Ted Lasso season 4: Everything you need to know about Apple TV+ show

After much speculation about whether it would be returning, Ted Lasso is officially filming its fourth season. The show, which seemed to wrap up at the end of season 3, is now back for more, and many of the show's main cast members are set to return for this new season. While it's been a couple of years since we've heard from Ted and the gang, many people are naturally wondering what might be different about this new season and when we'll get a chance to see it. Here's everything you need to know about the new season based on what's out there now. Is there definitely a new season of Ted Lasso? Although it was only a rumor for a long time, we now know for sure that Ted Lasso will be back for a fourth season. On July 21, Apple TV+ announced that production on the show had begun. The production also shared our first look at season 4, an image of Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), and Jason Sudeikis's Ted Lasso sitting at what looks like an American diner. Recommended Videos In March, Apple announced that the show would return after months of speculation. 'As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap,'' Sudeikis said in a press release at the time. 'In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to 'leap before they look,' discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be.' What seems clear, though, is that Sudeikis and the rest of the creative team behind the show were unsure whether the show would be back after season 3. Part of the reason it took so long to get a season 4 is that this show is a little bit of a soft reboot. It's technically season 4, but the show now has a new premise, and not all of the cast from the first three seasons will be back. Who is in the cast for Ted Lasso season 4? In addition to the four cast members who appear in the image, we know that Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) will return for the new season. Apple also announced that Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern will all be joining the show in roles that have yet to be disclosed. Grant Feely is also replacing Gus Turner as Ted's son. Where will the new season take place? Through its first three seasons, Ted Lasso took place entirely in the U.K., but it seems the show is shifting gears, at least to some extent, for season 4. Filming commenced in Kansas City, Missouri, which is Sudeikis's hometown and also happens to be Ted's. The production did clarify, though, that some additional photography would take place in London, so it seems the show is not abandoning its U.K. setting completely. As you might remember, Ted returned home to coach his son's soccer team at the end of season 3, and it seems season 4 will pick up with Ted back in Kansas City. What will the plot of season 4 be? According to a synopsis for the new season, Ted will be returning to the United Kingdom yet again, and this time, he'll be coaching a women's soccer team. 'Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team,' the show's synopsis explains. 'Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.' It would seem that this is the team that Keeley proposed to Rebecca at the end of the show's third season. When is the release date for Ted Lasso season 4? We don't yet know when Ted Lasso will debut, but given that the show has just started filming, it likely won't be on the air until 2026 at the earliest. That would be three years after the last season, which is a long time, but not unprecedented in the era of streaming television. Still, this is a slightly unusual situation because of the uncertainty after season 3. In the end, the show's popularity was too great to ignore. Is there a trailer for Ted Lasso season 4 yet? Given that production on the season just started, we don't yet have a trailer for the new season. It will likely be several months before we get anything besides images from the set, because Apple won't want to produce a trailer until there's plenty of footage to choose from. In place of a trailer, Apple released a brief clip of Ted, Keely, Rebecca, and Higgins eating at a booth to announce the start of production on season 4.

I try the independent burger takeaway in Hull's busy Princes Avenue

Not too long ago I paid a late-night visit to Princes Avenue for drinks with friends which worked up a serious appetite. With most kitchens closed, we were unsure where to go, but the tantalising smell coming from Cheezy tempted us off the street. Now, there are many takeaways in Hull that offer burgers and fries, but how many have a mascot resembling Donald Duck? It was certainly the first thing that caught my attention when I walked through the door. Decor-wise, Cheezy is set out like an American diner, with booths and padded seating in cheerfully clashing bright blue and yellow. READ MORE: Holliefest music festival returns to Sproatley in memory of Hollie Tennent READ MORE: Three East Yorkshire sites for an outdoor break rated 'outstanding' in new guide for 2025 I liked how the kitchen was in plain view of the seating area, which always shows confidence in hygiene. The queue for food was a promising sign of quality, so we browsed the menu and placed our order at the counter. Within seven minutes, our food was ready. We got three burgers and four portions of fries, with the curly fries being particularly impressive in portion size. The dusting of chip spice was just right and not too salty, and the oil the fries were cooked in tasted really fresh. Having never had deep-fried curly fries before (I just whack them in the oven) it was a proper treat and upgraded them to another level of crispiness, kind of like an onion bhaji in texture. All the burgers are priced under £10, with the cheapest under £6. My friends opted for the shroom burger - double patty, melted mozzarella, topped with creamy mushroom sauce and crispy onions. They really enjoyed the quality of the burger, especially the patty (described by one as "very meaty with a chunky texture") and seeded brioche bun, but thought the mushroom flavour could have been more intense. The other burger was the Cheezy Chicken Burger and again they said the quality was self-evident. The chicken was nicely fried and they liked the delicious combination of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and the house sauce. A minor gripe was that the cheese could have tasted cheesier. Overall, the service was top-notch and I would recommend Cheezy for a quick bite. Get all the latest updates on food, drink, entertainment and events with our free What's On newsletter

