Video Shows Aide Of YSRCP Leader Counting Cash Amid Andhra Liquor Scam Probe
Last Updated: The Andhra Pradesh Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT), currently investigating the alleged liquor scam, seized a significant amount of cash from a farmhouse near Hyderabad. Amid the ongoing investigation into the alleged Rs 3,500 crore Andhra Pradesh liquor scam seized, the special investigation team (SIT) has recovered a video that reportedly shows a key accused counting bundles of cash. The man in the clip, which is now making the rounds on the internet, shows a man, identified as Venkatesh Naidu, a close aide of YSRCP leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, counting the cash. It is believed that the video could open new avenues in the investigation, potentially shedding light on the flow of illicit funds and the roles of key individuals involved. Earlier on Wednesday, Kasireddy Raja Sekhar Reddy, the prime accused in the alleged Rs 3,200-crore liquor scam during the erstwhile YSRCP government, filed an affidavit in court, denying any connection to the Rs 11 crore in cash seized near Hyderabad earlier in the day. The Andhra Pradesh Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT), currently investigating the alleged liquor scam, seized a significant amount of cash from a farmhouse near Hyderabad. The operation was carried out following the confession of Varun Purushotham, listed as the 40th accused (A-40) in the case. Meanwhile, Reddy (43), who has been in judicial custody at Vijayawada sub-jail since April 22, claimed in an affidavit that the prosecution is 'hell-bent" on preventing him from obtaining bail. 'The prosecution has turned into persecution, inventing cock and bull stories to link me with an absurd money trail. The claim that the seized cash belongs to me is a complete falsehood," the affidavit stated. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
