Egypt & Pakistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties & Health Sector Cooperation

Rana Atef Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, received Ambassador Amer Shaukat, Pakistan's Ambassador to Cairo, at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector. During the meeting, Minister Abdel Ghaffar welcomed the Pakistani ambassador and expressed his appreciation for the deep-rooted historical relations between Egypt and Pakistan, praising their role in advancing mutual collaboration and the exchange of expertise. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to expanding cooperation in the health field to serve the shared interests of both nations. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting included discussions on public health initiatives, primary healthcare, and medical training. A key focus was sharing Egypt's successful experience in eliminating hepatitis C with Pakistan.
