France's border patrol is playing a losing game

In a 24-hour period at the weekend, 184 migrants were rescued in the English Channel by the French coastguard. The most southerly group that got into trouble was picked up off Fort-Mahon in the Somme Department, and the most northerly were off Dunkirk, more than 80 miles up the coast. The coastguard was also called to incidents in Wimereux and Grand-Fort-Philippe. In other words, it is not just England that is being invaded. So is France, its rugged coastline saturated by thousands of predominantly young men all intent on crossing the Channel. I've written before of their violent desperation: the mob who last year attacked a group of hunters who had alerted the police to their presence in the dunes, and of others who assault police with cries of 'Allahu akbar'. The easy – and lazy – response is for British politicians and commentators to blame the migrant crisis on the inertia of the French police.

Al-Quds Brigades Release Footage of House Explosion Targeting Israeli Force in Eastern Gaza

Gaza – Saba: The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, on Saturday released footage documenting the bombing of a house in which an Israeli force had taken shelter in the eastern part of Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood in Gaza City, as part of the ongoing 'Al-Aqsa Flood' battle. The footage shows the process of rigging the house with explosive devices, accompanied by the voice of a resistance fighter saying, 'Masha'Allah, may God grant us success.' It then shows the Israeli soldiers approaching the booby-trapped house. The video captures the moment of detonation as the soldiers enter, followed by the sound of gunfire and intense clashes, while resistance fighters are heard chanting 'Allahu Akbar' (God is Great). Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza continue their defense of the Palestinian people and Islamic holy sites through the 'Al-Aqsa Flood' battle, in retaliation for the Israeli enemy's massacres and crimes against civilians in the Strip. Protest against desecration of holy books in Belagavi

Members of various Muslim organisations held protests in some places in Belagavi district of Karnataka on May 16 against the alleged desecration of holy books, including the holy Quran, in Santi Bastawad village recently. A massive rally was taken out in Belagavi. Similar rallies were held in Hukkeri and some other towns. They complained that unidentified persons had stolen the holy Quran and Hadith books from a shelf in the village mosque, and burnt them in a field. A large number of people gathered in front of the Anjuman ground near Kittur Rani Channamma Circle. They raised slogans like 'Nara Taqdeer, Allahu Akbar' and 'Hindustan Zindabad', 'Islam Zindabad'. They held flags and placards. They demanded arrest of the accused. They submitted a petition to the Deputy Commissioner's office, demanding strict punishment to the offenders. Traders voluntarily closed shops on major roads of Belagavi to express solidarity with the protest. The crowd began swelling up after the afternoon prayers. The protest led to blocking of road traffic for nearly two hours in all the roads leading to the circle. MLA Asif Sait, youth leader Aman Sait, current and former members of the city corporation, and a large number of Muslim citizens participated in the protest. The protesters demanded the arrest of the accused at the earliest. Mr. Sait condemned the theft and burning of the holy books, and demanded swift legal action. 'What has happened is unforgivable. The Police Commissioner has promised to arrest the accused in a week. Earlier, the police had sought a deadline of three days. But officers were busy in cracking the case of the desecration of the idgah in the same village. Now that they have solved the old case, we hope that they will put their full force in this case,' he said. He said that a negligent police officer had been suspended. He appealed to the community members to maintain peace and to cooperate with the police. As a precautionary measure, the city Police Commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang had imposed prohibitory orders in the central business district. Police had asked the protestors to carry out a peaceful march. Police said around 3,000 officers and personnel were on duty. The rally was disturbed for a few moments after some young protestors got into an altercation over allegations of some police constables pushing them. Senior officers pacified the agitated youth. As many as 11 organisations joined the protest in Hukkeri. They demanded action against the offenders and steps from the government to see that such incidents are not repeated.

'Send Suicide Bombers To Kolkata': Bangladeshi Islamist's Terror Threats Against Hindus On Cam

