated to completing ongoing projects. Projects with over 80% progress will be completed within the next year, while approximately 50% of other ongoing projects are also expected to reach completion in the same period. The Chief Minister stressed that the new ADP will be realistic and aligned with the genuine needs of the public. 'We will not pursue superficial progress while leaving essential needs behind,' he said. 'We will ensure the wise and effective use of taxpayers' money.' Declaring that 'every constituency in the province is my constituency,' the Chief Minister pledged there would be no discrimination in the allocation of development projects.
