Your Fire TV Stick gets a free upgrade this month and the timing could not be better

Fire TV Sticks, Sky devices and Google streamers are all getting free access to new service this month. If you have a Fire TV Stick plugged into the back of your telly, you might want to try a heart-pumping new service that has launched just in time for the school summer holidays. It's called Mvmnt Family and has just been released by the fitness team at Mvmnt. As the name suggests, this online platform isn't built for just adults - it's been created to help the whole family get moving during the long break. ‌ Once installed, Fire TV users will find 7-minute workouts included in Mvmnt Family, which are all led by a fitness coach. But that's not all as all the classes also feature children as well. This should make it easy for parents and kids to follow along together from the comfort of their front rooms. ‌ So it doesn't get boring, Mvmnt also says its sessions span a broad range of activities which include strength, yoga, HIIT, football skills and balance. ‌ Even if you don't have a Fire TV Stick, don't worry. This service is also now available on devices including Sky Q, Sky Glass and Google - it's also possible to join in via phones and tablets. Fancy giving it a go? There's good news for new Mvmnt members as it's completely free for all of August. The launch of Mvmnt Family could come at the perfect time. New research suggests many parents hit a summer slump with 46 percent of parents admitting they run out of active ideas by mid-August. 27 percent of families also say they are only active together just once a week or less. ‌ 'We wanted to create something simple, fun, and accessible that helps families stay active together,' said Rory Knight, Coach and Director of Fitness at Mvmnt 'By bringing Mvmnt Family to millions of living rooms, we're making fitness something parents and kids can easily do side by side. No setup, no stress.' How to access Mvmnt on Amazon Fire, Google TV and Sky: Amazon Fire, and Google TV customers can access Mvmnt via ' Apps ' on their device. Sky customers can also head to the 'Apps' section on Sky Live, Sky Stream, Sky Q and Sky Glass to find Mvmnt. Search for Mvmnt, and start a free 7-minute family session straight from their TV. Millions of Sky and Fire TV Stick users receive free upgrade this month to keep the kids entertained over the holidays

A NEW addition for Sky and Fire TV Stick users will get everyone in the family moving. Customers of the Amazon TV extension and subscribers to Sky will now get access to a free upgrade which comes just in time for the summer holidays. 3 3 The UK-based digital fitness platform, Mvmnt, has now launched Mvmnt Family which is designed to help families to get active together with short videos that everyone can follow. Mvmnt is offering new customers to its app an one-month free trial throughout August. That will also include access to the Mvmnt Family workouts for the entire school holidays, online and on TV including via Sky, Amazon Fire, and Google TV. All of the Mvmnt Family programs are very user friendly each workout runs for less than 10 minutes and no equipment is needed. What's even better is the sessions are led by a coach and child exercising side-by-side on screen so that everyone feels comfortable getting involved. There's also plenty of sessions to choose from including strength, yoga, HIIT, football and balance. The Mvmnt Family programs were designed to help parents rethink exercise as a family activity. Family Moving Time The new launch comes as research reveals that almost 50 percent of parents run out of ideas for school holidays entertainment, and that only 27 percent of families do something active together just once a week or less. Many parents said they wanted to be more active with their kids but are worried how much it will cost them, and other parents say there never seems to be enough time to get moving with family during school holidays. 'Families are an underserved segment in the digital fitness space,' said Colin Griffith, Managing Director at Mvmnt. Quick look at Fire TV Stick remote and top button tips 'We saw an opportunity to support parents who are time-poor, stressed, and want a shared active experience that benefits everyone in the house – not just the kids.' Be Warned The free upgrade comes after Fire TV Stick users were warned about illegal streaming devices, including dodgy versions of the TV extension. The Federation Against Copyright Theft warned this could lead to users having their ID stolen or their credit card details handed to criminals. Posts have begun flooding social media sites advertising modified Fire Sticks for just a few pounds. Some posts advertised all Sky channels plus streaming sites such as Netflix and Disney Plus for as little as £2.50 a month. Kieron Sharp, chairman of the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) said dodgy Fire Stick users are breaking the law too, and could end up being prosecuted. According to FACT, watching an illegal stream is an offence under the Fraud Act 2006, and has a maximum penalty of five years in prison. 3

Woman Tells MIL She Can't Buy Stepson a Tablet—Nobody Prepared for Response

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A mother-in-law has been slammed online for her response to being told that she couldn't buy a tablet for her autistic grandson. In a post on Reddit, u/bbywace turned to the r/AmIOverreacting subreddit to ask: "Am I overreacting?" Newsweek reached out to u/bbywace via Reddit. A strict and anxious mature mother-in-law lectures her grown daughter, left, on the sofa at home. A strict and anxious mature mother-in-law lectures her grown daughter, left, on the sofa at home. fizkes The original poster shared screenshots of the exchange that began at 7:47 a.m. with a text from the mother-in-law asking if she could buy another Amazon Fire tablet for her grandson, referred to in the post as "Green." The timing and content caught the poster off guard, given their prior conversations about how tablet use significantly increased Green's screaming—already a major challenge in their household. "I'd prefer if he doesn't have it, it causes him to scream a lot more," the poster responded, adding, "but it's up to you. I won't be mad lol [laugh out loud]." The mother-in-law's tone quickly shifted. "I'm just trying to stay a part of his life but I can tell I'm getting push back and rejection," she wrote, eventually concluding: "I guess it's better I stay away and wash my hands." The poster replied: "Nobody is rejecting or pushing you back, we just don't want him having things that cause him to scream … You are welcome to call him on my iPad, anytime we have him … Buying things for him does not equate to being a part of his life." The mother-in-law's final response read: "No worries. No lectures needed … I would not want to disrupt everyone's life/time with screaming." In her Reddit post, the poster provided important context. Green, her nonverbal stepson, has level 3 autism and is currently being reenrolled in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy—something she says has intensified his behaviors. The family had already determined that screen time, especially on tablets, was a significant trigger. "If you don't know what it's like to sit in a small house with someone screaming at the top of their lungs every 2 minutes as is, I'm jealous," the poster wrote. She added that, after the mother-in-law previously brought a secondhand tablet to a birthday party—despite being told screen time worsened Green's symptoms—her husband informed his mother that the device hadn't been given to him due to its performance issues. The final straw for the poster was the mother-in-law's sudden outreach after a month of no contact, timed during a chaotic Monday morning as she scrambled to get two kids ready for therapy appointments. "She hasn't tried to talk to either kid since," the poster added, adding that the mother-in-law had continued to interact with her on social media "like nothing happened." At the time of writing, the post has sparked hundreds of supportive comments, with many other users calling out the mother-in-law for being manipulative. "It's crazy to me you're even allowing her around him still after that—that's grounds for no contact," one user wrote. "I have relatives like this. Trust me, they don't recognize they are doing something wrong. Here is where they begin to martyr themselves because they're 'just trying to do something nice', and they just. don't. Understand. why they are being 'pushed aside'" another added. Others also empathized with the challenges of raising a neurodivergent child and the emotional labor of managing in-law dynamics. "You're not overreacting; she's making it about herself and not what is actually helpful for the children or your family," a third user commented. For the stepmom, it is not about cutting someone off—it's about setting necessary boundaries in a high-stress, high-needs environment. "I decided after her visit to our state for my son's first birthday I was done reaching out to her to push a relationship," the poster wrote.
