Gambler bets $8.80 on slot machine — then wins big jackpot at Las Vegas casino

A gambler walked away from a Las Vegas casino with a big jackpot win. The player went to the Suncoast Hotel and Casino on Wednesday, April 23, Boyd Gaming said in a news release. The visitor sat at a Light & Wonder Dancing Drums slot machine and bet $8.80. Then the gambler hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared showing a $135,472 prize. Twelve hours before this win, another gambler hit a jackpot at a Boyd Gaming casino in Las Vegas. The gambler went to Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa and sat at the same slot machine. They bet $17.60 and won the $118,726 jackpot. Both casinos are not on the Las Vegas Strip. Former Nevada state senator's son killed in shooting at North Las Vegas casino

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The son of a former Nevada state senator was killed Thursday at a North Las Vegas casino, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned. Na'onche Osborne, 23, of North Las Vegas, was shot to death at approximately 4:30 a.m. Thursday at Aliante Casino in North Las Vegas, Clark County officials confirmed Saturday. In 2022, Democratic State Sen. Pat Spearman identified Osborne as her son following his arrest for a shooting in her home. Spearman, who served several terms in the Legislature, lost a bid for mayor of North Las Vegas in 2022. Voters first elected her to the Nevada State in 2012. Police arrested Osborne, then 21, on Oct. 20, 2022, following a shooting at her home in the 4100 block of Erinbird Avenue, near Elkhorn Road and Decatur Boulevard. Last Thursday, Aerion Warmsley, 19, allegedly killed Osborne, who officers found dead in the casino's garage. Warmsley left the scene before officers arrived. Hours later, Warmsley led Las Vegas-area police on a chase that included the carjackings of at least three drivers, and a crash into a bus stop, officers said. The chase reached speeds above 100 miles per hour. On Thursday, LVMPD Undersheriff Andy Walsh detailed the pursuit, which began in the northeast valley at Cheyenne Avenue and Queen Street with a report of a stolen car approximately three hours after the deadly shooting. It led to a crash near Spring Mountain Road and Interstate 15. Another person was carjacked soon after, and Metro police tracked that vehicle to downtown. Another carjacking occurred at a fast food drive-thru, before the suspect finally crashed into a bus stop at Boulder Highway and Tropicana Avenue. Warmsley faces charges of open murder and robbery, both felonies. He is being held without bail at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center. In that incident, Osborne shot his cousin, David Spearman, in the home, records said. A prior shooting at the home involving Osborne on Sept. 1, 2022, went unreported until the October incident, according to North Las Vegas police. For the 2022 case, a judge sentenced Osborne to a year in county jail and pay restitution, records said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