The American diner serving burgers bigger than Llandudno's Great Orme

Towering high above Llandudno, the Great Orme, occupies one of North Wales most spectacular sites and views. I was hoping to find a similar rugged, foreboding pinnacle on Gloddaeth Street in Llandudno, as someone had told me that Dinos, served mountains of meat, which were just as difficult to conquer? Dinos Llandudno is a big and brash American diner and takeaway, which offers deluxe burgers bigger than your head. So, if your eyes are bigger than your stomach, then this could be the place for you. Dinos ranks high in the Trip Advisor ratings, but surprisingly has no American stars and stripe's theme with the inside décor. Instead, it is simply decorated with basic turquoise and pink walls. Despite its central location, the venue was relatively quiet when we visited. READ MORE: I tried an angelic café in North Wales city centre and found a little taste of heaven READ MORE: Doctor urges millions to get a tin of baked beans before June 30 Dinos is obviously burger barmy but the saliva-inducing menu has various other options from across the pond such as chicken wings, shakes and pizza. There are lots of turkey rashers and barbeque sauce on the menu as you might expect, with toppings drawing largely on American Ranch influences, with enough cheese to sink a ship. Every type of burger is listed here. From, simple American style burgers with gherkins and American mustard for £11, to a massive Welsh dragon burger, food challenge, which involves two x 16oz Welsh lamb burgers and enough chili sauce to blow your socks off for £34. There were about twenty-three burgers listed on the menu, with all kinds of strange names such 'Heart Attack' 'Angry Bird' 'King Kong' or the patriotic 'Snowdon Mountain' burger. There were charcoal cooked chicken burgers such as the 'Bob Marley' burger or Cajun spiced and even a tandoori version. Although, I still think they were missing a trick by not having a 'Great Orme' burger. When it comes to burgers, there are some who think, less is more, and even though I didn't see any 'Smash Burgers' on the list? I did notice that there were a couple of Welsh Lamb burgers, which didn't include any sauces or cheese, so that you could get the full taste of the meat. The pizza list was just as big with over twenty-four choices such as 'Cajun sizzler' 'Hot Mexico' or 'Spicy Italian', all fairly self-explanatory with their ingredients. Grilled meals included various versions of chicken and there were a few healthy salads on offer for people who were counting the calories. I decided to leave the diet until tomorrow and went for the 'King Burger', which was an 8oz cheese burger with Parmesan cheese and a Caesar dressing. We were told by the waitress that we could add a meal deal, which meant French fries or Potato Wedges with a can of pop for £5 extra or you could add a fresh milkshake and your choice of fries or wedges for £7 extra. I couldn't resist and it was good to have an attentive service from a waitress, who didn't judge us for our guilty food choices. The burger was a plump, well- shaped pillow and the seeded bun was sturdy enough not to fall apart in my hands. There were three extra crunchy onion rings placed on the top of a skewer, which was delicately holding the whole thing together. The burger was smoothed in cheese with a primal, charred exterior but was soft and succulent inside. My wife went for her cheese burger to be concealed in a wrap. The results were surprisingly different and delicious, with her version tasting a bit like a big juicy burger kebab. The burger was cut into half and squeezed into the wrap with some salad and a burger sauce. The fries were presented in a mini chip pan fryer and were very morish indeed. The milkshake section was also extra-large and included all the usual suspects along with flavours such as Kinder Bueno, Peanut Butter, Oreo and Nutella. I completed my American dream with a thick and delicious snickers version, which tasted like caramel, peanut butter and chocolate at the same time. Desserts included USA inspired things like New Yorker Cheesecake, Chocolate Fudge Cake or Cookie Dough ice cream. We also saw a fine-looking Chocolate Pizza, which I am sure the kids would enjoy. Talking of big kids, I was still slurping my thick milkshake, topped with a flake, long after the burger had been digested whilst my more sensible wife sipped her simple Americano. Dinos food is also available for takeaway via the just eat app, and there is just as much choice on there, including melting meatballs, dirty fries, and various chicken bites, nuggets and strips. We decided to walk off our burgers with a stroll along the prom and the pier and by vowing not to eat again for at least 24 hours. Dinos Llandudno offers an American dining experience that keeps customers coming back for more. How can you resist a big plate of delicious carbs and sugar? If you like American classics, such as sloppy burgers, loaded fries and pizzas bigger than a dustbin lid, then you certainly won't be disappointed eating at Dinos. I Made Dozens of Smashburgers and Tacos to Find the Best Griddles

Photograph: Matthew Korfhage Griddles are a hallmark of the American diner and short-order cooking, and also the heroes of all street tacos. And we tested each griddle's ability to make the flat-top-grill's most hallmark foods. On the seven griddles I tested for this guide, I made dozens of smashburgers, tacos, fajitas, pancakes, bacon strips, and eggs. I also crisped up skin-on fish, seared pork chops, and tested each griddle's ability to cook delicate vegetables like asparagus at lower temperatures while meat cooked at higher temperatures on a different burner. For smashburgers, this involved cooking at the highest temperatures each griddle could handle—testing each griddle's ability to quickly caramelize meat smashed down on the griddle and then release the meat to a spatula to flip. Pancakes. laid out across the griddle, were a test of the grill's evenness across the cooking surface. Thicker slabs of meat, like a prok chop, tested the griddle's ability to retain temperature during searing. But also, we just got very familiar with each griddle using an infrared thermometer—checking temperature at different points along the surface of the grill as it heated on high or low temperatures. We also raced griddles against each other, checking how long it took each griddle to heat up 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Though note that faster isn't always better: Griddles that heat faster are sometimes less temperature-stable, or less even. Our top-rated pick, the Traeger Flatrock 3-Zone, took 10 minutes to reach 500 degrees. But it did so evenly across the surface of the griddle. I assembled each griddle myself, both to familiarize myself with the amount of work each customer will face but also to get down into the nitty-gritty of how each device is put together: You really get to know a grill, while spending an hour screwing together each and every part. And especially, I put in the work of cleaning and seasoning and reseasoning each griddle over time, getting to know its foibles and hot spots, how fast it cools, and how fast it heats—learning the amount of effort each griddle requires, and the degree to which this effort is rewarded.
