Charity Takaful Project
The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), in collaboration with Takaful International Company, has launched the Charity Takaful Project, through which Takaful donates a fixed amount for every insurance policy it issues. The proceeds will support RHF sponsored families in healthcare, education, and social welfare. The agreement was signed by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, RHF Secretary General, and Esam Al Ansari, CEO of Takaful International. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa noted that the initiative involves cooperation with insurance companies in Bahrain, which commit to donating a specified amount for every policy issued. The Secretary General said that the funds are directed toward the RHF's family support programmes, reinforcing community partnership and encouraging broader societal involvement in humanitarian work.

RHF and UTB signs cooperation agreement

The agreement also encourages volunteerism through student participation in RHF activities and enhances cooperation in education and research by leveraging the university's academic expertise and involving students in addressing humanitarian issues. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa emphasised the RHF's commitment to forging partnerships that positively impact the quality of life for beneficiaries, particularly in education. He described the cooperation with UTB as a step towards enabling students to access a quality education that supports their aspirations. Dr. Al Mulla commended the RHF's efforts to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in empowering individuals and preserving their dignity. It is named after Renato William Jones, a key founding figure of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), who played a significant role in the global development and promotion of the sport. The tournament brings together national teams, university squads, and club sides from around the world, offering a platform for high level competition and exposure to diverse playing styles. It serves as a valuable preparatory opportunity for teams ahead of continental and international competitions. Bahrain's participation in this year's tournament aligns with the Bahrain Basketball Association's strategy to elevate the performance of the national team. The initiative seeks to enhance player readiness by engaging with elite level opponents and gaining exposure to varied tactical approaches. The tournament also holds historical significance for Bahrain's basketball community. In 1977, Renato William Jones visited the Kingdom of Bahrain at the invitation of Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who was then President of the Bahrain Basketball Association. His visit was to attend the opening of a mini basketball festival, marking an early milestone in Bahrain's commitment to developing the sport. The agreement includes financial support for the medical treatment of Bahraini orphans and widows supported by the RHF, as well as aid for productive families linked to the RHF. It also provides tools, equipment, and training courses to help them improve their skills. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa commended the role played by Lamar Holding in supporting widows and orphans through its contributions to various RHF projects. He emphasised the RHF's pride in this cooperation, noting that Lamar Holding exemplifies effective support for sustainable humanitarian work and highlighting the private sector's role in promoting social development. Lamar Holding is a leading supporter of developmental charity work, with 13 years of experience. The company has contributed to several important initiatives, such as supporting the closing ceremony of the Sovereign Foundation Award by purchasing artwork from RHF students, adding cultural and humanitarian value to the partnership.