Last Updated: A Bangladeshi Islamist threatened to take over Kolkata using Taliban-style suicide attacks while making hateful, derogatory remarks against Hindus. A man, believed to be a Bangladeshi Islamist, was caught on camera openly talking about taking over Kolkata using Taliban-style tactics, including suicide bombings. During his speech, he was also heard spewing venom against Hindus. A video of the Islamist was shared by the 'Voice of Bangladeshi Hindus' X handle, wherein he could be heard speaking in his native language. 'If the Bangladesh army tells me now, go capture Kolkata, I'll make a plan. Forget about using 70 fighter jets, I wouldn't even use seven planes to take over Kolkata. Why would I need 70 planes? I know who lives there, people who worship statues," he said, in reference to Hindus. 'I know their favourite foods are dirty things like urine, dung, and turtles, I know how little they understand, I know how weak they are physically. I know how much faith they have in their religion. I know all this. If you don't know these things, you can't be a Muslim commander, got it?" 'I know how scared these Hindus get when they see blood. These statue-worshippers are terrified of it," he added. Further, the Islamist said he would send suicide bombers to Kolkata if the Bangladesh army allows him. 'If the Bangladesh army gives me permission, here's what I will do – I'll send the most suicide bombers to Kolkata. What will I use? Suicide bombers. Islamic Ayat, their rule is 'Die first, then kill'. GenZ says 'Never heard this before, first time hearing it. But, sir, how can I kill Hindus after I'm dead?' Islamic Ayat, 'Kill, then die'," he said. 'I'll attack, and then they'll hit me. There's another verse I learned in Arabic countries, Islamic Ayat, 'Die first, then kill the Kafirs', this is the system the Taliban used to defeat two superpowers – America and Russia," the Islamic was heard saying. 'Say 'Allahu Akbar', they used bikes with bombs strapped to their bodies, they rode towards the army camps, they got shot with bullets. One bullet doesn't kill you right away. They crashed their bomb-filled bikes into the camp's wall. The moment it hit, there was a huge explosion, and 300 American citizens died and the camp was destroyed. Who died first? The Muslim biker. Who did he kill after? The Kafirs," he said. Islamists are reportedly planning to take over Kolkata using Taliban-style tactics, including suicide bombings. Their determination is clear, and hatred toward Hindus is growing among segments of the Bangladeshi Muslim population. — Voice of Bangladeshi Hindus 🇧🇩 (@VHindus71) May 12, 2025 The widely shared social media video comes amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 innocent tourists. Indian armed forces carried out 'Operation Sindoor' from 01.05 am to 01.30 am on May 7, striking nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Immediately after the strikes, India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) informed his Pakistani counterpart that the attacks were directed only at terror groups and the Indian side was ready to talk. 'Op victory' celebrated at Wagah

Jubilant crowds at Lahore's Wagah Border hail the armed forces with chants and petals, celebrating Pakistan's resounding triumph in Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos, as India quietly skipped the traditional ceremony. PHOTO: EXPRESS Thousands of citizens gathered at the Wagah Border on Sunday to celebrate the historic and decisive victory over India, following Pakistan's retaliatory Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos in response to New Delhi's aggression. Chanting slogans of "Allahu Akbar," "Long live Pakistan Army" and "Pakistan Zindabad," the emotionally charged crowd, comprising men, women, children and the elderly, waved national flags and donned green-and-white attire in a display of patriotic unity. Despite the stadium on the Pakistani side being under construction and typically closed to the public, the turnout was overwhelming. At the conclusion of the parade, citizens showered flower petals on personnel of the Pakistan Rangers Punjab. Soldiers were welcomed with garlands and greeted with chants of "We are proud of you". Elderly women embraced and kissed their foreheads as a gesture of appreciation for their service. Maryam, a student from Lahore, shared her emotions: "We are here to celebrate a glorious victory over India. I hope this ends Modi's warmongering fever". "Our army has shown not just India, but the entire world, that we Muslims fear none but Allah. India will now think a thousand times before threatening Pakistan again," another young participant, Hamza, added. "India will never even dream of waging war with Pakistan again. Our army has taught the enemy a lesson that will be remembered in history," a woman in the crowd said while echoing the sentiment. Parade Commander Nasir, speaking to media personnel, said that since tensions began with India, the forces have been on full alert. "We've always said we fear no one but Allah". He recalled that in 2019, Pakistan returned Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan from this very border. "Today, the enemy once again witnessed our resolve." "Locals used to bring us food during the nights. Today, they're offering not just flowers, but their hearts. This love strengthens our morale," He added. Ranger soldier Ali recounted a powerful memory: "When hostilities began and India launched an initial strike, my mother called and told me: 'Don't be afraid. If you have to lay down your life for your homeland, do so without hesitation. Take a bullet on your chest, not your back. Otherwise, I won't bless you with my milk.'" "We Rangers are ready for martyrdom. We will foil every conspiracy of the enemy." In sharp contrast, the Indian side of the border was marked by silence. The stadium stood empty, and no BSF personnel conducted their usual parade. Only a quiet lowering of the Indian flag took place, a subdued image that appeared to reflect a lack of public participation and internal unease.
